I'm afraid I don't own a stealth suite, though I can afford to have one recruited if need be (you wouldn't be willing to pay for half of it, would you, Carver?). The only problem there is whether or not they arive on time. Thoughts?

E.R.I.S., can we get a scale on the marshall's map? I want to know how long it'd take for a medical team to get from Koav's Landing to either of the mines on their own.

E.R.I.S.

I'm afraid it will be at least another two weeks before a stealth suite can arrive, not to mention the time it would take to adequately train in its use. Logistically it is not feasible, Commander Nought.

The surface area of the operation map of Koav's Landing is 375 kilos squared. Travel between Koav's Landing and the Broen Mountains would take approximately two hours and forty-five minutes using Militia vehicles. However, White Sun Logistics can make the transport outside five minutes.

There are currently no stealth suites being utilized on Koatev, Commander.
Anything is probably better then nothing.
@Dark Light Thank you. I'll give that a proper look over later today.

Also, just so you guys know, if I don't get a response to mission updates, ie the discovery of the crashed convoy, I'm just going to go ahead and carry out what your troops on the ground might reasonably carry out based on prior orders. This is just to keep the missions moving, so we're not waiting on responses. If you're not mission lead, that doesn't mean you don't have a say in the operation as well. After all, if the leader is silent, the other commanders would be stepping in to coordinate the mission.

Federation Dispatched to Koatev

2995.11.12

Koatev - A rise in insectoid activity has prompted the Bernard Colonial Government to dispatch the Federation to Raphurt's moon, Koatev, in the Bernard's Star system.

Commander Davidson of Manny's Mechs leads the force with Nought Contracted Bio-Warfare providing heavy armaments and medical support. Reports also indicate that Lantallian Mercenaries Guild has provided air support for the mission.

E.R.I.S. has indicated that bugs have been detected by the Federation. According to reports, mining operations have been disrupted, and a convoy attacked. This is just the most recent in a string of attacks that have left eight colonists dead and many more in fear. Governor Goldman of the Bernard's Star colonies has appealed for calm, stating; "...this is just an isolated incident."

There has been no indication at the size of the insectoid hive, but there may be a source. Marshall Ricks of the Bernard Colonial Militia has stated that juice runners may have brought bugs from Helix Nova. Arrest records do indeed indicate that traffickers frequent Koatev.

One can't helped but be alarmed at this new development. Trafficking bugs poses a huge risk to humanity.

More on the story as it develops.

Okay guys, now we have the bug hunt mission starting to take shape, and you guys have your first lead as to where the bugs may have their hive.

Next step is to formulate a plan to comb the mountains. Decide what units to send where, and an overall strategy.

Keep in mind that Helltop is standing by for transports.

You have the following available...

Mannys Mechs
2 Troop Companies
5 mechs
1 frigate

NBCM
1 tank
1 medical team
1 frigate

LMG
1 Aerofighter

Colonial Militia
1 troop company

VS

insectoid hive of unknown strength

Damn... Must be Murl and his boys. I warned them not to head out there, but they didn't listen. Just had to head up to the mines.

Alright. I'll have to worry about them later. We got a couple tylium mines out there in the mountains. I've ordered them shut down for this op, so there shouldn't be any civies out there. We need to avoid any collateral damage unless you guys want a bunch of suits breathing down your neck. Those mines might be a fine place to start looking.

Me and my boys we'll keep watch at Koav's landing. We're not making the big bucks like you lot anyhow.

And if you happen to find Murl, get him back in one peace, would ya.

"LMG Viper to Federation forces, I have conducted an aerial sweep of the area and discovered a crashed civilian convoy in the foothills of the Broen Mountains. Convoy crawled with four bogeys, lit them up and they retreated into the mountains where I've lost sight. Not much more good I can do here and I'm at bingo fuel. Heading back to dock to fill up. Over."

((Hope @Dark Light doesn't mind that I've commandeered his pilot for this mission. The air recon seems to have narrowed the bugs down to the Broen Mountain region.))

Look, y'all, I've seen the effects of orbital bombardment first hand during the war, and one thing it's not is accurate - no matter what the suits at Luna Shiprwrights tells ya. I'll need government approval before authorizing it. But I reckon we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.
