Are iridescent-type colors cool? Was thinking of my giving my dude scales that look green but in some lights and angles, look blue. Basing the general design off of hummingbirds.
I think I like the Rebel playbook, banished by my elders maybe.
I can write up the character sheet later, since I'm about to go out to lunch.
Is there any other literature or videos I can get my hands on to explore the lore and system?

Do you still have room for another person to join? I'm completely unfamiliar with this setting but I think it's very interesting and it's definitely got my attention.
I've some interest in your first idea. I don't think I've done any LitRPG before that I can think of, but I'm a quick learner. Unfortunately, I'm terribly rusty at this and got way too accustomed to only in-person TTRPGs for the past 4 years. Writing requires its own set of skills separate from in-person performance and those skills have got major cramps from being in the closet for so long. This would be, in effect, the first forum roleplay I've done in 6-8 years. Might need some mild babying/instruction the first post or two, but I'll be fine after that.

I'm not a bad writer, but I like to be casual and I like to throw as much of my voice in there as possible. One of my peeves, especially as someone in academia who has to read people being asses in their papers all the time, is overuse of big words that we really don't need to use. I know what the words mean-- they just feel pretentious, and sometimes shorter words get the point across better, like a jab or a punch. I can send you a sample of my writing from last semester's Creative Writing class. Or you can give me a prompt and I'll improv something.
Howdy, Eric! Supernatural horror, fantasy, and queer romance sound pretty solid to me. I'm also getting back into forum roleplaying after a very, very long hiatus. Maybe we'll run into each other on here, huh?
Greetings! I'm BleakBlueJay, also known as Elliot or Eli for short. I'm a 23yo anthropology major from California, and I've been roleplaying most of my life, I think.

I got started in games like Runescape and Habbo as a youngster, moved on to stuff like FeralHeart and Wolfquest, done a little forum roleplaying, and I've played real-life games of Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, and Vampire the Masquerade. In the realm of TTPRG, my favorite settings are Shadowrun, Humblewood, and VtM, although I've been wanting to get into Zweihander and recently bought the handbook. In general, I like fantasy settings, preferably low-magic, both urban fantasy and medieval. Character creation is very fun for me, and I like making weird dudes. Some of my favorite OCs have been a hippie firbolg bard named Qiven who is scared of girls and likes to pick flowers, and Vandal the half-orc, half-dwarf spores druid who owns a junkyard.

The last time I've done any forum roleplay was probably about six-to-eight years ago? I'm definitely rusty. Given quarantine, I stopped being able to attend in-person TTRPG meetings, and TTRPG over discord voice chat has never worked well for me. I'm a hands-on guy, can't stare at my screen on a voice call for a 6 hour session. Messaging and forums, however, is lower-stress and less time-consuming. As a full-time student, that's pretty valuable to me. So I thought I'd go back to my roots.

Do I remember the protocol? Nah. Do I remember any of the terms? Absolutely not. But I'm interested in getting back into the swing of things.

Beyond all of that, I've got a few hobbies of my own in my private life. I'm a digital artist, I love video games of all kinds, I like to make beadwork, I like to read, I play a teeny bit of guitar. I like punk music and fashion. A normal evening for me is watching a video essay while playing Valheim or GTA4 (at the moment), singing to my cats, and waiting for my girlfriend to get home from work.

I think that's all I've got to say. Feel free to ask questions and introduce yourself back to me! Maybe I'll make a couple friends.
