@Bloodrose I don't recall ever seeing an Ork that served Tzeencth myself, save for a greentext I read a couple years back about a warphead... Though I can't seem to find it now myself.
If that's too shaky a ground for your taste I'd be perfectly happy to do something else.
If it's not been established in the lore, then aye I'd rather you do something else :)
Would a blue Chaos Ork Runtherder of Tzeencth be acceptable to go for @Bloodrose?
I feel the need to ask, because I'm well aware that there are many who disagree with me on an Ork's ability to fall to chaos.
I know Orks serving Khorne have been a thing, but I've not heard of a Tzeencth-sworn Ork. If thats just my ignorance, and they are a thing in the fluff, then by all means.
Ooof blimey, it seems I missed a fair bit, whilst at work. I'll try and work through everything. Gimmie a nudge if I miss any questions and such.
@hank@Sophrus Both of you guys are accepted! Feel free to add your lovely chars to the CS tab. I particularly like how Ga'duk just sort of ambled his way to Skuberrima. That feels very Nurgle!
@Ollumhammersong Perhaps "up-and-coming" was the wrong choice of phrase, but I otherwise stand by what I said. I would need to see how the ship and cult were depicted. I'm not fully against the idea, I just need to see what it is you have in mind, when I assess your sheet.
Any chance we'll get a discord for quick communication?
If there is enough interest in a discord, I can set something up.
Can I make a tzeentchian sorcerer/magister type? Possibly with his own ship (just an iconoclast destroyer or something small) and a cult/crew where he can carry out his experiments and rituals with impunity?
A sorcerer is absolutely fine. As for the ship and cult, that would need to be handled particularly well. I'd have to see how it was all described in the character sheet.
This is a group of up-and-coming heretics, after all.
@Bloodrose working with the other Astartes player to get our CS coordinated. He is going Alpha Legion and I'll be playing a Nightlord.
If there is anyone with ideas for integrating their history with us just let me know. Should have the first pass of the CS done today without the character ties. Then I'll edit in how he ended up entangled with everyone
Interesting that you guys have gone for two of the least chaos-worshipping legions, but I'll wait to reserve judgement for now.
Denomination: Both Khorne in his most martial aspect and nothing - prefers coin and technology, really.
Appearance: Gak is, in pretty much all ways, the image of an a-typical Kroot warrior; his quilled head is home to sharp eyes and a sharper beak, his overall structure that of a stretched and gangly humanoid covered all over in mottled green and brown-speckled flesh.
Chaotic influence has had an effect however, Gak being more muscled and with quills and flesh of a redder hue than most of his kin.
He usually dresses himself in 'barbaric' garb, consisting of what other species would term rags - a loincloth and so on - with patches of blood-encrusted armour, fetishes and trophies festooning him, but is more than happy and capable to wear heavier armour (taken from an enemy or given by an employer) if the need requires it.
Personality: Irrational, unhinged, and excessively bloodthirsty are some words used to describe this xenos and his 'personality'. Some employers - for he is a mercenary first and foremost - have accused him of being far too cruel, flaying enemies, taking trophies and torturing for what seems like fun; nevertheless he has never reneged on a contract, completing them to the letter, and being paid in full.
He is loyal to a fault if paid correctly, merciless to his adversaries, swift to learn and adapt (as all Kroot are), and with a taste for tainted meat.
One thing he has never understood, though he has an innate sense of it due to his corruption, is the rivalry between the various deities, as such he feels much less uneasy fighting alongside Slaaneshi worshippers or those of the Changer than more human subjects might.
Biography: Gak came to Skuberimma in the way that all Kroot do, as a hired gun for one (and eventually both) of the combatants in a conflict, he and his kindred taken into war by their Shaper in search of DNA, currency and payment in advanced technology.
In the beginning all went well, the kindred prospered and much flesh was consumed under the Shapers watchful gaze, but as they became bogged down in warfare between the two pirate factions things began to go awry; the Shaper was forced more and more to hold back his charges from eating what was known as 'tainted meat' - flesh taken from Chaotic worshippers of one form or another - and it was one fateful day that Gak broke free from his leash and did just that.
The reponse from his former kith and kin was almost immediate, the Shaper able to smell the corruption within him and ordering him dispatched without delay...
It took Gak'Tar years of constant fleeing from one place to the next, and self-defense against his own kind, to finally have a fraction of a sense of freedom, whether illusionary or no.
Over time he decided to shape himself, seeking out the enemies most ferocious warriors and dispatching them himself. This has lead, due to his location and the forces within it, to eating the bodies of many Khornate champions and warriors in the process.
Gak is well aware of Euromulus Krynne, knowing of his mercantile earnings and quite pleased to have been summoned, the terms of payment and exactly what he will be paid still to be discussed. As such this is little more than yet another transaction, and so Gak heads back toward Skuberimma, his beak wet with blood and fire in his veins.
Blood for the Blood God, Skulls for the Skull Throne.
Other: Not currently, but I may think of some later.
The profile does seem a bit 'blunt' to me, and I'll likely edit it a wee bit later, but here's the initial entry for your perusal.
I'm really enjoying whats there. Big fan of Gak'Tar! You can add more, if you wish, but I will accept the CS as it is. Feel free to add our friendly xenos flayer to the CS tab.
Skuberrima, a fallen pirate colony, sat amidst the howling insanity of the Screaming Vortex. Home to warring bands of hungry corsairs, and bloodthirsty raiders, Skuberrima is a world of battle and carnage, held in the dark clutches of the ruinous powers.
To most, Skuberrima is just another damned world, amidst a sea of corruption, but the devious merchant Euromulus Krynne knows of the dark and terrible secrets which lurk beneath the planet’s surface.
Krynne came to Skuberrima in search of the Gauntlet of Myreena, the once pirate queen. During its prime, the planet was at the heart of a cataclysmic feud between Myreena, and the pirate king, Eliphayne.
This battle of egos reduced Skuberrima to a charred husk of its former glory, as the planet drowned beneath an ocean of fire and blood. The gauntlet was thought lost, but Krynne believes he knows how to retrieve it.
However, the wily merchant cannot do so alone…
OOC
Storms and Shadows is a Role Play adventure, heavily inspired by the 40k tabletop RPG Black Crusade. It will follow a band of up-and-coming heretics, devoted to the various dark gods, on their quest for power and glory.
With a small, closely-knit group of players, we will play out an unholy adventure, focusing on servants of the dark gods, and their shadowy exploits.
Rules
I’d like to keep this part fairly light.
Obviously, standard guild rules apply. Additionally, I’ll make the point that we’re all here to have fun, so please conduct yourself pleasantly, and with the appropriate level of maturity.
If a player leaves, or drops off of the face of the earth, I reserve the right to decide what their character’s in-game fate is.
Whilst this adventure was inspired by Black Crusade, we won't be getting bogged down with character stats, and tabletop mechanics. Combat, and other altercations, will have their outcome decided by whatever makes the most sense, narratively speaking.
As the game's master, my word is final.
Beyond that, just don’t be a wank-muffin, and we should all have a merry old time!
Character Creation
At least at the start of this adventure, our heretics are up-and-coming villains, who will have something of an infamous reputation, but are not fully-fledged “super villains”, for lack of a better term. We will advance, and grow in notoriety, as the adventure progresses.
Beyond that, aim to create a character that could feasibly be a part of this rag-tag warband of deviants. If you’re unfamiliar with the setting, the various 40k wikis offer extensive recounts of the warhammer 4000 universe, and id4chan also hosts a more brief and humorous, yet still ultimately informative, look at everything warhammer.
Applications for character sheets go in the OOC thread. Once a character has been approved, it can then be posted in the CS tab.

“I swear to make war on the Imperium and its people, and I will go to my grave attempting to tear down the walls of that benighted, decadent, and foolish empire. It is not I, at long last, who have betrayed the Imperium, it is the Imperium who has betrayed me. It is the Imperium who has betrayed us all.”
