Fei

Fei stood silent for a moment outside before Chen and Jessi eventually followed her out. Taking a deep breath, she left herself slip back into her old skin and momentarily forget the turmoil raging in her mind. She needed to focus and family drama would only slow her down. Traveling with both Chen and Jessi would require her utmost attention, as well. She could already feel her annoyance rising up.

"I hope we can put the past behind us, it would be highly disadvantageous if we let former allegiances cloud our judgement after all." Chen spoke as he came outside. Raising her eyebrow, Fei simply nodded. It seemed so strange to think that only a few hours ago, this boy had a knife to her neck. She’d be damned if she let something so ridiculous happen again.

Following Chen, Jessi finally stepped out of the manor. A slight smile rose on her face at his presence, her thoughts lingering back to the kiss they had recently shared. Despite the chaos going on with both her family and the world, Fei felt more at ease when Jessi was around. Not that she couldn’t survive on her own, Fei was perfectly capable of taking care of herself.

Jessi’s eyes met with Chen and a rather salty comment escaped his lips. ”As long as no one here is planning any more kidnappings then I’m willing to work with you. But that doesn’t mean I’m ready to trust you just yet.”

Sighing, Fei prepared herself for an incredibly long journey ahead. How she had somehow become the sane one in a group was beyond her. “Look you two, I don’t want to listen to any shit talk during this trip. We’re here to find the relic, not argue about the past.” Flipping her crimson hair, Fei began walking toward their destination.

The group eventually arrived at Fort Orello, and what would normally have been a beautiful military based seemed like a silent resting place. No guards patrolled the outside and an unsettling feeling began to rise in Fei. The reality of this mission hadn’t truly settled in until now. They had a duty to find this relic and burn any obstacles that might come their way, otherwise, people could die. This wasn’t gym practice in the academy where she could make as many mistakes as she wanted...

A few moments later a messenger shot out toward them and begged for the team’s help. Crossing her arms, Fei stayed silent as Jessi spoke to the boy. Part of Fei was slightly disappointed that the keep couldn’t handle a few pesky mercenaries but not wanting to upset Jessi, she forced the comment under her tongue.

“A black armored warrior with two handed sword, hmm?” Fei cracked her knuckles in excitement as a tinky trickle of fire danced above her head. “Sounds like the perfect way to let off some steam.”

Setting down her bucket of tools, Abby growled in annoyance. Here she was, a simple gardener, attempting to do her job, only to find several cigarette buds lying around her garden. Damn smokers. How was she supposed to do anything when half of the residents in Eden Gardens smoked? They were quite literally killing themselves. The next time she saw one of her pesky neighbors putting one of those killing machines to their mouth, she’d chopped it right off with one of her shears… Perhaps that would teach them. Abby aggressively slid her green rubber gloves over her fingers, making a snapping sound, and proceeded to pick up the abandoned cigarettes.

Once all traces of the cigarettes were gone, Abby moved on to complete her actual responsibilities. She started off by inspecting the flowers, pulling out her shears when she came across a withered Perennial. She carefully cut its stem off, and set it within her basket. Abby felt at peace whenever she was within a garden. There were no people, no expectations, just her and nature. Sometimes she would spend hours out in one, watching the way the flowers moved in the wind, breathing in the aroma of sweetness and purity. Everything just felt right.

As she was just about to move onto watering, Abby’s eyes caught some weeds near the edge of the garden. Rotten pests, she’d lose it if they infested her garden. Taking off her rubber gloves, Abby began walking back to her apartment. She had recently heard about using boiling water to get rid of weeds, and she thought today would be perfect to try it out. Although, when Abby came around the corner near the front entrance, she began to hear voices.

Ugh. People.

“Not today,” She voiced out to herself, and took a sidetrack through the back. Relaxing to her normal ‘bitch’ face, Abby walked into the main lobby of the apartment. Two people were conversing together, but she paid them no attention and continued on her way. Stopping to say hello was something Abby never did, it was pointless. She’d rather be forced to choke on melting gold than sit through a boring conversation, especially with one of her neighbors.

Once Abby finally made it into her apartment without interacting with anyone, she filled up her kettle with water and placed it on the stove. Despite Alex’s lack of interest in cleaning, Abby managed to keep the apartment looking somewhat in order. She wasn’t a super clean freak, but she didn’t like seeing the house decorated in garbage either. Someone had to do it, anyway. Folding her arms, Abby waited silently for the kettle to cry out.

The soothing peace and quiet was quietly shattered as more yelling and screaming took place in the hallway. Damn them. She’d need to speak to Marc about making these walls soundproof before she tore them down herself and made everyone shut up. It seemed no one knew what having neighbors meant. Popping her head outside of her room, Abby’s eyes darkened as she found the recent voice was Lewis.

“Hey dumbass, would you shut up?” She yelled out before slamming her door shut. Honestly, how much misfortune did she get with these neighbors? All of them were either awkward as hell or possessed no ability to shut up.

Finally, the kettle whistled and Abby gladly turned off the stove, grabbed some mittens, the kettle, and made her way back to the garden. Perhaps she should have waited to test this theory out tomorrow, it was definitely not worth it to see all of these people so early in the morning. You’d think someone spiked all of their coffee, heavens above.

As everyone voiced their opinions on the teams, Fei stayed silent. She felt as though, while many were reluctant to work with the librarians, herself included, the groups decided would be the final decision. Crossing her arms, she waited for the mingling to finish so they could begin their quests. The relics weren’t getting any closer. Despite her best efforts, Fei’s face turned pink as Jessi corrected himself for referring to her as Fei. Surely he had a right to call her by her name in public now? It was beyond embarrassing that he had brought attention to his mistake. Fei made a mental note to speak to him about the matter later.

When Eleonor rose to her feet, Fei followed in suit. It was time to put to rest all of the troubling thoughts swarming in her mind and learn about her family tree. Fei took a step toward her mother’s room, but hesitated. So much had happened in just one day, she could barely keep up. Would the information she was about to learn be frightening? Her mother had kept everything from her for a reason.. It was silly to think she had just risked her life not too long ago to find the one person she believed could tell her some bits of truth. Of course her bit of hesitation allowed Lorelai to go after her mother. Fei stood back, shocked. What did this maid think she had over Fei? She was Eleonor’s daughter, Lorelai was just a maid.

“Excuse me?” Fei called out, furious as what was happening. And then, Sol preceded to follow after Eleonor as well. “What the hell??” Fei was left to a room full of librarians, strangers, and Jessi. She wasn’t really sure how to take the situation. Should she barge into her mother’s quarters and demand the two leave them alone? Their conversation was not something she wished the two to hear.

Whatever. Fei had enough of confusing matters for the day, she would just leave. There would come a time when she could speak with her mother alone. Making eye contact with both Chen and Jessi, Fei walked out of the summer home. She sighed once more and snuck one last look at the chateau, drawing every inch of the place within her mind. A strange feeling passed over her, and she suddenly thought when she returned to the place, she’d be a completely different Fei. Slightly smiling, she looked forward to the time this thought would come true.

Present Day ~Fairy Tale World, Tortuga

Interacting With: An Old Pirate and herself

Sprinting through the populated street, Rose’s luscious red cape shot out from behind her in the exceptionally strong wind. She didn’t dare take the moment to look back as a husky, rather agile for his age, old man hurried after her. Damn, she’d been careless. Assuming the pirate had been drunk was simply naive of her but his hefty pouch was more than enough to keep her going. Pickpocketing Pirates had become Rose’s career and the only way for her to get money. Normally, she didn’t get caught but in assuming the man was drunk, she had ignored normal precautions. Biting her tongue from sending a wave of curses, Rose continued down the street. There was no one who knew the streets of Tortuga better than her, she had spent almost all of her life living alone here.

Several sets of glares shot towards her but no one attempted to stop either Rose or the old Pirate. There seemed to be numerous amounts of chases and fights in the streets each day, anyone who played hero would find themselves either dead or too tired to keep up. Although, Rose did try to help whenever she could. Most of this included small things like stealing from Pirates for anything bigger would attract unwanted attention and Rose wasn’t sure she could continue defying the Dark Queen anywhere except Tortuga.

“Oy, Seadog, Keep up!” She called out behind her, letting a smirk cover her face. Seadog was a term referring to old Pirates, a rather insulting choice of words. One had to be careful when using it, although Rose tended to use it more than she probably should. What could she say? Insulting a disgusting Pirate was just far too tempting. Anyone who pledged allegiance to the Dark Queen was an enemy to Rose. She had lost everything and everyone because of her, her family, her friends, her home… Perhaps someday she could create a rebellion that could penetrate the evil touch the Dark Queen. Although Rose had no memory of her previous life, she only knew it was much better than it was now. Sighing, she focused on the task at hand.

Apparently the Seadog was too determined to stop chasing after her, Rose would have to ditch him quickly. She quickened her pace until she came across a basket full of chickens. Laughing on the inside, Rose spilled the basket on the ground and a hoard of chickens was unleashed upon the street. It was enough of a distraction for Rose to sneak down an alleyway and eventually make her way a more darker part of town. She slowed to a nice, easy walk to catch her breath. Not wanting attention, Rose kept her head to the ground and pulled her hood up over her head. While running away from a Pirate was one thing, catching the attention of someone who could probably throw her like a doll, was not on her list for the afternoon.

Rose walked for another ten minutes to make sure no one was following her before she made her way back to the apartment. It was a little small and full of sad memories, but it was all she had. Saidi had owned the place before she passed away… Once Rose and her brother had lived here together too. Anything happy in Rose’s life never seemed to stay long it seemed. Rose had wanted to leave the place at first but there simply was nowhere else to go.

It was a one bedroom apartment, although one could argue the bedroom was the size of a bathroom. Saidi had never cared though, one of her gender and age was content with what she had. Most Pirates didn’t have their own home, instead living in the ships they worked on. The living room was a bit bigger, including a simple kitchen near the one window, which Rose kept closed at all times. She would take no risk in being caught. Spread across the middle of the room sat a medium sized rug with a map leading toward a treasure of some kind decorating it. Two coaches with red fabric were on top of it. Saidi had always loved the rug, giving threats of punishment should they spill anything on it. She never told them why though, although Rose figured it was probably a map from back in her day. Of course, there was no way to be certain. Sighing, Rose took a seat on one of the plump coaches.

Pulling out the heavy bag of coins, Rose decided to finger through her earnings for the day. 260 coins was impressive for one day’s earnings, even for her. No wonder the Seadog had been relentless. He had been a fool for dragging around so much in broad daylight, he was bound be to pick pocketed by someone. As Rose’s fingers touched the bottom of the bag, it wasn’t a golden coin she found but rather was goldish ring with designs indented along the outer side and topped with a dark blue gem.

“Hmm.. This must be the real reason why it was so valuable to him. I wonder how important this ring is? Perhaps I could sell it for a good amount?” She thought to herself, curious at her new discovery. Why would a Pirate being carrying around a ring such as the one she now held in her hand? It was a bit odd, even for her taste. Deciding to go the black market the very next day, Rose slipped the ring over her finger and readied herself for chores. Saidi might not be there to constantly order her to clean, but Rose still wished the house to look relatively nice, if only to honor her guardian.
So I actually didn't change as much as I thought I would, but here are my character sheets. They're pretty much the same thing except a few edits here and there.

Sorry I've been a bit inactive, but The Cursed Child came out so I went to the midnight release lol and had to read it today XDD I shall work on editing my character sheets tomorrow (after I get braces on for the.. second time.. rip) :)
@Lonewolf685 lol I know, but Fei would rather have Chen than it be awkward with her mother.
Fei

As everyone entered the chateau, Fei made sure to stay near Jessi’s side, their precious moment still lingering inside her mind. She was acting like a silly school girl obsessed with her first kiss, but she didn’t really care. It was a moment she would remember forever. The Fei a year ago would have scoffed at the idea of even thinking about romance. How had she changed in such a short amount of time? It was all very strange. All Fei knew was that for once, she felt like she belonged, and that was all that mattered.

The atmosphere around the chateau soon grew serious, and Fei felt herself stand a little straighter and become focused on the topic at hand. Silly thoughts about love would have to be on standby for the moment. Eleonor went on to apologize to the group, promising Fei she would answer any questions she had, something she intended to follow up on. Fei loved her mother more than anyone, but the time had come for her to learn the truth. She nodded slightly at her request to refrain from putting herself in danger, although she felt it impossible to avoid danger as the daughter of the Asgard.

So it seemed another adventure was enstored for Fei’s future. Although the words Eleonor spoke of sounded outrageous and treason, Fei believed every word. It was still hard to believe how broken the Imperium was. Growing up, she had worshipped both her mother and the Imperium supporting her. Now, she didn’t know what to make of it. Perhaps everything that had happened would be remembered forever in history? She wondered what people a hundred years in the future would think of her and everything that had happened. It was a curious thing. Many people went toward Eleonor’s large book about all the relics, but Fei simply stayed back. She wasn’t sure she could concerte holding something of her mother’s past.

One of the Librarian fools they had captured spoke up, wasting valuable time by whining about how weak she was. “Is whining the only thing you know how to do? We’ll have already found a relic by the time you shut up. Why don’t you use the time you have to complain to train?” Fei nipped at the woman, annoyed at her stupidity. They were on an important mission, there was no time for such behavior. Even Fei knew that.

Lorelei continued the conversation by separating the group into teams to take on the different relics. Why she thought she had right to make such decisions was beyond Fei. It was obvious that Fei and Jessi would stay together, but why did she think Chen belonged in their group? Especially because of what had happened within the forest. While she would prefer her mother over an ignorant librarian, it would be rather awkward if she was with them. Had it been up to Fei, Jessi and her would be going alone. They worked the best together, and someone like Chen would simply get in the way. But, Fei kept quiet about the decisions as there was nothing she could do to change. If Chen tired anything funny, this time Fei wouldn’t hold back.
