Hey guys, I'm really sorry for having disappeared like that. in between work, family drama, and having relocated my rping to another site, i'm just entirely forgotten about RPG in my routine.

So i'm here to officially submit my resignation. It;s really not you guys, it's the site. this is a great RP and i wish you all the best fortune.

What did New Jersey ever do to you. ;)

snookie.

that is all
on my end, well, mostly it's really hard to get the motivation to stay on RPG.

don't get me wrong you guys are awesomesauce, but everything on the site is still so clunky and unintuitive (a temporary problem, i know), that it's genuinely hard to remember to actually come down here.

meh, I guess that'll porbably remedy itself once i actually start posting IC though.

right now i;m just biding my time and trying not to forget about this place entirely.
noice
ugh, you know, it's so annoying. I've got plenty of ideas for really interesting powers. but i can't for the life of me come up with any interesting characters to go with those powers.
so, nitemare. is lyger open for interaction yet?

I've got something to do with Lyger real quick, then he should be free for some interaction

sweet, looking forward to it ^_^

also, on the note of mystics, I honestly only consider Legion to be half mystic really. While it''s true that he technically draws his powers from a contract with a demon (not that he's aware of it by any means) he himself does not use any 'magic' and has no magical talent to speak of, and the copies he creates are themselves purely physical too, they are not magical in nature (even if the power that created them is) and they are not affected by magic more or less than anyone/thing else.

truthfully, the only reason i gave his powers a supernatural source was because making his powers (effectively the unlimited replication of matter) a more scientific root could have opened up for him to be way too potential OP down the line.

In practice, he's as physical a super hero as you can get.
hmm, ok, still getting used to the new site layout and re-intergrating this site into my daily routine. so sorry if i drop off for a few days without responding while i get used to all thsi again.

anyways, is there anyone around who woudl be free to interact with Francois?
Oh, thank ye gods this rp is sill alive. You guys were literally my only reason for signing up to the new guild (i've taken the bulk of my rping down to iwakuroleplay.com during the hiatus)

submitting my old character sheet now ^_^

Character you have created: Francois Bianchi
Alias: Legion/Blink

Character Alignment: Walking the Line (though likely to lean on the villainous side)

Identity: Secret

Character Personality: Francois is a pragmatist on the best of days and a ruthless manipulator on the worst. He cares little for anyone or anything besides his own ambitions, though he knows how to pretend that he does. Having discovered his powers and how to utilize them gave him a thrill he couldn't imagine when he compared himself to normal humans, but he world is full of many super powered individuals, and he was far from being the most powerful. He despises the fact that so many supers out there completely outclass him and, feeling that he has mastered his current abilities to their fullest extent, is now on the lookout for any ways possible to either break the ceiling he's hit on his current power, or acquire new and more powerful abilities with which to increase his status. Ultimately, he seeks power simply for power's sake, and will most likely continue to do so as long as there are those who stand above him. As a result he considers himself neither a hero nor a villain.

Uniform/costume: While Fancois does not feel his power is flashy enough that it requires he put on a disguise whenever he uses it, he does have a costume he can put on when he feels discretion is not the best route but wants to keep his identity secret. The costume is composed of a featureless, oval, white porcelain mask with eye slits cut out (he uses red coloured contacts to replace his glasses), a sleeveless, white, skin-tight shirt with a black circle in the middle of the back (he has a white jacket with two black stripes running down the left side of the chest for colder temperatures), and white track pants. He also wears black savate shoes with no socks on and fingerless black gloves. These two accessories are chosen so as to help him in close quarters combat, while only minimally hampering usage of his ability (he can simply kick off the slippers if he needs to use his power through his foot, for example).

His weapons of choice are two black Canne de Combat sticks (often shortened down to cannes) that can be joined together at the pommels in order to make a quarterstaff. when separated the two cannes can be horizontally sheathed in holsters hanging at the small of his back.

Origin Info/Details: Francois is born to a French mother and an Italian father, named after his maternal grandfather Francois Dubois. For most of his life he was a mostly unassuming youth. He was always intelligent, allowing him to pass highschool with above average grades, and was charismatic enough to be held in high opinion by most of his peers, but throughout his life Francois found it difficult to connect to other people. He didn't know if it was because he found his parents to be distant with him as he was growing up or if his above average intellect isolated him from others his age (whom he often considered woefully immature), but Francois never felt he truly had what others consider 'friends'. Oh, he had people he socialized and went out with, even some whose company he genuinely preferred over others', but he never felt he could really depend or rely on anyone but himself, he didn't ever understand what others meant when they said that they could trust someone else with their greatest secrets or weaknesses. This, of course, also extended to his romantic relationships and, beyond a few girlfriends in highschool, he found the dynamics of interacting with a significant other to be too bothersome to ever really invest any effort into them, resulting in short relationships and eventually his decision to ignore the opposite sex altogether. ultimately Francois felt himself to be a solitary man and, surprisingly, was completely alright with that. Not only did he feel incapable of truly connecting to others, he felt no need to do so either. He was the only person he needed to trust, and social interaction was a nice diversion or source of entertainment when he as bored.

He likely would have continued to live a normal, content, unassuming life, emotionally isolated from everything around him while maintaining appearances for practicality's sake. He would have, were it not for a twist of fate that occurred shortly after his 19th birthday. It was during a family vacation in Rome where Francois and his parents were visiting relatives of his father's when the young man came across the most interesting of scenes one night.

While taking a stroll outside in order to get a break from the rowdiness of his Italian relatives and their jubilation, Francois found himself wandering into a art of town that was strangely deserted, seeming completely lifeless. Lifeless, save for the sounds of a battle of some sort taking place nearby. His curiosity getting the better of him, Francois directed himself towards the sounds of the clash, navigating the unfamiliar streets as best he could while trying to void getting lost. Before he could actually arrive on the scene of the battle, however, one of the likely combatants came to him instead. The sounds of the clash had quieted down for a few moments, making Francois believe he may have missed the fight, until a man clad in white and gold turned the corner in front of him. At least, Francois deduced that he SHOULD have been clad in white and gold, were it not for the red stains that covered his person, including one particularly dark red blot that was spreading from his side. Francois had heard of superheroes and the like running around of course, who hadn't? But this was his first time seeing one in person, and it was clear the man was gravely injured. The man looked surprised to see that Francois was even there, most likely due to the deserted state of the city block, but seemed to see a chance in Francois. He held out a small black orb he had been holding, an archaic glyph engraved on it, and told Francis to take the stone and run as far away from the place as he could, to give it up only when agents bearing the mark of the Vatican came looking for it.

Not exactly thinking, somewhat overwhelmed by the sudden development, Francois complied with the man's demand (most likely his dying request) and took the orb in his hand. When he did, however, the orb suddenly started glowing, becoming an intense ball of light in his hands that made him shield his eyes. When the flash subsided, the orb was gone and the glyph previously engraved on it was displayed prominently on the back of Francois' right hand in an ethereal glow. The white clad man in front of him gave Francois a horrified look and, deciding this was all too much to handle, Francois ran away as fast as he could, sprinting back the way he came and not stopping until he'd regained his relatives' house. Inside, he headed straight for the guest room he had been given without acknowledging any of his family members.

He looked at his right hand again but found that the glyph had disappeared. for a moment he felt a sense of relief, but was quickly hit with a massive wave of vertigo and stumbled forward, loosing his balance and falling to the floor, loosing consciousness quickly after. However, his rest was not a peaceful one, as throughout the night he was visited by ghostly apparitions and terrifying shadows in his dreams.

When he woke up the next morning, he could not remember what he had dreamt, recalling only vague images and obscure moments. Inexplicably, however, he did possess new knowledge he didn't have the night before. Suddenly, without understanding how, he knew what power he had been given the day before, and how to use it. He held out his right hand and, out of thin air, appeared a naked, exact duplicate of himself. Suddenly he felt a 'connection' in his mind, everything his duplicate saw, heard, and though, all was suddenly shared with him, and he knew that the duplicate also possessed all of his thoughts, memories and knowledge. The shock to his senses was too great and he was overcome by a wave of nausea before the sudden doubling of the information his mind had to process at once. He had to close his eyes and try to calm himself to stop from vomiting. Once he was calm he began to realize that processing all the information wasn't as hard as it should be. for his conscious mind, the experience was new and nauseating, but his brain was handling the task perfectly in term of actual processing. No, not his brain, his 'brains', 'their' brains. He realized that he was connected to his other self standing before him like computers networked together. Slowly, he opened his eyes and looked at his replication, his features and expressions mirroring his perfectly, both of the boys smiling devilishly and speaking in unity the power that they had been given; 'Legion'.

Francois erased his duplicate and got to work seeing what else he could duplicate, testing the limits of his power. Never had he felt so alive. This power gave him a rush he had never even dreamed about before. Now he was something different, now he was special, now he lived above the droning, boring peers that he had to force himself to be around previously. He had now a taste of power, and he wanted more.

After experimenting with his powers initially in his room, Francois calmed himself down and decided that it was best to be discrete of his abilities, at least for the moment. He didn't use the Power of Legion anymore for the remainder of the vacation and the men from the Vatican that the hero clad in white spoke of never made their appearance.

Hero Type (Select one): Mystic/Supernatural

Power Level (Select one below): B. City Level

Powers (Be Specific):
Francois' ability is as follows, he has the power of 'Legion', that is; he has the ability to be many.

To be more specific, he has the ability to copy himself as well as things he touches indefinitely. What makes him different from the standard copy hero is that, should he and one of his doppelgangers stand side by side, neither of them is the 'real' one. Each one of his copies would be just as much 'him' as the rest, and even if you killed the original, it would not erase the copies, only by eliminating every single one of 'him' that exists could you actually kill him. He and his copies' brains are also linked in a wireless cerebral network, so everything that one knows and sees, the rest know and see as well (however, the network connection can be interrupted, either by displacing one Francois far enough away from the others that their brain waves can't reach one another, or by finding out the exact electromagnetic signal they use to link up wirelessly and disrupting it).

The beauty of his ability is that, while he can only extend the power of legion to himself and things he touches, once he has made something else legion, he can chose which copy becomes the 'real' one, and can delete excess copies at his leisure.

An example of this is; say that someone is about to shoot him with a gun, he could create a copy of himself standing directly to his left and, in the same instant the copy is created, delete his 'original' body that was standing in the bullet's path, (making it look like he teleported a short distance to dodge the bullet to the untrained eye). Or, in the example that he is about to get hit with a much slower projectile by comparison like a missile; he could put his hand directly in the missile's trajectory and set his power to activate the moment it makes contact with his palm, creating a duplicate behind him while erasing the one in front of him, (making it appear as if he teleported the missile behind him as it continues its trajectory).

It is impossible for him to extend the power of legion over living animals larger than a large dog (so of course impossible for him to affect other people) and still difficult for him to replicate whole living organisms that are smaller than such, requiring maintained contact with the thing he wants to replicate for about 15 seconds. He can, however, replicate PARTS of living things with less difficulty. That catch is though that they have to be full parts as understood by the human mind.

For example, while he can replicate/erase himself and moderately sized inanimate objects nearly instantaneously, if he were to catch an opponent's fist in his hand, he woudl have to hold onto it for 5 seconds if he wanted to replicate the person's fingers, making them appear somewhere else, leaving him capable of erasing the ones still attached to that opponent's hand. He woudl need to hold on for 10 seconds if he wanted to replicate/erase the whole hand. However, holding on for 7 seconds would not allow him to replicate/erase all the fingers and 'part of the palm' because that would not be the 'whole hand' as understood by the human mind. He's also incapable of affecting bones or internal organs without affecting the flesh around them unless he is capable of directly touching said internal structure (say, via open wound)

There is also a limit to how big an inanimate object can be before he also needs to maintain contact with it for several seconds before being able to extend his power over it. A small car or an empty dumpster, for example, would take about 5 seconds of maintained contact. Larger cars like pick up truck or a full dumpster would require 10 seconds, and something like a tank would take somewhere around 25 seconds. Anything bigger (like, say, a house or other building) is beyond his abilities. The size of the object also determines how many copies can be made in quick succession. Objects requiring maintained contact can usually only be replicated one (two at best) at a time. The copies themselves can also only be created within a 3 Meter radius of either the original or any other existing copy (so no catching a grenade thrown at him and then 'teleporting' it back to the guy who threw it from 20 feet away, not instantaneously anyways).

Besides his Power of Legion, Francois has no other special traits. His body isn't super strong or super fast by any means (though, yes, he can use his ability to quickly displace himself from one location to another through usage of his ability), he can still die from anything that would kill a regular human, and he of course has no flight or any secondary super power. The only thing one could consider a super-trait is that, when there are several of him nearby, their networked brains can process information much faster than normal. The more of him at work (thus the more brains networked together), the greater his intelligence. However, one should also note that this is limited entirely to his processing abilities, meaning he can resolve problems more quickly and look at a problem from more than one perspective at a time, but any problem that is beyond his ability to solve by himself, were he given an unlimited amount of time (for example, a math equation that only engineers at MIT would have been taught the formulas needed to solve it) would still remain beyond his means (so, no matter how much he can increase his 'intellect' he is still ultimately limited by his 'knowledge').
