Onryo Hunters - A ghost-battling magical girl/boy RP

Hakurei Takamoto

Hakurei steadily walked through the forest her lamp shining a clear view of her surroundings, the balls of fluff on the tip of her shoes swaying with each movement. There was a slight bounce in the young girl's steps, as she made her way through the forest, Hakurei was trying to hurry her steps bouncing through the trees. While she was studying for her upcoming exam she got a notification on her phone talking about a group of zombielike people in the woods near the edge of town.

After some conflicting thoughts and shouting from Aguri, she finally peeled herself off her desk and headed toward the woods. Sending a quick text she transformed and climbed out of her window, 'On my way!'

"Why couldn't we just tell your driver to take us? Also, hurry it up!" The ever so stern voice said as the lamp shook in her hands, clearly irritated from how long the journey was taking.

"Because we wouldn't be able to explain what I was doing here. Also, my father would be notified and that's not fun at all." Hakurei retorted clicking her tongue as she lifted the lamp to shine further through the dense trees.

Grumbling to herself the young girl started to move paces to a fast jog, trees whirled past as she started to come closer and closer near the edge of the woods. She ran past slow-moving people who looked like, well, a zombie. "After them!" With one more groan she was chasing after them following the group of zombie things, they were strange with glassy eye stares and they never reacted when she poked one with a gloved finger. If they were really zombies they could turn on her at any second clawing to eat at her flesh, which did not leave a pleasant image. Slowing down she light jogged behind, them until she could hear chatting and an unfamiliar yell.

A sure sign of other hunters, she could feel it the shake of her fuzzy antennas. "Ah. Sorry, I'm late!" It seemed that Ukiko, Suyin, and Sora had already gathered but she couldn't tell who the other guy was perhaps he was a newcomer. She called waving her hands as she came up to the group, carefully sliding down the terrain to catch up with them. Nervously she put her hands together watching as one after another the zombies slumped onto the ground as if offering themselves to that of higher authority. Hakurei was still quite new to all the hunter business anxiously following after her seniors, she drew light from her lamp flatting it to provide an easy surface for her to stand on before hopping on and following after them.

Abilities:

Hakurei can control the light from her lantern and the light around her to bend to her will which makes her good at both offensive and defensive positions. It's not the best when trying to sneak around in dark places as her lamp is always burning ever so bright.

She can change the shape of her light to fit the situation but often opts to use the less energy-consuming light beam. [ attack varies in size. The shape of the light often varies, sometimes it's sharp knives or heavy shackles, whatever it is it sure is useful.

Personality:

Harukei seems unapproachable, almost like she’s emotionally detached from the people around her causing distance from her classmates. She can be compared to a dragon fruit with a sharp outer shell and sweet inside. She is very aloof and likes to daydream during class instead of paying attention to the lesson

History:

Hakurei comes from a middle-class family, consisting of her older brother, mother, and father. She never had much of a connection with her birthmother's family and spent most of with her father's side of the family. Her parents had a hands-off approach when it came to their children and were almost never home, constantly at small parties to rub elbows with the elite.

Hakurei and Daisuke were practically raised by their grandparents spending their childhood with them. Her grandparents lived in a quaint little village near the Japanese countryside. Fond memories are filled with her grandmother teaching her how to cook, and helping her grandfather work in the field. She enjoyed running through the crops hidden in a sea of green, running past slightly annoyed workers and small creatures. Eating barbecued meats with the faint delicious taste of wood and fresh vegetables. Although Hakurei loved living in the village she was a lonely child, there weren't a lot of children to be around and they were mostly all inside the town nearby. She never went far off the estate and was considered an outsider to the other children in her area.

Hakurei sadly moved back into the city at the age of 13 due to her father wanting her to get a better education. Before she left her grandmother gifted her a vintage oil lamp, Hakurei had it repaired and cleaned up and was pleased to find a diamond in the rust. She then took and passed the entrance exam to a prestigious high school and moved into the student dorms where she currently studies.

Hakurei meet Aguri while she was unpacking her boxes to decorate her dorm. She had placed them on her bedside table but once she turned around to place a couple of books there, she noticed the lantern had lightened itself. Suddenly a seemingly bored voice rang through the room announcing that from this day on Hakurei would be a hunter. Of course, all the young girl did was rub her eyes and tell herself she probably need some more sleep. She was met with another yell from the lamp saying that this was real and she wasn't hallucinating, although Aguri wasn't very talkative Hakurei was able to get the gist of what being a hunter was all about.
