It's Fine But...

I just think it's funny how
all the people I used to know
that'd say things like
"I wish I lived in
more interesting times"
are awfully fucking quiet now.

As promised, a post has been delivered.
Mattias leaned against one of two walls encompassing the alley, giving his cigarette a drag as Allison approached. "Huff, you are really fast I give you that. Since you have time for a smoke I take it you know where we have to look to find our gunner. Mind telling me your plan before you run off again?" He stared at her for a few moments before taking out his cigarette pack.

"You want one?" He asked casually. "Our gunner's got to be that Deon fucker, and yeah, he's here in the city. The whole place reeks of him and his kind. As for a plan? I suppose you and I could just valiantly charge in to whatever fortress of solitude he has himself locked up in. Might be a good way to die." The werewolf shakes his head slowly. "No, I don't have a plan." Just then, Mattias sniffed the air carefully. Peering towards the end of the alley revealed a regal looking man travelling down the street, a gold-topped cane in hand. Mattias recognized Cupid Abatangelo as the man went on his way, not once glancing towards the pair of mercenaries within the narrow backway.

Cupid slowly nodded his head at Jones' words, a gesture the club owner would be unable to appreciate. "Certainly my friend, I will be sure to let you know if anything of the sort happens. Now, I have pressing matters I must attend to." After exchanging farewells, Cupid began an attempt to bring some amount of order to his chaotic desk.

Cupid cursed under his breath before answering the phone.

"It's me, I'll be in the top floor suite. I look forward to seeing you in person. We have a lot we need to take care of. Sadly things will have to be put on a little bit of a faster pace now."

Lips slowly twitching into a smile, Cupid responded. "Excellent. I will be arriving shortly." In mere moments, the vampire was striding out the doors of the Cupid's Kiss, his cane firmly in his grasp.

It didn't take long to find Deon's complex, and Cupid stepped inside without hesitation. Time to get down to business.
@Ceta de Cloyes VV and I went over this, earlier in the OOC. She was going to transition us out of the cabin. :p
@ViolentViolet Feel free to post so this doesn't stagnate.
Hey guys sorry for all of them delays, I'll have a post up tonight or tomorrow, most certainly.
@Lonewolf685 Right, but I was mainly focusing on

"For this RP specifically we thought that it was best to cut the massive amounts of slow paced slice of life on the build-up intro arc and jump straight to where the action begins, since people sign in for a story where they expect to use their characters in a way (in this case, super-powered magic combat with cool pets), I don't feel like it's a good thing to strangle them to another genre, just to build a story that might even be irrelevant later."

Those points. I honestly doubt that this crowd is going to have a lasting effect on the RP as a whole, and that without the crowd the behemoth would have been entirely irrelevant. I'm under the impression that this part of the RP is mainly to introduce us to a potential villain that will be appearing again later on.

What I cannot understand is how EASILY this crowd was swayed by some random conspicuous bystander to turn against the Song Knights that literally just did their job. I am also aware of herd mentality, which no doubt played a part in the crowd's reaction. What I don't understand is how the majority of this crowd is turning against all of the Knights and not just the one that clearly caused the problem. It's an anime trope that I've noticed that nameless non-recurring characters are basically brainless, but while this RP is inspired by anime I also expected some amount of realism. With more introduction we might understand why the crowd is so on edge against these Knights, maybe the latest ones have been lax in their duties, or criminal, or just incompetent, but that isn't explained. Many of the arguments "??? goth loli girl" present are rather weak too.

What I do commend is a system where players are actually punished OR rewarded for their actions. It's good that you include that, yet I somehow have the feeling that the behemoth would have appeared regardless, along with the eventual angry crowd. Correct me if I am wrong.

So I'll apologize now to anyone reading this for my being what may or may not be interpreted as needless belligerence, but I was reading the OOC and sort of got into a debating mood from the conversations that have been held recently.

P.S. Yikes I just reread that and it's not visually pleasant, it doesn't flow well. I'm too lazy to fix it though so "post reply".
@KoL To be fair, it's hard to care about characters that are only being developed in the middle of action sequences. An RP is just as much about story as it is action (usually). If we just wanted to have flashy magic fights with cool pets we'd be on arena right now. I mostly speak for myself but I THINK some people might agree with me somewhat.
I mean I can totally picture a character like Gren wielding a fucking scythe into battle and stuff but I'm worried that in a close on fight he would get rekt.
EDIT: I like your idea of deciding who uses what OOC. Less confusion in the RP.
Meh, he has a bow. Maybe Kain will have some swords or something.
Cannot decide if Gren would be better with a scythe or some sort of particularly painful bladed sword-like weapon.
