Appearance: 5'10”, 200 lbs of mostly muscle. Short cut shaggy reddish-brown hair. Green eyes. Slightly athletic. No apparent scars or tattoos. Has a slightly vacant look, like his elevator doesn't go to the top floor.
Shifter Appearance: 35' 7”, 5500 lbs of pure muscle. Short cut (still) shaggy reddish-brown hair. Massive green eyes. Extremely muscular build. Battle scars galore, no tattoos. Still has a slightly vacant look, like his elevator doesn't go to the top floor.
Abilities: In both human as well as titan forms, he is a master of weapons that are both manufactured as well as improvised, and this does include his fists. His titan form has been known to pick up trees and use them as clubs. He has also picked up opponents and thrown them like boulders. He has enormous strength in both forms, more than his sizes should allow for.
Powers: It has been found out that he has a form of touch based telekinesis, which his human form has some of the ability compared to his titan form. He has enormous strength in his Titan form. In human form, he can physically lift about 400 pounds, and in his titan form he can physically lift about 30 tons.
Background: Philip was born 20 years ago to Margaret and Steven Kreed. They knew he was special early on in his life. And when I say special, I mean in the 'gifted' sense. He was born with a lower mental capacity than most people. Margaret and Steven didn't care, and still loved him no matter his faults. This unconditional love still affects Philip's personality today.
Philip grew up in Longnan near The Academy in China. He was relentlessly picked on as he grew up, but his mother taught him self control. He would only lose this self control whenever his friends (which were few and far between) were picked on or harmed. Kids stopped picking on him after a group of three boys were sent to the hospital, and they'd only pick on his friends whenever he was not around.
Margaret attempted to help Philip with his emotions, showing him unconditional love. This tempered his emotions to become more controlled. She also taught him to keep his mind and hands active by showing him how to whittle. She didn't expect anything from this, just to get him to focus on one thing rather than the world around him. Philip took to whittling like a duck to water. He became a prodigy when it came to his carvings, and his mother was able to sell them to help out with their bills.
Even into his high school years, he only had one friend. Yuna Sakura was his age, even born in the same month, which is why they got along so well. She was like a sister to him, and she enjoyed having him as a 'big brother'. By the age of 15, Philip looked like he was 20 and she looked like an adopted little sister. He was able to make it almost through his Freshman year of high school with her help. Until that one fateful day. Prom.
He wasn't asked by anyone to go, considering he was a Freshman. But Yuna, being a sexy oriental girl, was asked by several people, and she chose to go with one of the guys on the soccer team that she had a crush on. It was just a normal day for Philip. For Yuna, it ended in a worse way than anyone ever expected.
After Prom, Yuna went to an after party with her date. At this party, things got out of hand with all of the alcohol and other experimental party drugs. Eventually, Yuna was found in the hospital with alcohol poisoning, drug overdose, as well as a victim of multiple rape. Philip went immediately to her side, and stayed there for two days while she was in the drug induced coma. After two days, her body gave up and she flatlined. This sent Philip over the edge.
This 15 year old boy stalked and beat her date half to death. Along with the six other soccer player friends the boy happened to be with. The only thing that stopped him was the taser from the policeman that drove by as the beating occurred. Philip seemed like he was going to kill those boys.
The courts wouldn't convict Philip, but the judge felt something needed to happen. As he was about to give a verdict, a man asked to speak privately with the judge. With visible reluctance, the judge agreed. 15 minutes later, the judge returned without the man. The judge, after his own deliberation, told Philip's family that his decision was to remand him to Shifter testing, and that after the testing, he would have no further court ordered punishments.
So, Philip was taken the next day to complete his Shifter testing. The testing was painful and the process was very long. Throughout the entire process, Philip focused on his whittling, attempting to shut out the world around him and the pain that it was giving him. After three days of torture, the testing revealed that he was compatible with the type of Titans known as Giants.
Philip's parents were told of his compatibility, and they agreed to send him to Shifter training. It just happened to be that it was only a few hours away. They were told that they couldn't come and visit, but Philip would be allowed to come home occasionally. So, they sent off their only son to The Academy.
His parents were able to communicate with him through their computers. They had done research on the Giants of legend and sent him stories and pictures of the famous ones, such as Grendel from Beowulf, Atlas and the Cyclops from the Greeks, and Hrungnir and Ymir from the Norse. The next few years were given into these stories, his training, and his weapons. Philip reveled in the fact that he can better protect his friends with his new abilities. Now, he just needed to find more friends to protect.
These last five years of Shifter training has not given him any new friends, just a lot of schoolmates and teachers. He's been too busy with schoolwork, physical training, and weapons training, to make any significant friends. Or at least that's his opinion. He is still mentally challenged, and that's evident to his classmates. Few, if any, seek out his companionship. This realization has yet to reach Philip.
The time is now and the setting has been set.
Personality:Philip is mentally challenged. He is not a moron, but he is slow. He is slow to make friends, but when he does, it's for life. His friends can do no wrong. He furiously protects his friends, and only his friends (and the occasional teacher) can stop him once he's started. That is, unless the target of his fury stops moving. He is generally shy around new people. He's what you would call a 'Pocket Talker' around new people. When around new people, he tends to talk with his head averted as if he's talking to something in his shirt pocket.
When he's around people he doesn't like, he will ball up his fists or start to work on his whittling. He will attempt to ignore them, pretending that they aren't in the area. If they become persistent, then he will leave the area. If he's barred from leaving the area, he'll try to push his way out. And failing that, he'll beat the snot out of whomever is being persistent to the point that they don't want to do that again, leaving them beaten, battered, and bruised.....maybe even a few broken bones. He tends to not like people who don't take care of themselves (hygiene, cleanliness, etc), people who smoke or drink, or people who curse or are not mannerly, which he'll just try to correct their manners.
His mother taught him to keep his hands busy, so he has a block of wood and a knife for whittling said block of wood to whatever is in his mind at the time. These carvings are extraordinary.
His titan form, however, is another thing. In Titan form, he is still shy, but he feels a bit more 'free' to do more with his abilities He remains very polite. Though this form is also mentally challenged, he can be very cunning. Both forms instinctively know how to use anything as a weapon.
Other:He has a love for carving, and will do his whittling at any and every time of the day. He doesn't clean up after himself, and will oftentimes leave a trail of shaved wood as he goes from class to class. His titan form also has this habit when not in combat, but his blocks of wood are generally small trees, and the whittling knife is a normal man's two-handed sword.
