So this took a hellva lot longer than it should have, in part because I lost the original and had to piece together this... thing from chat logs. Anyway, a Big Guy reporting in.

@HereComesTheSnow

Kaia Iona

"Uh, yeah, no shit Sherlock. That's why I asked you."

Kaia, with a smooth motion that brought her hand on her hip and sightless eyes rolling around in their sockets, gave a small snort of annoyance mixed with a fair amount of personal amusement (at Jason's expense, naturally). Someone must've woken up on the complete wrong side of the bed, what with that inspired inflection of his. That, or he was just chronically dull. The symptoms were surprisingly common among the managers Angel and her had worked under in previous towns.

Oh yeah.

With her free hand, Kaia extracted the partly-crumpled note from her shirt with a flourish.

"Think you could read this for me, then?" She asked, before adding helpfully, "The side with the words written on it."
Kaia Iona

"Idunwannna."

A few more minutes of rolling around among two layers of blankets to fend off the demons of Sunshine and Morning ended up with her face up towards what she assumed to be the ceiling, scowling at the sky some floors above. She should probably have gotten moving by now, if only to make sure Angel hadn't gotten lost or wrapped up in conversation with a nice old couple unable to find a way out in his infinite politeness. Right, the note. That wasn't too much of an issue, she could reasonably recognize his hand writing through texture alone, and there had to be at least one other person with working eyes in this inn if it came to it.

With a heave, Kaia let her legs drop to the floor and pulled herself upright, taking a moment to gather her wits after transferring from "quite nearly dead" to "up and walking undead" frames of reality. A few moments of shuffling around the still-pretty-unfamiliar room yielded good results, and she found the note that her hand had swiped away before. Though a glaring hole in her initial plan started to show through as she ran a hand over the paper's surface. Crumpled paper.

Alright plan B then.

Kaia stuffed the note in a safe place, before locating their travel bags and throwing on something presentable to wear.

Taking a breath, she prepared herself for the outside world, and the eventual quest of finding someone. Kaia opened the door, and prompted stepped into a someone.

Oh perfect.

That was... easier than expected.

"Hey are you blind?"

"Hffffffffffnnnnnnnnng"

The sound of an indignant, half-awake, bed-headed Kaia emanated from the only occupied bed in the room.

"Aaaaaaaaaaaangel?" Kaia, for lack of a better word, flopped over to her stomach in what looked to be an attempt at literally rolling out of bed. It was then that the existence of the piece of paper that had been lightly placed over her face became known to her, and she batted it away from underneath her face with a satisfied harumph.

"Angeel that's not funny."

After a moment of silence conspicuously lacking a heartfelt multiple-attempt apology, Kaia frowned into her pillow. He must've waken up before her, which was... surprising, seeing as most mornings amounted to her attempted to drag Angel out from his blanket fortress to commandeer his working eyesight for her own use. It dawned on her that he had left her a note. The gesture was undeniably sweet, yet very, very Angel.

He would figure it out someday.

Hopefully.

With a Herculean effort, Kaia pushed herself up from the mattress and swung her legs over the side, dragging the blankets with her in an attempt to keep the comfort there for a little while longer. It was through sheer force of will alone that she managed to stand upright, take two steps forward in the unfamiliar room, and promptly dropping forward to land on the other unoccupied bed in the room, feet futilely swinging in the air.

"Hmmmmmpphhhhhhhhh."

Whoever made morning a thing was an evil, evil person.
Gonna have to tap out of this one guys, doesn't look like my schedule's clearing up at all. Sorry about that.
@Plank Sinatra@CaasicamMay be a little early to ask, but are you guys still up for this?

Yup, just been a bit swamped as of late, about halfway done with CS. Should have the rest up by today or tomorrow.
Definitely interested. I'll get a CS up today.

Ditto, CS might be a bit later than today, though.

Kaia giggled, the laugh light and lilting, clapping her hands together in excitement. "Oh it'll be fun Angel," the girl chirped, her eyes wide and unfocused gaze gleaming. "Besides, you said we were starting to slow down, right? It could be a nice change of pace. We'll get to uh... see more of the area around..."

Kaia bit her lip.

"Oh right, we'll get to help someone out too, yeah. It's perfec-!" She added, voice cracking ever so slightly.

Her grin turned impish, and she somehow managed to lock eyes with Angel.

As was his MO, Angel was incessantly sweet. He worried her at times, what with the amount of time he spent worrying about her. Kaia listened quietly as he spoke, mostly because it had to have been difficult for him to mention anything even faintly selfish. Honestly, the whole blind-chef-in-training thing was kinda on the wayside for her compared to the chance to travel from one end of this country to the other.

"How about we branch out a bit, then," Kaia started, patting his hand reassuringly. She took a moment to collect her thoughts, the idea forming as she spoke. "Fiore's a big city, lots of people, right? There's got to be some odd jobs, the smaller things the Guilds don't bother picking up."

"You're not just a good cook, Angel." Kaia reminded the mageas she gave him a teasing grin that pitched her voice up slightly.
