Yes, I think we'd be glad to have you. Please PM me, Harine, and Prince your sheet when you have it done.

Aye aye, captain, working on finishing it up now.

All three of you, or just one of the GMs?
Yo.

I'm still interested, if there's room. New season and all got me in the mood.
Kaia Iona

Despite herself, Kaia frowned as the two mages disappeared into the underbrush with a burst of speed, Angel having been quite literally swept off his feet and carried out. Despite herself; which is to say her best half-hearted efforts weren't enough to hide the look of distant... disappointment? Regardless, she had a bad feeling about it as Rei's footsteps sounded more and more distant. Kaia took a second to get her bearings, and wipe away the frown to something more upbeat, before focusing on her surroundings.

It took only a moment for her to identify who she was looking for, their footfalls characteristically poised even with the monotony of their hike, and she slightly lifting her hand to gauge distance. She dropped back and moved slightly to the left to fall in besides Cyare, the back of her outstretched hand lightly brushing up against the cold surface Tactician Mage's armor to both avoid running into her and to get Cyare's attention.

"Hey, so, I don't really know Rei, but I'm willing to bet that him and Angel charging off ahead makes you about as worried as I am," Kaia started, desperately hoping that she hadn't read the mage completely wrong. Her plan kinda relied on that not happening. "You think we should go catch up to them?"

Kaia was already moving to stop the inevitable question that followed, kneeling down just enough to scoop up a small rock. She held it out to where she assumed Cyare could see it, before miming flicking it with her opposite hand. Which, with a small application of her magic, sent the pebble shooting through the treeline. "I can do people too," she added to her wordless explanation.

"So, what do you say, wanna go for a ride?"

With a movement that was more of just fluttering her fingers than a full on greeting, Kaia waved at the swift mage who had quite nearly appeared in front of Angel. He was rather fast, even for her. Though the sheer speed made him stand out like a lighthouse (that was the expression, right?) from the relatively sedate pace of the surrounding trees. She had initially half a mind to join Rei in his bursts through the underbrush, but that would also require that she leave Angel alone with Cy- err, the rest of them.

Speaking of the jungle boy, getting outdoors and out of the city seemed to be good for him, his tone was relaxed, with a clear sort of certainty. He was, she mused, in his element now.

"I'm fine with camping out," Kaia piped up, "Take a break before doing the hike again, maybe we could make something to eat too?"

"Okay, sure."

I decided that agreeing with her was the far easier course of action than attempting to convince her otherwise. I didn't particularly feel the inclination to get into a verbal battle right then, just a physical one was going to be difficult enough, and I had the sinking feeling that she was one of those people that tossed any explanations under "excuses" or "complaints". Absently I rubbed my eye, trying not to think about how absolutely messed up my sleep cycle would be right now, and resigned myself to getting knocked around for a bit.

Fortunately, any response that she might have been ready to deliver was interrupted by the arrival of two others. The first I recognized, the mathematics teacher, who I turned to greet. The second was the taller of the two, a younger student who looked about as thrilled to be up and out as bed as I did. Or maybe I was just projecting. Either way, I gave him a sleepy wave.

For the most part, I was just relieved that it had worked for the most part, seeing as the girl had stopped looking like she was ready to chop someone up with that sword. And, well, berating me for stepping food into the academy (which wasn't really my idea, come to think of it). It was precisely then that the realization of what I had just agreed to/brought up dawned on me, thought I did my best not to let the slow horror and dread spread across my face. She would probably just take it as more ammunition to throw back at me.

"I think this is an excellent idea; she could use the experience."

Of course she picked now of all times to appear and voice her opinion. And promptly toss me under the bus. Instead of helping me out with the aggravated sword-toting girl.

I laughed nervously.

"Right, sure."

"Uh, you don't mean right now?"
Orimono

"I agree," I mused, taking in what the snappy sword-wielding girl had said. She did... kinda have a point. So maybe there could be some improvements made in some, uh, broad areas of my martial ability. Okay, I'm one to admit it first, but I'm certainly not going to be the last to realize it. Despite the fact that she rather obviously wasn't having the most stellar of days-I couldn't have run into her that hard, right?-it couldn't be all just be her venting off some steam. "It would reflect badly on our academy as a whole; I'd hate to be the sole reason for it-"

I stifled a yawn, or did my best too. Talking so much made me kinda light headed. Or maybe it was the impact. Or lack of sleep. Or someone had yawned nearby, I heard they're contagious. Might wanna start wearing a mask. Are they transmitted through the air, or is through sound? Wait, no, I hadn't heard anyone yawn, that couldn't be it. This isn't a very controlled setting, thou-

You're staring.

My eyes widened momentarily, and it took a moment to realize that it wasn't my voice in my head.

Of course, it was then that an idea sprung into my head, and I smiled, only slightly down, towards the girl.

"You seem awfully competent; perhaps you would be able to help my, uh, inattentiveness?"

She did have a sword, after all.

"Oh, uh okay." The set of three words was really all I could put together at the moment. She was shorter than me, but it did nothing to lessen the surprise of the impact. Or the impact of her rather barbed observation. Contrary to what she must have thought about me at that moment (great way to introduce yourself), I wasn't totally blind. So I was rather aware now of the almost literal waves of annoyance rolling off of her, so I did my best not to get pulled under. Drowning in irritation is not how I wanna go out.

I step around her carefully. And then another step to get out of her way for good measure, considering the fact that she's got a sword.

"Thanks. I'll keep that in mind. Uh, sorry?"
@Caasicam ... I'm drawing the line. Don't post in second person. This is neither a CYOA nor a literary contest.

You might want to choose some other place to go, too. Not everyone needs to pile into one room. >_>;

I mean, second person was Crimmy's idea (sorry man), though I can use the usual if needed.

As for the training room, I had no intention of keeping her there; just wanted to introduce her around some other characters rather than not.
