A sense of urgency trails behind at the fringes of my thought processes—I'm not completely confident that my scheduled combat training hadn't started yet—as I make your way through the tiled hallways to the complete other side of campus. This urgency expressed as more than a slight frantic skip in my gait. This was in no small part the result of the fact that the sun had moved only a bit up from the horizon from when I had first closed my eyes this morning to opening them again.

Or maybe it had been a full day? I didn't really have much time to check the time (or date) between throwing on the uniform and opening my eyes enough to wake up; in that order, mostly.

"There's no sense in rushing," came a youthful voice off to my left side, though I don't feel confident enough with my current motor control skills to spare any visual attention away from the strained relationship of the floor and my feet to see which one of them- It? Which side maybe? was speaking. Some days I know exactly who it was, this wasn't one of them. "A few more minutes now isn't going to make a difference."

The voice is slightly more feminine, that and I catch a glimpse of ribbon-bound raven hair as I round the corner. It was blessing that no one else was present in the hall to see my legs forgetting how to work just long enough to half slide, half stumble into my new direction of motion.

"And there is a much faster way to get around." This time from the right side. I know exactly what she's referring to, and it makes my (empty) stomach churn from the thought.

"Oh god, no," I realize the futility of addressing a god with the phrase only after it leaves my mouth. Brain to mouth filter being another causality of possibly under/oversleeping.

Moving five feet was hard enough that way, pulling oneself instantly across the academy was a less than inviting prospect. Being shoved halfway through a wall would be very less than ideal for my state of mind.

Thankfully, it doesn't have to end that way; the door to the training room was just ahead. I slow down to a more sedate pace as you approach, flattening out the wrinkles in my uniform and running a hand through my hair as I go to at least make the fact that I'd been nearly running not immediately obvious. Unfortunately, I were so focused on that, it's not until I pass through the door and run straight into a student (Ruri-something or another?) leaving the room that I realize the facility is currently occupied.

"Oh hey."

Naturally, Omecihuatl chooses that moment to bail on me.

"You uh, wouldn't happen to know what time it is?"

Name: Orimono Chikazu 監物 千量
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Appearance: A 5’ 3” mess of raven hair, midnight-hued eyes that might as well absorb light and happiness, and obscure postmodern punk rock band tees. She is built lithe, her generally active lifestyle being to thank.
Personality: Offbeat, carefree bordering on reckless, and a distant demeanor that could be mistaken as a disregard for the results of her actions.
Skills: Though not a physical powerhouse, she is suitably athletic enough to keep pace with most of her peers. She relies more on her Ritual Device, and the abilities that it grants, more than hand-to-hand combat, though trains out of necessity. Focuses primarily on negating the strength of opponents rather than meeting them head-on and trying to match them blow-for-blow.
Equipment: A pair of thick ceramic bracelets. Their glassy, obsidian surface are inlaid with a spiderweb pattern of lodestone shards. They have no obvious clasps or releases, and suffice to say she is never seen without them. Though two separate objects, they function as a single Ritual Device (and thus cease to function when apart) for Ometeotl, the god of duality and souls. It manifests itself physically as either its male or female aspect, a pair of sullen twins who could pass for her younger siblings, referred to as Ometecuhtli and Omecihuatl respectively. The Ritual Device was given to her by an older sibling, and she is still learning the intricacies of having a pact with a god.
Abilities: The nature of the god that her pact is with allows her, put simply, to link two objects together. These links take the form of ethereal red strands from one to the other. Through these links, she can cause one to take on the properties of another, whether it be temperature, mass, or even velocity. Alternatively, she can bind the fate of them together, causing changes that would have only affected one transfer to the other. This ability allows her to effectively clone objects, granting her the ability to form an arsenal should she have access to a single weapon. This is easiest to accomplish on inanimate objects, though she has had some success with linking herself with something else. Binding a target with itself has the peculiar effect of amplifying its traits in a feedback loop, which she uses to great effect to boost her own physical capabilities beyond what her body could naturally handle.
Brief Backstory: Born to a middle-class family in Tokyo, her childhood was nothing exemplary or particularly notable. Her family’s business dealt with the construction of various modern Ritual Technology, though primarily as a contractor to the larger corporations that designed and sold the devices themselves. Her older brother was expected to attend an Academy, and he had been supplied with a Ritual Device, though he dropped out after a year to help run the business. Not ones to waste, her family convinced her to take her brother’s place at the Academy.
Anything else I need to change on my CS, or is everything good?
Ahh, see, that didn't really come across. ^^; I would say that, not as a nerf but for the sake of making sense, negative aspects should apply as well.

Sure thing.
I think you could actually make that more versatile. Like, say, link a bunch of weapons to use them all at once, break items(not ritual technology, obviously) by linking it to something broken, that sort of thing. Make something light by linking it to a styrofoam cup.

This is exactly how the ability works already. I could give some more examples of its use, if needed.
Oh, right, if anyone's made edits to bios to resubmit them, can you say so again? I feel like I might have missed some things.

o/

heyo. Edited the CS on page 12.
Would that also amplify injuries taken?

It would be possible to do this, yes, but she can simply decide to not transfer that one aspect.
Going incrementally back to my original idea for the ability; how's this look?

That is... the roleplay's entire premise is that a combative tournament is substituting for murdering random monstrous invaders. With an ability like that and fighting skill of 'I know some self defence', you go from 'underpowered' to 'I like glorified suicide'.

I can see several ways it would be useful in combat, but none more actually... worth using than just having a really strong headbutt.

Thought the applications were more than sufficient, I'll buff it up a bit though. Not going to argue against that.
