@CadenGallicQuick question, since this is an academy and our characters are to all be on teams, they would have to be of similar ages, correct? What should the age range be?
Generally around 15-18 in terms of age, I will tolerate going a little over or a little under though.
Diamonds are actually extremely fragile; very cold, lifeless stones. I would actually sughest switching the names of the city and the academy; after all, a Vault is a symbol of security.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diamond#Hardness I'm just going to leave this here. The name Vault was chosen to interlink with both Vale and Vacuo on a naming thing. Also, I would've appreciated it if you were talking to me about this in PM rather than making it a public thing on this board.
I'd like to comment on the names you have chosen; the names of the canon academies all have a theme of protection or hope. Lustre does not follow this theme. Example; A beacon, a symbol of hope for lost souls. Atlas, which holds the world upon its shoulders. Haven, a place of safe refuge. Shade, protection from the heat of the desert. (other note, if you want a sheet which goes into more detail, I've got a rather extensive one which i was using for my RWBY roleplay, which provides a fair bit more depth)

I appreciate the input. But, in this case Lustre is to shine or to be bright, akin to the unbreakable diamond, does that not bring about some idea of hope?
Also I didn't want my character sheet this overly detailed as this is casual roleplay and I want more people to be able to fit into it easier, thanks.
Welcome to Lustre Academy, the fifth hunter academy established in all of Remnant. Here you will have the chance to make lifelong friends, hone your hunter skills, fight as part of a team and grow as a person. But tread carefully, an ugly truth hides in the shadows, waiting to rear it's head and unfold the history of Remnant. Prepare for the worst and fight for your allies and your future.
Around 10 years ago, the world of Remnant faced a peculiar crisis. Not a crisis of any fantastical nature such as the growing threat of the Grimm, nor any threatening individuals. No, the problem Remnant faced was simplier.
Overpopulation.
As more small settlments were overrun, be it by Faunus radicals or hordes of Grimm, many were flocking to the Kingdoms of Remnant, Vale, Vacuo, Mistral and Atlas. And as these kingdoms took more and more under the safety of their walls, space became finite, resources began to run out and it seemed they were on the verge of potential collapse.
The governments of the four kingdoms came together to discuss possible solutions for this growing crisis. The talks went on for days aboard a special Atlas built council ship. Finally, a solution was drawn up between the four kingdoms. The birth of a fifth kingdom. The creation of a new living space would give new rest to the wandering masses and could even allow them to mark more land on Remnant as safe, something becoming increasingly difficult.
The kingdoms pooled their resources and gathered an army of loyal soldiers and cunning hunters and marched across the land, one side from Vacuo and the other from Vale. The two armies converged inbetween the two kingdoms and began the building of the fifth kingdom, a kingdom that would come to be known as Vault. In the coming years, the men and women of the four kingdoms worked tirelessly, guarding the encampment and beginning construction upon the new kingdom. Their terrain was favourable, the land surrounding what would become Vault was rocky, craggy and lined with natural defences, fissures and high rising stone they would incorporate into their kingdom's defenses.
It took almost an entire year, but soon, from the crags and splits in the land, the kingdom of Vault arose, a township with defensive keeps manned by Atlas technology and brave men and women. A new hunters academy was formed to train what would become its populace, seeking out an old but wise ex hunter and inventor to become its headmaster. This, became Lustre Academy.
Now, 10 years have passed since Vault and Lustre Academy was formed. A mining community has formed out of the township as a vast deposit of dust crystals have been found underneath the earth, springing the kingdom into economical prosperity and dust based technologies have benefited greatly. Lustre Academy has garnered something of a reputation of being too soft as it is currently the easiest hunters academy to apply for with lower standards than even Beacon, however its graduates have proven unto the world they are no slouches in the act of hunting.
But even now, rumours abound of criminals making the kingdom of Vault their home. With such prosperity brings the ones from the shadows. Dust Runners have been sighted in the area and have been making raids on various locations. The White Fang, however, has not shown their face there. Some wonder if Vault and Lustre Academy are truly safe and the governments of the other kingdoms still watch their little experiment to see if it will truly be a success...

Face: Facial details, sharp nose? High cheekbones? Facial scares? Hair: Include colour, length and style. Eyes: Colour and junk. Skin: Colour again.
Frame: Skinny? Beefy? Lanky? Stocky? Height: How tall are you? Weight: How heavy are you?
Personality: What's your character act like? Include positive and negative traits.
Weapon: Break it down, basically what is your weapon? E.G Sword, Spear, Axe etc. Weapon Name: All cool people give their weapons pet names. Weapon Functions: What can your weapon do? Does it have alternate modes?
Armor/ Clothing: Watcha wearin? Can include casual wear and battle dress. Semblance Name: What's it called? Semblance: Describe the abilities of your semblance. What are its limits? Also don't make it ridiculously overpowered.
Strengths: What are they good at? Can include physical and mental strengths. Weaknesses: What are they bad at? Can include physical and mental weaknesses.
Bio: Their history and details about their life before Lustre Academy. Where were they born? What made them want to be a hunter?
1. All of RPG's usual rules. 2. No godmodding whatsoever. 3. GM's word is law but if you have questions for character building or certain situations, go ahead and PM me. 4. Post length and quality. I generally expect decent quality but don't feel too bad if every post isn't two paragraphs. For battles and simple actions, I don't mind short paragraphs. No one sentence posts though, ideally. 5. You're starting out as semi experienced and you'll grow overtime, so put some work into the arc of your character's powers and strengths. 6. I generally expect a fair amount of attention and not getting left behind. Make sure to PM me if you're going to be away for a while, I will listen. 7. If you get hit, take the hit. No miraculous dodges if a post explicitly states you take damage. I guess this plays into rules 2 and 3 but... eh, I like to be careful. 8. If you are applying with a character, post their description in OOC first. I will alert you if it's ok to move it to the character page. 9. This is for the entrance exam and later forming of teams. I'll be deciding the teams based on performance in the entrance exams so don't go expecting too much.
Well I suppose just don't make them completley overpowered and have them have sensible limits. There will be characters whose semblances heavily influence their style but they will still have drawbacks to using it.
This is something i've been sitting on a while now.
So essentially, RP in the RWBYverse at the same time as the main plot, set in a newly developing Kingdom and Academy. Plot will be there but it'll be taking a different route to the main story of RWBY with some AU history and lore going on. Occasional cameos and appearances from the existing characters but mostly OCs.
