Disregard this.
Would anyone be interested in some good old fashioned Lovecraftian horror?

I'm out. This had potential but seeing how you can lead a research in a mere month and how failures have no explanations or apparent cause other than the obvious dice throw, meh. In theory there's nothing preventing greece or poland from obliterating the Russian army (Chechenya resists for 3 months now.), since it's all... a dice throw.

Would your interest in the game continue if I proposed a revision to the die-roll mechanic?

Basically what I had in mind was a completely new way of writing the character sheets (similar to rolling a DnD character) which would account for a more realistic outcome on the die roll.

You nation would have a set of attributes and then a list of skills associated with them. You would have a numeric value for your nations ability to conduct diplomacy, to make war, to work industry and scientific endeavor, and what ever else is necessary, and that value would modify the roll. Nations could even "level up" if that's what the players want to do. I haven't worked out exactly how this system is to work yet, but it is something I'm willing to work on in order to strengthen the game.

Thoughts? Discussion? How do you feel about it as the GM, Rex?

This RP is very interesting, posted.

Very glad for it, too. I had begun to think it had fizzled out.

Ideally, I want to see five to ten more people posting stories from all corners of our world, and together we can fill the gaps in our knowledge of the story. This is a strictly player-driven game. I'm thrilled to see a new post in it.

That being said, I'll have a post written in time for soon.

"Kid relax, your gonna come back just fine." Knight said taking the tag just to settle him down, he had seemed nervous about his first combat mission "Most pilots aren't killed first day on the job, beside your a natural at this, so when you do get back tell her about it kid. If you don't wait to long." Knight sighed lifting the two chain around his neck, where he kept his dog-tag and a necklace of his fallen comrades tags, you can all see nine other tags on the necklace, on his dog-tags chain it he places Dylan's tag right beside his own. "Drop time is unknown, we are to go on standby until the General gives us the green light. The moment we know is the moment we go. Any more questions?"

Jack lit his cigarette and took a long puff, letting the smoke fill his lungs completely before letting it all back out again. "What are we up against here, Captain?" he asked. "Pro-Russian Poles, or have the boys from Moscow hit the ground already?" It may have seemed like a useless question. What difference did it make, exactly who was shooting at them? In Jacks mind, it made all the difference in the world. The Poles themselves would be under equipped and poorly trained. Fish in the proverbial barrel. If they were reinforced by Russian regulars already? Why, that was a whole other animal altogether. One that would require a much bigger gun to hunt.

No they aren't useless. Think about it. Some of the mechs are walking tanks. A mine or something of the type could wreck it if strong enough.

Not to mention the long, grueling process of door-to-door combat. You need a demo specialist in order to breach and clear some buildings. The EOD operative will always have a home on the front lines.
If one were to observe Warrant Officer Jackson P. DuBois in his natural habitat, one might notice first the thick layer of grime coating the majority of his uniform, or perhaps the slight sulfury smell of molten metal and burnt slag that hung in his cloths might make the first impression. Regardless, nothing about him was less inviting than the sound of his voice. Slow, almost monotonous, the word that rolled off of his tong were articulated and to the point, "It's about damn time."
As a man who had spent the last eight years in the Eastern Bloc, Jack could honestly say that the was was no surprise. In fact, he was almost happy that the conflict had gone hot. Only the thought his comrades facing death could sober his thoughts.
In due time, the Warrant Officer made his way to the Patton for briefing, as were his orders. Seeing Captain Locks nearby, Jack tendered a short but respectful salute.
"Are you ready for the big one, Captain?" He asked grimly. "This won't be any Afghanistan or Syria. No hearts and minds idealist crap is going to do us any favors. This is the real deal." The Warrant Officer, waiting for reply, reached into a pouch on his vest with the swagger that only a true Frenchman could manage and retrieved the nickle plated cigarette case which lived there. Placing the end of one loosely in his mouth, he offered a second smoke to the Captain.
Economic
Ensure logistic support to troops now stationed in Egypt. (Create Supply lines)
Donate money to public works programs in Iceland.
Sell armaments to Greece. (Rifles, assorted ammunition.)

Political
Release propaganda film in Iceland. "A strong people are an armed people." (Promote militaristic policies.)
Recruit government employees to company interests. (By the edge of the dollar or the blade of a knife, if necessary.)
Promise to create more jobs for the peoples of Iceland, such as with the public works programs.

WAR
Dig-in troops in Egypt, prepare for next move.

Fortify the headquarters in Iceland. (An industrial compound in on the coast, closed to the public.)

TO RUSSIA:
How would you like to have an ally deep in the Atlantic? I've got some pretty big plans brewing, and I need big friends before I set them in motion..
Goodness, you fellers have been busy, haven't you?

I was intentionally planning the cultures of the continents in comparison to the real-world to be so:Lithsagna: American-European (Democracy)Racksdin: African (Monarchy/dictatorship)Planned continent, Damaran: Middle-Eastern (Monarchy/dictatorship/maybe democracy?)

I approve. However, if you go with a middle eastern theme for the third continent, I would recommend a culture similar to the middle east under the Ottomans rather than what we think of the region today. There should be luxury and wealth, large ornate religious centers and government buildings. Make it classy.

Just a thought, though. I'm game for anything this RP produces.
