"This is gonna be a long trip." Emmett thought to himself. He had hitched a ride with some teens on a pickup truck, hoping to catch a ride to The Cobbs. They shared a few beers along the way and got fairly buzzed, but when the hard drugs started coming in, the others decided they 'didn't want no shitty bum hijackin' their truck' and Emmett bailed out of the moving vehicle before they decided to bring out the blunt weapons.

The highway was completely deserted, save for a few stray cars here and there. He had no idea where he was, or even if the truck was heading to The Cobbs in the first place. Hell, he could be in Australia for all he knew. Emmett felt dizzy. The sun beat down on his uncovered head, and Emmett was still slightly drunk. Before he knew it, he was on his hands and knees violently ejecting the alcohol in his stomach onto the dirt. He stayed there for a few minutes, just to recover. He took a drink from his bottle. The cool water helped his head somewhat, and soon, Emmett had enough strength to get back on his feet and try to get some bearings.

"Well," he thought to himself, If I'm going to make any progress at all, I'd better find my way to a town. I guess that means I'll have to hitch another ride then." Taking a deep breath, he started walking along the side of the highway, looking for any cars that would stop for his stuck-out thumb.

Some Backstory (optional.): He's a hitchhiker, but was ditched on the side of the road.

Strengths (Try to be specific and not choose a lot of wide scope skills e.g. combat. Instead, choose something like brawling, or wrestling, or firearms.)
1. Flexible living standards
2. Can drive stick-shift
3. Intimidating with any weapon
4. A hard worker

Weaknesses (Try to have sensible weaknesses. Having weaknesses doesn't mean it's crippling, but phobias are welcome. Try something like "Sucks at directions" or something solid like "swimming". Yeah, I'm not good at swimming.)
1. Hoarder
2. Hasn't showered in months

Backpack (Just put items in. I'd love it if you're reasonable with the items and not try to cram a lot of stuff that it becomes weird. Bring stuff that your character should be bringing. Like clothes. Cash. Food. A death ray.)

Jack ran-walked up the flights of stairs to his apartment, jammed the keys into the hole, and slammed the door shut as soon as he slipped in. Leaning on the door, he breathed a sigh of relief. Thank God. Each day out there is another day of hell, and one of his only places of peace is the safety of his apartment. Unfortunately, Jack never bothered to clean up except for the odd occasion, so the place was filthy. There were cans and food wrappers everywhere that he never picked up; the floor had dirt stains trailing away from the door to the rest of the house; and a distinct odor was in the air that smelled something like pizza and sweat. Hey. It's home.

He made his way across the living room, to a desk in the corner of the room. From his pockets, he pulled out all the items he had taken that morning on the subway, and placed them on the desk like a forensic scientist would place evidence on a table. Jack inspected the items. The watch was cheaply made and the paint was wearing down on the edges. The phone had a password, and the owner seemed to be a animal fan, judging by the fox background. The headset and headphones were, well, Jack had no idea what to look for, so he just set them aside. The train tickets probably ruined two people's morning. The wallets were all fairly high quality. Jack almost always hits the mark when it came to wallets. The cash was just cash, enough to get by and a tiny bit more.

And then there was the pin. Jack looked at it quizzically. This isn't the type of thing he would normally pickpocket. He held the tiny thing in front of his face, as if there was some detail he was trying to focus on. No, it was just an average safety pin. It opens and closes and pierces clothes easily, like it should. It was so unnatural for him to steal something so inane. And yet, he couldn't bring himself to throw it away, partially due to the lack of bins around the house, but mainly that there was something off about it that Jack couldn't quite understand. It must have something to do with that girl he bumped into just now.

For now though, Jack opened one of the drawers and pulled out a false bottom on the drawer to reveal a stash of things he had stolen over the years, where he deposited all his new things. Then he thought again and pulled the pin out of the stash and slipped it into his most hidden pocket. There's something up with that girl, and Jack's not going to forget her anytime soon.
Is this RP still accepting applicants?

Goddammit I leave for 10 minutes and I've found out I've broken continuity

Just reread some of the previous stuff. Goddammit. I want to change it, but I'm lazy.

Screw it. It's staying, and my head is lodged firmly into my desk.
Jack walked down the road. Under his jacket was the morning's earnings, hidden within a multitude of pockets. He knew the way back to his apartment by the landmarks; the subway exit, the bus terminal, the nut vendor (breakfast), the parking lot, the alley with the peeling pa- oof!

Jack turned the corner of the alley onto the street when he walked straight into a dazed looking girl. His mind instantly ran into panic mode, laying out his options: Run? Walk? Go back? and somehow, what he ended up blurting out was "Oh crap, are you alright?" to the girl.

The girl looked like she snapped out of it, but was confused. Jack looked around; there were people looking at them. 'Fuck, can't look suspicious' he thought. Nervous, he tried to look concerned for the girl he bumped into. "Are you okay?" he asked.

"I'm fine" she replied as she did her best to ignore Jack. Jack, internally, was relieved. 'Good. She walked off. I'll just be on my way then.' He walked off in the opposite direction of the girl and had turned the block when he noticed he had something new hidden in his hand. He must have stolen it out of habit. He took another look around the street before opening his hand to reveal...a safety pin? Jack was surprised, but dropped it in a pocket quickly, and hurried off to the shelter of his apartment, lest he walk into someone else.
@Akayaofthemoon Is there anything in particular you want 'missing'? Otherwise, I'll just go for her purse or phone or something.
