Bio

Welcome to my profile page

You found it

I guess it really isn't that hard though either.

I've been on this site for two years and I haven't written a bio, but I figured it's better late than never :P

I like to play a variety of different characters, but most tend to be humans in a modern setting. I feel like I tend to relate better if they're human, and I like roleplay plots that center more around the characters themselves and character development, versus magic or some "quest" going on.

My favorite genres are modern, slice of life, horror, and a good helping of romance on the side. However, I dislike 1x1 roleplays and like for romance to be a casual side plot rather than the center of the roleplay.

I enjoy characters with unusual personalities, but are fairly normal and well adjusted. They don't need pages of backstory or personality, they just need to sound believable to me.

I started roleplaying online about 7 years ago, and I was doing tabletop roleplaying a few years before that. I still actively participate in table top games, and my interest in roleplaying online waxes and wanes.

I like to write a lot, but I find the standards in a lot of advanced roleplaying sections to be rather intimidating, so I stick to casual or free roleplays.

I (like many other people on this site), think wayy too much about their characters and their backstories. I really hope to animate one day or get my characters out to the world in a more professional way, but for now I enjoy roleplaying them and seeing how they change and develop.

Thanks for reading :)

@White Alice I look forward to seeing your character!
@AGenericUser My character's just a physical embodiment of awkwardness. Feine's really funny to me though, it keeps this roleplay entertaining. I plan on posting sometime today, since I took a break over the weekend.

Floyd nodded his head slowly. For some reason he couldn't quite place, Rose looked unnerved. He figured she must've had a bad day that he didn't really care about hearing, so he didn't ask. Wind overall looked like a pleasant person, but she also looked like a ghost. He'd have to ask her where her body was later. Thinking about it, Rose looked a little unusual too. He couldn't tell if the flowers in her hair were real or fake, and her skin had a certain flush to it that looked redder than normal. After taking this in Floyd listed off his string of questions,
"Do you have a lab here? Or a morgue? Or a cemetery? Any place that holds corpses?"
He spoke very quickly with an intense expression on his face.
"Oh, I guess you can show me around too."
He added as more of an afterthought.
@ReveTheDreamer

Floyd was strolling down a well worn path in the forest, with the letter of invitation in his hands. He was studying it as he walked. When he came to a fork in the road. The letter says to turn here? No, I need to keep going straight. why am I so bad at directions? Floyd shook his head and stuffed the letter into his satchel, instead pulling out a few knuckle bones and fiddling with them as he proceeded down the road.

A few wrong turns and a ripped letter later, Floyd spied a large gate ahead. Beside the gate were two figures. He thought he saw one floating. Floating? He took off his glasses and cleaned them, just to make sure he was seeing this right. Eager to find out who this mysterious person was, he picked up the pace. When he got closer, he could see the two strangers better. One was short with pink hair and the other one who appeared to him to be floating when he first saw her, wasn't floating anymore. I must have imagined it... He thought disappointingly.
"Who are you two?"
Floyd said, sounding slightly suspicious. He was still fiddling with the knuckle bones he held in his hand. He leaned out and looked past these strange beings and saw several buildings behind the gate with people meandering about. He rose his eyebrows at this.
Since the dawning of human civilization, Mesopotamia, there have been Gods and Demons. Immortal, Impeccable, Untouchable forces of cosmic beauty and immoral savagery. Beings so great in stature, so irresolute that every plant, animal and man could do nothing more than quake in awe at such a visage. The golden era of deities had begun.

Slowly though, as the tides of time rolled and the wheel, the cart, the moat, and the lance were invented, humanity gradually became less dependent on the cosmic entities that presided in Heaven or dwelled in Hell. The demons never forgot. As timeless beings, yesterday is as 300 years' ago tomorrow is. So patiently they waited, they stewed over in Tartarus, bathed in the river of Styx. Explored the black depths of the Abyss, roamed in Abaddon. Despite the now lost reverence humans had for their mythical entities as they turned to their New Gods, humans still died. Souls of the twisted were condemned to spend the rest of their pitiful existence in Hell. Where those human souls ended up was a gamble, a spin on the wheel of fate. Some were whisked away and torn asunder by the hungry pit devils. Others were fugitive souls, traipsing the Underworld in fear of their lives. Yet others still joined up with different demonic factions, or were coerced too, aligning themselves under a particularly powerful Demon Lord in hopes of one day achieving that lofty status of an Archdemon.

You are a Demon Lord. There are differences all across the board, age, soul count, reputation, abilities, duties. Regardless of those differences, there is still something every Demon Lord has in common with another, and that is the dependence upon the souls of humans. It doesn't matter whether demons admit it or not, new souls are a crucial part of the life cycle in Hell. It affects the Demon Lords even more so than the rest of the demon populace. Without human souls, you will perish.

For thousands of years, the income of human souls has remained relatively stable. There are fluctuation from time to time but the fact that souls came was always constant. Until now. Beings from the Outer Planes, the Forsaken Beings older than time itself have come to reclaim Earth, jeopardizing all of demon kind. With pallid grey skin and their clammy four digit fingers, they lurch about the human streets on the surface. They have one advantage over that of the demons, the ability to flawlessly and masterfully shape change into a human being, or anything for that matter. They have no souls, but in a human form, it is very difficult to discern whether they are truly human or the aberrant creatures that have all of Hell ablaze.

Demons, despite their long jointed history with humans, have never been able to as skillfully traverse the surface world. Smaller demons could sometimes get away with it as could extremely powerful demons, but the more powerful the force, the harder it is to remain on the surface. Since the curse cast down upon them from the angels, whenever a demon takes another form, they have a painfully obvious trait that remains throughout all forms. The Forsaken have never had this problem, as they lost interest in Earth long before the era of Angels and Demons.

But now they have come back, and the soul count into Hell dwindles each day. There have been an alarming number of reports concerning the mysterious disappearances of humans on the surface. The Demon Lords quickly assembled a counsel and elected representatives to travel to the surface and investigate the business, as well as exterminate any of the extraterrestrial beings they find. The Forsaken aren't the only problem while traversing on the surface. While they are the major threat, there are also ruthless exorcists who probe the seven continents on the lookout for demons. While they normally aren't an issue, being mortal and all, you have found out that a lot of your power has been sapped. This is most likely due to the lack of souls which you need to survive, as the dark desires of the human heart fuel you. So far, they have only proven slightly dangerous in numbers, though you seem to be drained of more and more energy each day you spend on the surface. Nevertheless, you and your new companions are determined to drive out the Forsaken who have come to snatch away your domain.

Rules
  • No one Demon Lord may have the same duty or preside over the same thing
  • Character conflict and drama is encouraged
  • More of a note than a rule, but this is a fast-paced, Mystery/Action roleplay. You are expected to post at least once a day.
  • This goes without saying, but no omnipotent characters. There's a fine line between "Extremely Powerful" and "Over Powered". If you have questions about your character, feel free to PM me or @QueenNugget first.
  • Post in OOC first so @QueenNugget or I can accept it. You may then move it to the CS tab once you have our permission.
  • Paragraphs don't have to be very long, just don't go and do one-liners and you should be fine. Just realize the less detail you put in your post, the less detailed the response is going to be.
  • Demons have one human form and one animal form they take while on the surface. This is because being in their true demon form is very straining when they aren't in Hell.
  • No player or demon number limit as of yet! Applications will most likely always be open!

Fillan was startled by the hand that suddenly appeared on his shoulder, he quickly glanced upwards to see it was Kludd. He couldn't say he was surprised by this, but it still found it pretty weird. Is he trying to support me? What's he trying to do here? This is just making things more awkward...He shot Kludd an unreadable expression before looking back at Ashley.

"Oh, um, Ashley. That's a pretty name."A speck of dirt on the ground suddenly caught his interest. He shifted his feet slightly. Out of the corner of his eye, he could see another guy who he hadn't seen before with really pale skin that contrasted with his pitch black hair. He was standing a little ways off, eating a granola bar. Is he watching me? I think he's watching me. This is too much, I need to get back.

"Um, well it's uh, nice to meet you, Ashley. I thought it might be good to introduce myself to um, some of the students here in case we um, have any classes together. It's been pleasant um, talking to you. Maybe we can um, talk again sometime." Fillan attempted a weak smile to mask his anxiousness but he doubted it actually worked. He tried not to run back to his table and hide his face behind a stack of math packets.
@ReveTheDreamer

Fillan could tell Kludd wasn't taking the whole move to a new school very well. In a way, it made him feel bad. He did suggest that they go to this school in the first place,
"That does um, sound pretty bad. It's um, a good thing he didn't um, take off with your wallet. Hopefully um, class will start soon. Most of the students should be settled in by, um, then."

He mumbled to Kludd as he nervously fidgeted with his pencil. Surely not all these students are that bad. Maybe that kid just had a rough day or something. Moving to a new school can be really hard on everyone. That girl with the brown hair and tanned skin was still sitting over there at the table, alone. Why isn't she with the others? Aren't those people her friends?

@QueenNugget
Without another thought, Fillan rose from his seat and walked over to the wooden table she was at. He couldn't tell if she had noticed him or not yet so he spoke up,
"Hey um, are you alright? You're just um, sitting there. Oh, well it's fine if you want to do that too! Uh, I'm um, Fillan...what's your name?"
Fillan said the last part softly and looked over his shoulder. He was sorta starting to regret this.

@ReveTheDreamer

Fillan finished his math packet and leaned back in his seat, going over all the events that had occurred today. He could easily say this was one of the busiest days he'd had in a very long time. Instead of pulling out another packet from his bag, he gazed out a window absentmindedly. How long has it been since Kludd left? Maybe I should've followed him out. Who was that kid anyways? Is he a student here at this school? What did he do anyways?

Turning his head, Fillan could see that students were gradually starting to crowd around the boy with the green scarf. He could overhear some of what he was saying, and the blonde haired girl was offering him some cookies as well. Fillan was torn between going over and interacting with the mingling students or hanging back like he had been doing for the past hour or so. It looks like such a large crowd though, I should probably wait...Then he noticed a girl still sitting at the table, the same girl with brown hair who had been pointing at him and Kludd earlier. Maybe I should go over and introduce myself to her. She looks pretty lonely. Maybe she needs-

Heavy footsteps and ragged breathing interrupted Fillan's thoughts. Staggering back to his seat, Kludd crumpled at the table and looked worn out. I really hope something bad didn't just happen.

"Are you um, alright? I didn't see what went on but it um, doesn't look like it um, went over well..."
@OliveYou Yeah, I understand. I was wondering about @Metamore as well, because people new/who hadn't yet posted I thought might pick up on the interaction hook they tossed out there. It seems I miscalculated.
