Physical Appearance: Alex, lacking much meat and small-framed, has the general appearance of someone who would be very short. However, she’s just about average in height. Though not quite underweight, she is definitely close, and isn’t very curvy nor busty. Due to this and her shorter, shaggy hair, she is often mistaken for being a younger boy. This is no problem to her, though, as she tends to identify with her more “tom-boy”ish side.
As mentioned above, her hair is a bit wild and shaggy, going down just past her chin. Normally, she doesn’t style it, and instead allows it to bask in its curly, unpredictable glory. The look goes with her tanned skin and dark eyes well, giving her an almost untamed look. Despite the edges to her appearance, she has very soft facial features. Her face is round and innocent looking, the shape accenting her high cheekbones well. Though her nose is a bit large and hooked, the quirk almost adds to the child-like softness. Most of the time, Alex won’t bother with makeup, but for special occasions will wear lipstick and give herself a classic smokey-eyed look.
One of Alex’s bigger insecurities is something few even notice (partially due to her attempts to cover it up): A birthmark on her left shoulder. About three feet in radius, it is an almost perfect circle, and is situated just above her collar-bone, and slightly closer to her neck than to the edge of her shoulder. The skin here is just a few shades darker than the rest, and so while noticeable, the mark is by no means gross like she thinks it is.
Attire: Though she values her appearance to some extent, Alex isn’t known for going very far out in fashion. She leans toward more “edgy” clothes, and on colder days will wear a black leather jacket. Most days, though, she will wear skinny jeans, boots, and a T-shirt or flannel. A couple times a week, she’ll switch the T-shirt and flannel out for a vest, sweater, or something else that involves a bit more effort. Most of the T-shirts that she wears are band or DJ shirts, as she is very into music. Some also have pop culture references, or puns.
Personality
Outward & Innate Personality: Alex is the type of person that would be described as selfless, wise beyond her years, and an endless giver. Though she does, indeed, make an effort to reach out to those in need and befriend people of as many social and ethnic backgrounds as possible, she is guilty of finding herself judging others for more changeable characteristics. She is always as pleasant as possible to all those around her, though inwardly, she often critiques fashion choices, level of intelligence, political outlooks, musical tastes, and other such traits. This is covered well, though, and she internalizes all of these thoughts. Also, the observation that she is constantly trying to give is very much true, but she often sees past those in need directly around her. For example, a friend may come to her with a problem, but she will pass it off as attention-seeking or pointless drama, and instead focus on donating to charities when, in fact, the friend is in a dire situation. Put simply, she views many directly around her as lesser, and those she doesn’t actually know as a priority.
Hobbies/Interests: More than anything, Alex loves music and always has. She has played the piano since she was four, and has since grown to love all different genres and has begun DJing. Music has always been a huge part of her life, and now, if asked about why she is so passionate about the subject, she will say something along the lines of “Music is a language everybody speaks.” Going with a similar worldly theme, Alex also loves to cook and eat all sorts of food. Though she is best with Puerto Rican cuisine, she is slowly teaching herself more variations of different dishes and is thoroughly enjoying discovering all the foods the world has to offer.
Skills/Talents: Alex is wonderful with music. As mentioned before, she has played piano since she was four, and has spent her life since then trying to master the instrument, among other instruments. She can play multiple other instruments casually, including the violin, guitar, drums, saxophone, and banjo. In recent years, though, she has gotten very heavily into electronic instruments. She has a Launchpad and FLstudio, that she has slowly been mastering and now uses these to create remixes and electro music, tossing in bits from other real instruments as well. She only owns a keyboard, violin, and guitar, so she doesn’t often get the chance to use the other instruments.
As for cooking, Alex isn’t the best. Though she is improving, she can really only make the basic foods that her mother has been making with her all her life (ie, empanadas, fried platanos, and other puerto rican cuisine.)
Alex is also a very skilled reader. She doesn’t enjoy it much and would rather be out discovering the world on her own, but when she does pick books up she impresses those around her. She is able to get through books in incredible times, and has an immense vocabulary despite not spending much time reading or looking into new words at all.
Prized Possession: Alex absolutely adores her guitar. It used to be her father’s, but he gave it to her before she moved to America, and so it is one of the few things that she keeps that reminds her of home back in Puerto Rico. Going with this, her Launchpad is a close second on her list of valued items. She has only had it for three years or so, but it has enabled her to explore music more than ever before.
History/Bio: (I will PM you more if you want, but I would like to keep it in the down low for development.) Alex was raised in Vieques, Puerto Rico. She attended public school here until shortly after her fourteenth birthday, when she and her mother moved to America to live with her aunt and uncle. Her powers since grew stronger, and she was invited to the academy three years later.

Abilities
Power Class: Extra-Sensory
Power: Alex is skilled in both projective and receptive Omnilingualism. This means that she can pick up on language and understand what is being said in foreign languages quite easily, and with effort, project what she wants to say into other’s languages. Though understanding language is second nature to her, she can only understand what is being said, and this doesn’t mean that she automatically learns the language. Learning is certainly easier, but it isn’t as if she can automatically speak every language ever. And, to be able to project words into one’s mind in their native tongue is quite difficult for Alex to do. Though with experience it is becoming a bit easier, the process is still quite tiring and she avoids bothering with it most of the time, as afterward it is immensely harder to understand what is being said.
Alex also has the capability to pick up on Electronic communication, meaning that she could sense radio waves and even communicate with technology. Though she has barely touched the surface of this branch of her skillset, she could train herself to improve upon her technological abilities. At first, it would take as much energy as projective omnilingualism, but possibly, it could become much easier.

Weaknesses/Limitations/Drawbacks: As stated above, projective omnilingualism is quite difficult for Alex to perform, and it hinders her receptive abilities as well. After a long period of time of exhausting her receptive capabilities, basic functions such as reading, even in English or Spanish, can become quite difficult for Alex as well. This is only in extreme cases, though.
