Alright so I am traveling today but I should get this thread going either tonight or tomorrow.
The turbolift made short work of the distance between the dock and Red Sector. It barely gave him enough time the check his blaster and saber. Granted it was only a training saber so it would be hard kill anyone, but it could still deflect a blaster bolt and your average thug wouldn't know the difference. Though Ozrick doubted these were you're average thugs. So when the lift doors opened on Red Sector he kept his blaster firmly in hand and his saber at his hip. He couldn't help but feel both were in adequate when he sized up the small arsenal Cassandra was carrying. Most of the lifts opened to the same platform so he soon saw young Zevan standing there with his saber. Ozrick calmly lifted his comm-link out of his pocket and lowered his blaster before speaking, "I'm Ozrick, this is Cassandra, are you the one who answered my broadcast?"
It's alright if your sheet is mostly inspired by 3.5.
Really the last few comments have reminded me how much of mess alignments are and how it's usually best to ignore them unless your dealing with angels or demons and such extreme cases. It's not terribly necessary in D&D beyond things like: The undead, fiends, outsiders, evil clerics, and certain spells. On the more mortal level it just get's really muddy fast and the last few editions haven't really helped. When it get's to that point it always sort of felt like it was kludged from a different system.
Alright the [thread is now up](http://www.roleplayerguild.com/topics/75243/posts/ooc#post-2321639) Click the link to get to it, feel free to post your sheet in the OOC thread if you still want to apply. As for those who have already posted characters: **ajax6893**, looks good, happy to have you. **Coloured Cyan**, the character looks interesting but the idea of a manawork golem doesn't really fit into D&D which uses Vancian magic and mana isn't really a thing. If you still want to play a construct might I suggest changing the character around to be a [warforged](http://forgottenrealms.wikia.com/wiki/Warforged). They're native more to Eberron but in Forgotten realms they are rare but still exist, and tend to vary more in shape that in Eberron. **Voltus_Ventus**, Looks good, I'm happy to have you one board, minor quibble is that they are called half elves. **Corsair**, Welcome aboard, you may want to consider expanding your inventory a bit though. **Assayla**, looks good, might I suggest considering their alignment as more neutral given that I didn't read anything in their history that stated evil, simply just practical and slightly ruthless, but nothing truly evil.
### Forgotten Realms: The Viscount's Crusade #### Summary: The High Moors. Inhospitable, would be the word those in Waterdeep or Daggerford would use to describe it. A rocky expanse of ruins ruled by goblins, orcs, and monsters. Where even the most guarded of caravan move slowly and warily to avoid falling for barbarian ambushes. However, those in Waterdeep and Daggerford have never heard of the town of Falconrest. A humble herding community, deep in the moors between the pristine water of Highstar Lake and the Serpent Hills. Falconrest seems an impossible village, without much more than a constable, it has maintained a peaceful existence despite the the monstrous hordes that should have wiped it off the map decades ago. Falconrest enjoys a isolated existance, as no caravans dare go so deep in the High Moor. Which until now meant no one questioned it’s exclusion from the violence that plagued the High Moor. Until a string of inquirys led Korick, a Harper Agent, there while investigating a Devil worshiping cult. Korick began to suspect that the villages idyllic existence was a result of more than just secrecy and luck. Suspecting the cult was using the villagers to shield their activities; he sent word out to fellow Harper agents and friend outside of the faction asking for them to send adventurer’s his way. #### Rules: 1. Sensible spelling and sentence structure is not optional, your posts must be legible. 2. All post must be written in past tense. 3. Thoughts should be italicized. 4. Spoken words should be in quotations. 5. Posts should be written in third person. 6. No auto-ing or character controlling. 7. The DM’s word is final. #### D&D Rules: As this isn't a tabletop style game adherence to the rules isn't necessary. At best the rules are an inspiration and guideline for our characters and their actions. For instance it's alright to assume a fighter, barbarian, or paladin, can be proficient in most common arms. A rouge should have a number of skills that are useful outside of combat and within, along with skill at backstabbing and using magical devices. Magic is still a Vancian system, so spells are memorized, used, and then forgotten. Wizards need to study to learn their spells while other classes simply learn them as they develop. As for editions we won't stick to a single edition, so feel free to take inspiration from any of them within reason. I will mention things like character level occasionally to help give you an idea of your character's power. #### Character Sheet: Name: Age: (As is appropriate for your race and class.) Race: (Feel free to chose from any of the races that are common to Faerun) Class: (Feel free to choose any D&D class you want within reason) Abilities: (List here what your character is excels at. Be that swordplay, lock picking, stealth, acts of strength, bluffing, magic, etc. You don’t need to list every class feature and proficiency your character might have if this was a D&D game, just the areas were they shine. This should be appropriate for a character of ) Alignment: (For this RP I’d prefer Good, Lawful Good, Chaotic Good, Lawful Neutral, or True Neutral. Other alignments aren’t off limits but it will make me think twice about accepting your sheet.) Appearance: (Picture and/or description here, at there very least I want height, weight, eye color, and hair color.) Personality: (Expand your character beyond a race/class alignment combo. List temperament, quirks, and other important details.) Inventory: ( List the possessions your character has on them. It is alright to refer simplify most of the mundane gear like rope, bedroll, poles, food, and such simply as ‘Adventuring Kit’) History: (Optional, but it is nice to have an idea of where your character is from) Notes: (Optional, anything not covered above that you would like to mention in the character sheet.)
>There is a village, deep in the wild High Moors were nothing civilized should be known as Falconrest. I discovered it while ranging and upon investigating it closely I found the town was impossibly peaceful. Despite the fact that they should be fending off globlinoids, beasts, and barbarians almost every month, they have only one constable who does not seem to have any martial training that I could tell. Yet I have never seen so much as a wolf come within three mile of the town. That was until last night. While hunting I finally saw it, a barbarian raiding party heading straight for town it’s from sheer size it the town would have fallen in meer moments. However what I saw next explains the passiveness of the townsfolk and filled me with horrible dread. Fiends, appeared from the air and slaughtered the barbarian’s. As quickly as they appeared they simply vanished. >I do not believe this was an illusion, there was no trickery, fiends are appearing in Falconrest. They seem to be protecting the town, however I am not certain as to why yet. I need help to investigate this. Please find and send aid, I will wait for them on the at Gerrick’s dock on the south shore of High Star Lake for the last ten-day of Summertide. Do not let them delay, dark things are afoot. >-Korick the Rover The halfling Korick sat on the ruined beams that was known as Gerrick’s dock smoking from a stubby pipe. The rotted ruin of an old fisher’s pier that was now simply another landmark for the ferry-men who traveled the crystal clear waters of High Star Lake. Behind him Beth, a 900 pound bear, waited patiently for him on dry land. He kept his eyes trained on the water for boats, and glanced at the shore to either side of him often. Breaking up the monotony of his vigil with the occasional puff. The smoke helped keep him awake while keeping him calm as he waited for people to arrive.
Yes there is still some room.
Great, glad to see there is interest, I am going to start working on the opening post, but in the mean time here is the character sheet for if you want to start working on a character. Name: Age: (As is appropriate for your race and class.) Race: (Feel free to chose from any of the races that are common to Faerun) Class: (Feel free to choose any D&D class you want within reason) Abilities: (List here what your character is excels at. Be that swordplay, lock picking, stealth, acts of strength, bluffing, magic, etc. You don’t need to list every class feature and proficiency your character might have if this was a D&D game, just the areas were they shine. These should be appropriate for a low level adventurer around level 3.) Alignment: (For this RP I’d prefer Good, Lawful Good, Chaotic Good, Lawful Neutral, or True Neutral. It is alright to refer simplify most of the mundane gear like rope, bedroll, poles, food, and such simply as ‘Adventuring Kit’. Like Abilities it should be appropriate for a low level character.) History: (Optional, but it is nice to have an idea of where your character is from) Notes: (Optional, anything not covered above that you would like to mention in the character sheet.)> quote here
*Great, now I'm hoping there's a bomb on this station.* Ozrick mused as he considered how quickly his ideal situation had flipped around. He got in the turbolift with Cassandra before shutting the door to prevent anyone else getting on and hitting routing the lift to Red Sector. In only a few short moments they would be at Red Sector. "For what it's worth, thanks for coming, I know it's not easy to trust someone you just met." Ozrick said as the watched the display tell him that they were almost there.
