@Archmage MC the idea of a robot works for me but I’d rather it be a standard robot rather than a nanobot swarm if I’m being totally honest.

@IAmKnight nah still in interest check buddy Saiyan’s are available but just so you know almost all races will be able to attain the same sort of power up transformations as Saiyans. Obviously not super Saiyan but something that will allow them to be able to fairly compete if needed.

@Olive Fontaine I’ll be honest, the more I think about it the more I’m not really a fan of the idea. While there are examples of magic, they are so few and far between, plus how do you scale it versus Ki energy?

If you can convince me with a good enough idea then I’ll allow it but it’ll need to be something special.

@Olive Fontaine I guess my only concern with a magic user is that most of the time they don’t have any sort of martial prowess. That said, if you want to say they utilise magic instead of Ki then that’s fine I guess. Just replace the Ki stat with Magic.

But before you do start cracking on with a full CS, what sort of abilities/techniques would you be looking at with the character?

Personality:

Very few people are as deceptively stoic as Sam. On the outside he is a figure of total calmness but on the inside lies a white hot rage that fuels the very power that make him a dangerous fighter. He has a solid grasp on his anger but when pushed to his limit it can seep out. With his often calm demeanour comes a sense of humour that people would expect him lacking just by looking at him. A face of seriousness often gives way to a smile or grin before returning to its mostly stern appearance. He is a man of the people and defender of the weak.

Biography:

Sam was born to parents who were beyond ecstatic to have him. For years they had tried to have children until suddenly, after almost giving up all hope, Samanosuke Tanaka came into being. For the early years of his life he was much like any other baby, regular tears and soiled diapers but as he began to grow a deep anger within became evident. Severe tantrums and outbursts made life difficult for Sam's parents, so much so that by his fourth birthday they sought the help of the village elder. Part medicine man and part village leader, the elder was shocked by the child's inner aggression. However, he knew of a man who could tame the anger but it would mean giving up their son until the goal was achieved. Sam's parents reluctantly accepted, leaving him with the man known only as Kojiro.

In the years that followed Sam was taught a two thousand year old martial art known as Fists of the Swift Wind. The basis of the martial art was to utilise a persons anger to increase their damage output. The anger within Sam shocked Kojiro but not through a sense of fear, but through surprise that the youngsters potential was unbound. Throughout the history of the fighting style nobody had become so advanced at such a young age and so Kojiro grew excited.

It was four years after the start of his training that Sam was allowed to reunite with his parents and through it came an emotional outpouring from his mother and father. They couldn't believe the change in their child, particular the fact that he was more like a young adult than an eight year old. Even so they felt a level of guilt that he had missed much of his childhood having spent it training. Their opinion changed when they saw him showcase his capabilities in a local fighting tournament however, defeating adults three times his size through nothing but technique. They saw his natural gift and so, reluctantly, let him return to Kojiro. They hoped that his talent might one day do the world some good, even if it meant that they missed his early life.

It wasn't until his eighteenth birthday that Sams training was finally complete. Other fighters his age had levels of power that had surpassed him, focussing on increasing their strength. Kojiro focussed on teaching Sam the true techniques and secrets of the Swift Wind, increasing his power would come later. His body had been trained to almost be able to fight on autopilot, the accuracy and power of his strikes far surpassing what he should be capable of.

To the present day he keep in contact with Kojiro and spend much of his time taking care of his parents. When he isn't with either he is often training or helping those in need in his home village.

Abilities:
Power Through Fury - Fists of the Swift Wind is the martial art that Sam has been taught for the majority of his life. It allows him to tap into his inner anger to increase his strength beyond what a human should be capable of. It works much in the same way as the Saiyan zenkai boost, however rather than increasing power after near fatal experiences it increases power after great bouts of rage.
Ultimate Concentration - Can concentrate their ki blasts into smaller blasts of equal effectiveness. Giving the impression they are weaker when in reality they are not.

Techniques
• Waterfall Fists [OFFENSIVE] - Taking a face on stance on their opponent, the user is able to unload one hundred punches in the space of a second.
• Raging Torrent [OFFENSIVE] - Much like the Waterfall Fists technique, Raging Torrent involves taking a face on stance towards an opponent. However rather than punches being thrown, the users unleashes ki blasts. Twenty blasts in total are fired in the space of a second.
• Sudden Storm [OFFENSIVE] - The user channels their rage into their fists until they glow with energy, with each hit from them feeling like a babies punch. Within three seconds of the glow fading the opponent experiences the true full force of each punch simultaneously. The more punches that land, the more damage that is inflicted.
• Mirrorform [DEFENSIVE] - By focussing solely on the opponent Sam can avoid all incoming attacks. However he cannot attack himself while using the technique and it takes an extreme toll on his body so should only ever be used to delay far superior opponents.

Ultimate Techniques

• Apocalyptic Fist [OFFENSIVE] - Sam stands his ground, planting his feet firmly shoulder width apart. The air around him visibly begins to distort as if reality around him is breaking apart. The sound generated during this time reaches a deafening level before the cracks around Sam engulf him at which point he disappears, leaving total silence. During this time he is transported to a realm created from nothing but the rage of all living creatures. There time acts differently, minutes being mere seconds in the normal world. While there Sam focusses what ki he can spare into his fist. After he has finished he charges forward as fast as he can, breaking back through to the normal world directly at his enemy. When he approaches his opponent the ki around his fist erupts around him leaving a trail much like a large beam attack. The front of the ki wave takes the form of a screaming skull. Upon impact the punch is capable of punching through whatever it hits, leaving a gaping hole in larger opponents or totally wiping out smaller ones.

It has been generations since the adventures of Goku and the Z fighters, their names simply referred to as heroes. Since their time others have stepped up in their place to protect Earth and the rest of the universe. For the last fifty years the world has felt total bliss but darkness stirs...longing for freedom...

Welcome! Let me start out by saying that while the RP is called Dragon Ball, it is far closer in taste and general flavour to Z and Super. The universe is wide open and Earth is now inhabited by a mixture of races beyond that of just human. As the brief paragraph above says, things have been peaceful and all of the character you loved or loved to hate have long since died of old age. Peace has taken over the world but that hasn't stopped people from training and preparing for any potential threats.

General Stuff

This RP is going to be entirely PvE in the sense that it'll avoid having PvP as a compulsory part of the story. The idea will be that there will be enough enemies for everyone to get involved rather than having everyone trying to swarm on one big bad guy. There will be times that there will be a "big bad guy" to fight but things will be done to ensure everyone plays a key role in the story. That said, there is no reason two people can't have a sparring session if they so wish. Just be polite, patient and respectful of each others characters.

Ultimately this is a world I want to build with people so feel free to add your input. It's not just about me telling you all what will happen, you need to make your own decisions and help craft the story. I want everyone to get a chance to be the "hero" and so this is just the first saga of what I hope will be many.

Rules

Standard forum rules apply and just as a general practise, dont be a dick. In terms of disputes as GM I have last say on those matters and if people go to far, I have no issue in getting mods involved. However, don't feel like you can't speak your mind if you think something isn't working well or if you have ideas.

In terms of fighting, as it is primarily against NPC's you'll pretty much have free reign to do as you wish in combat, particularly against minions. However with "bosses" I expect close fights and in some instances I will tell you that you may lose. In terms of boss, when it comes to smaller or multiple bosses (like the Ginyu Force, 17/18 etc) i'd rather leave it to you guys to RP those battles once introduced. However when it comes to single big bads (like Frieza, Cell etc) i'll RP their entire interactions with people.

This RP will not use power levels.

So much had happened in such a short amount of time, one minute Leo was on stage and the next the world had descended into complete and utter madness. His friends and his brother had all either been eaten alive by the monsters or had disappeared during the chaos. He tried to tell himself that moving alone was safer and that at least now, the others could rest. Leo could ill afford too much rest, only two days prior he had fallen asleep after barricading himself upstairs in a house to awake to a large group of the monsters outside. He didn't think they had actively found him, he didn't think they had that level of intelligence. Just them being there however meant he had to sit tight for a day before they eventually moved on.

Now he was on the road once more, utilising the large range and quiet nature of a Prius. Previously he'd never had even considered driving one but given the circumstances, there were few vehicles as suitable. He slowed down as his next destination pulled into view, a fair sized town but what caught his attention was the vast shopping mall on its outskirts. Just far enough that he could possibly get lucky enough to avoid any of the monsters. The chances were it had already been cleared of all it's supplies but he had to risk it. Putting the car back into gear he continued on towards the shopping mall.

The drive was uneventful and from what he could tell nobody, alive or dead, had followed him. He bypassed the front entrance and made his way around to the loading dock at the back of the large complex.
