Dragon Ball: The Titans Saga

<sub>For the longest time in centuries the Earth has been consistently safe. The most dangerous it gets is during the annual World Martial Arts Tournament where those who want to showcase their power go up against each other. Some of the strongest fighters the planet has to offer take part and fight each other until only one remains. The winner is celebrated wildly while the losers are soon forgotten about, until the following year at least. The tournaments coverage is truly worldwide and the final is watched by over seventy percent of the worlds total population. No other event or TV spectacle comes close. Tickets for the event are free but are drawn through a lottery that must be registered for. Those who want to take part in the tournament must win their regional tournaments before they can progress.

When the tournament begins, sixty four people have the opportunity to be crowned World Champion. Round by round the numbers are reduced until only one person is left standing. This years tournament is already down to the last four with the semi finals close to starting and this is where your characters begin. They may be participating or they may just be watching from the stands but either way, they are there. However they are not the only ones with eyes on the tournament, a dark power lies in wait...waiting for the right time to appear...</sub>

Right then folks the OOC is up here. For the most part it is the same as the above, however I have made a few adjustments so it'd be worth reading over.

Also I have added trademark techniques in addition to basic and ultimate techniques.

Feel free to comment and critique because hopefully we'll all be working together for a long time to come.

Personality:

Leo is the kind of person who asks no questions when a friend needs help, running to their aid as soon as he possibly can. This applies in day to day life and on the battlefield. He will readily sacrifice himself to save someone close to him. He builds strong attachments to those he is close with viewing them as family beyond simply being friends.

He has a switch in his brain that allows him to instantly go from happy and go lucky to a violent and dangerous fighter in an instant. Years of training and focussing his anger have allowed him to keep it in line and so he is able to enjoy life to its full without the risk of exploding into a rage fuelled fit.

Biography:

Leo was born to parents who were beyond ecstatic to have him. For years they had tried to have children until suddenly, after almost giving up all hope, Leolin came into being. For the early years of his life he was much like any other baby, regular tears and soiled diapers but as he began to grow a deep anger within became evident. Severe tantrums and outbursts made life difficult for Leo's parents, so much so that by his fourth birthday they sought the help of the village elder. Part medicine man and part village leader, the elder was shocked by the child's inner aggression. However, he knew of a man who could tame the anger but it would mean giving up their son until the goal was achieved. Leo's parents reluctantly accepted, leaving him with the man known only as Kojiro.

In the years that followed Leo was taught a two thousand year old martial art known as Fists of the Swift Wind. The basis of the martial art was to utilise a persons anger to increase their damage output. The anger within Leo shocked Kojiro but not through a sense of fear, but through surprise that the youngsters potential was unbound. Throughout the history of the fighting style nobody had become so advanced at such a young age and so Kojiro grew excited.

It was four years after the start of his training that Leo was allowed to reunite with his parents and through it came an emotional outpouring from his mother and father. They couldn't believe the change in their child, particular the fact that he was more like a young adult than an eight year old. Even so they felt a level of guilt that he had missed much of his childhood having spent it training. Their opinion changed when they saw him showcase his capabilities in a local fighting tournament however, defeating adults three times his size through nothing but technique. They saw his natural gift and so, reluctantly, let him return to Kojiro. They hoped that his talent might one day do the world some good, even if it meant that they missed his early life.

It wasn't until his eighteenth birthday that Leo's training was finally complete. Other fighters his age had levels of power that had surpassed him, focussing on increasing their strength. Kojiro focussed on teaching Leo the true techniques and secrets of the Swift Wind, increasing his power would come later. His body had been trained to almost be able to fight on autopilot, the accuracy and power of his strikes far surpassing what he should be capable of.

At the age of nineteen, while meditating in a field on a summers day, Leo felt the air around him grow colder and the soft breeze made way for an unnerving stillness. When he opened his eyes he found himself in a realm that he had never seen before. Then almost in an instant he soon found himself returned to where he originally was. Over the years that followed he continued to delve into this other realm and found a way to utilise it to improve his fighting style. However, he is only able to maintain his presence in the realm for a maximum of five minutes at present.

To the present day he keep in contact with Kojiro and spends much of his time taking care of his parents. When he isn't with either he is often training or helping those in need in his home village.

Abilities:
Realm Jumper - Leo accidentally stumbled across an ability to 'jump' into a realm that he still knows little about. During the jump his body is transported for a microsecond to this other realm before returning. He can reappear at any point within twenty metres of where he disappeared. If he focusses his power he is capable of staying in the realm for longer and will be able to reappear further from where he disappeared. Excessive jumping in short spaces of time take a toll on Leo's body and so the ability should be used sparingly. Also any momentum he has carries from realm to realm which means that if he is flying in the hidden realm, he will keep that speed when he reappears.
Complete Focus - Leo has a complete focus that few can rival. This allows him to keep up with whoever he is fighting or watching, at least in a mental capacity. Just because his mind can process and react to extremely fast stimulus, doesn't necessarily mean his body can.

Techniques
• Wall of Fists [OFFENSIVE] - Taking a face on stance on his opponent, Leo is able to unload one hundred punches in the space of a second. While not full strength, the barrage is capable of inflicting heavy damage while also disorientating the opponent.
• Sonic Boom [OFFENSIVE] - Bringing his hands together at great speed, Leo creates a directional shockwave that can shatter stone.
• Cross Slash [OFFENSIVE] - Leo charges sharped edges of ki along the base of his hands. He brings them down across his chest in the shape of an X. A wave of cutting air erupts forward cutting into anything it makes contact with. From close range it is capable of dismemberment.
• Blinding Flash [DEFENSIVE] - While he is far from being a strong ki user, he knows how to utilise his power to be most effective. Focussing his ki into a single point he can generate a blinding flash that will affect anyone looking directly at him, friend or foe. The effects are temporary.

Trademark Techniques

• Sudden Storm [OFFENSIVE] - Leo channels his strength into his fists until they glow with energy, with each hit from them feeling like a babies punch. Within three seconds of the glow fading the opponent experiences the true full force of each punch simultaneously. The longer his fists remain charged the more damage inflicted.

Ultimate Techniques

• Apocalyptic Fist [OFFENSIVE] - Leo stands his ground, planting his feet firmly shoulder width apart. The air around him visibly begins to distort as if reality around him is breaking apart. The sound generated during this time reaches a deafening level before the cracks around Leo engulf him at which point he disappears, leaving total silence. During this time he is transported to the other realm, he still doesn't completely understand. There time acts differently, minutes being mere seconds in the normal world. While there Leo focusses all of his power, strength and energy into his fist. He then launches himself forward as fast as he can. After a brief time he breaks back through to normality right in front of his opponent. Only the fastest enemies have any hope of avoiding the attack. Upon impact the punch is capable of punching through whatever it hits, leaving a gaping hole in larger opponents or totally wiping out smaller ones.

It has been generations since the adventures of Goku and the Z fighters, their names simply referred to as heroes. Since their time others have stepped up in their place to protect Earth and the rest of the universe. For the last fifty years the world has felt total bliss but darkness stirs...longing for freedom...

Welcome! Let me start out by saying that while the RP is called Dragon Ball, it is far closer in taste and general flavour to Z and Super. The universe is wide open and Earth is now inhabited by a mixture of races beyond that of just human. As the brief paragraph above says, things have been peaceful and all of the character you loved or loved to hate have long since died of old age. Peace has taken over the world but that hasn't stopped people from training and preparing for any potential threats.

This RP will begin as the world is still experiencing it's total bliss. Characters will be at the World Martial Arts Tournament either as participants or as spectators (if you want to be part of the tournament then let me know). Something will happen which will set off a chain of events that will present Earth with the biggest threat it has faced for several centuries.

General Stuff

This RP is going to be entirely PvE in the sense that it'll avoid having PvP as a compulsory part of the story. The idea will be that there will be enough enemies for everyone to get involved rather than having everyone trying to swarm on one big bad guy. There will be times that there will be a "big bad guy" to fight but things will be done to ensure everyone plays a key role in the story. That said, there is no reason two people can't have a sparring session if they so wish. Just be polite, patient and respectful of each others characters.

Ultimately this is a world I want to build with people so feel free to add your input. It's not just about me telling you all what will happen, you need to make your own decisions and help craft the story. I want everyone to get a chance to be the "hero" and so this is just the first saga of what I hope will be many.

While the Z fighters have long since passed, the "deity" type characters still exist as they did in the series. So the Kai's, Beerus, Whis etc. The majority won't feature in any real capacity but I just think it's easier if there is some consistency on that front.

Standard Rules

Standard forum rules apply and just as a general practise, dont be a dick. In terms of disputes, as GM I have last say on those matters and if people go too far, I have no issue in getting mods involved. However, don't feel like you can't speak your mind if you think something isn't working well or if you have ideas.

In terms of fighting, as it is primarily against NPC's you'll pretty much have free reign to do as you wish in combat, particularly against minions. However with "bosses" I expect close fights and in some instances I will tell you that you may lose. In terms of bosses, when it comes to smaller or multiple bosses (like the Ginyu Force, 17/18 etc) i'd rather leave it to you guys to RP those battles once introduced. However when it comes to single big bads (like Frieza, Cell etc) i'll RP their entire interactions with people.

This RP will not use power levels in any respect.

As there is violence I have set the age limit to 18 so feel free to have broken bones, nasty cuts etc. In addition if you want to have inter-character romance then feel free, just ensure it's fade to black.

Character Progression

There will be character progression in this RP but will more often than not occur at the end of a saga. There will be opportunities to learn new techniques mid saga, such as visiting King Kai to learn Kaioken. However you need to request these and there is no guarentee i'll allow it but they will be at the expense

So the basic idea is that the story will be broken into saga's much like the series has been since its inception. I will create a new thread for each saga and anyone who participates in a saga can carry a character over. If the character is carried over then they will gain a boost. For each completed saga they participated in they gain the following:

1 - 5 stat points | 1 basic technique and 1 transformation
2 - 5 stat points | 2 basic techniques or 1 trademark technique
3 - 5 stat points | 1 basic technique or 1 ultimate technique or 1 transformation
4 - 5 stat points | 2 basic techniques or 1 trademark technique
5 - 5 stat points | 2 basic techniques or 1 trademark technique or 1 ultimate technique or 1 transformation

I appreciate that this will likely put characters onto a different level to anyone who joins a future saga with a fresh character, however the thing to remember is that this is PvE. People who stick around, even with lower stats, will be provided bonuses to allow them to close the gap as a thank you for persevering.

Five sagas is by no means a limit and I will continue to do this as long as the interest is there.

The second the pair had entered the house it was clear for all to see that Ron was less than impressed with their choice of costume. For all the fun they had turning the other person into a copy of themselves, Ron had sucked all the fun out in one fell swoop. Rob simply smiled and patted him on the shoulder, simply saying "Hey man," as he made his way towards the staircase. After a few steps he felt Ara stop behind him. He turned his head slightly and caught Ron chastise her on her costume.

"What the hell is this?"

Rob wanted to stop and call him out but Ara wasted no time in responding, defending herself as she normally did when Ron got pissy. Rob could have intervened to help out his closest friend but she seemed to be doing a good enough job on her own. At that moment Alice walked through the open door and momentarily distracted the arguing couple. Rob gave her a smile as she approached. "Hey there Alice, loving the costume." Given her name the costume choice was obvious, but she pulled it off well.

Continuing towards the stairs Robert stopped at the top as he heard Ara call Ron an "asshole." He tried his best to stifle a laugh because Ara was always funnier rather than intimidating when angry. Even so she was clearly upset by the greeting she'd received from Ron, so Rob being her Skullcandy decided to pipe up. "Jesus Christ you two, get downstairs and chill the fuck out. The show is about to begin and if you miss it then you will not be getting a lap dance off me later." Rob teasingly raised the back of the skirt to reveal the always sexy Sponge Bob boxer briefs he was sporting. Then with a cheeky wink he lowered the skirt and began to descend down the stairs.

Most of the group were in the basement already and he could immediately see the reactions to his costume. Rather than give them a chance to make fun he leapt straight in with his best impression of Ara. "Heya all! I'm Arabella Jennings and i'll literally like be your karaoke host tonight...cause like...I am that amazing." With the facade soon dropped he was approached by Augie who was as excited about his costume as Rob was.

"Oh my god Rob... You fucking madman! Now..... it all makes sense! This is why you're singing Dancing Queen! Because you're a dancing queen! You know what you really are though, you're a bloody genius." Rob laughed and nodded in recognition. "Your costume is pretty sick. Didn't think you'd crack out the ol' gas mask."

Sharing a smile Augie became distracted by Alice as she made her way down the stairs. Rob gave him a soft tap to the shoulder and a wink before heading over to the table that had a fairly vast selection of alcohol on it. He wasn't a pretender who would try and drink all of the spirits to prove some sort of point, he would stick to what he liked and what he liked was beer and lager. He had a heavy tolerance for it but that wasn't to say he wouldn't get into some states. After a recent party he woke up in a bush with a family of raccoons, suffice to say his journey home was more of a crawl than a walk. He picked up a can from the table and popped it open. He had a preference to drink straight from cans or bottles rather than pouring them into cups. There was no real reason behind it, it was just how he preferred his drinks.

With drink in hand he made his way to the tv in the corner and began to set up the karaoke station. He had already picked out songs for everyone else, sending them to the group chat. Some people were excited, others not so much but that was to be expected. The group had quite a few introverts but several alocholic drinks and peer pressure would ensure everyone would get on the microphone at some point. It wasn't long before the machine was set up but Rob had made an alteration to his choice of song. There is no way i'm singing the normal version...

Rob tinkered with the speakers turning the volume up to a level which would undoubtedly lead to noise complaints but it was Ron's house so it didn't matter. With everything now ready, the single greatest performance of Dancing Queen was approaching. Microphone in hand he spoke, "Well I would like to literally thank you all for like coming tonight. Ron has like literally made a massive effort. So anyway I will like literally start us off with my like literally amazing rendition of Dancing Queen."

With a press of a button the music began and Rob burst into song. Throughout the performance he made his way around the room dancing in the sexiest way he could. There was alot skirt lifting, lap dancing and twerking in between each gutteral roar. However, unfortunately for the devastated public the song had to come to an end.

"So like, who's next?!"
