The soldier's radios suddenly erupted with the sound of a frantic woman's voice, and Cassie could barely make out the words. She caught a few a midst the screams, like bandages and vault and Dr. Taylor's name. But suddenly they were being rushed in a whole other direction by the UNIT soldiers. It didn't help the growing feelings of unease and panic that were threatening to overwhelm her. What was happening? Where was Adrian? Wasn't the vault the place he had been heading to? She tired assuring herself that he was fine. He had that healing thing, after all, and they had come so far. He was fine.

She stumbled a bit in the rush, and she felt a strong hand reach out and keep her from falling over to get trampled. It wasn't until they had all been loaded into the elevator that she looked back at see jack looking at her. He was smiling in a comforting away, and he nodded at her. "Everything's okay, Cassie." He tone was confident, but she saw the nervous way his eyes seemed to flicker over to the solder's radios.

It took an agonizingly long time for the elevator to finally reach the vault and they were all shuffled out. Initially Cassie took a look around the room, taking in the technology from other planets and what was left of that spaceship that had destroyed parliament. Then she saw an attractive woman, a UNIt doctor, kneeling over something on the ground.

Not something. Someone. Lying in a pool of blood. In very familiar clothes. And Cassie couldn't stop herself from yelling. "Adrian!"

"Cassie, no, wait!" Jack tried to catch her by the elbow but he was too late. Cassie slipped out of his reach and ran forward, ignoring to shouts of the soldiers as she reached the bloody mess that was Adrian. She all but collapsed onto the floor next to him and she was very aware of the tears staining her cheeks. She didn't care that her jeans wear becoming soaked by the sickening amount of blood on the floor, only that she was careful with him. Cassie tore the coat that he had given her from her body and covered him with it, trying to stop the bleeding from the bullet holes that riddled him.

"Adrian?" she whispered to him, taking his hand in her own and squeezing it, as though it would give him life. "Adrian, please. It's me. It's Cassie!" Her voice was shaking, though she was trying to sound calm. She looked over at the woman and then at the people behind them. "Get bandages! Get a doctor! Help him, please!" The she looked back at Adrian and focused her attention on him. She used her free hand to push hair back from his forehead and to gently touch his cheek. "Adrian, you need to open your eyes," she said, practically begging at this point. "Please...please don't go. Don't die. Please don't leave me..." Her tears dripped from her face and into his clothes, already wet with blood. Blood...there was so much of it. She could feel it sticking to her, but she refused to let go of him. Not until he looked at her. Saw her. Smiled at her.

Until she felt Jack's strong hands take hold of her. He had already moved forward and pulled Martha back. He had whispered. "Martha Jones-Smith," into her ear and had smiled before directing her attention to Adrian's hands and pulling her away. She knew what it would mean. Cassie, however, was the newest in this world, the newest member of this unofficial society of the Doctor's friends. "Cassie, you need to get back."

"No!" Cassie shook her head, her tone stubborn and verging on hysterical. "No I'm not leaving him!"

"Cassie, you can't do anything for him..."

"No!" Jack managed to pulll her to her feet and back, away from her friend. Her friend who was dying. "No, let me go! I have to be with him! He needs..."

"Cassie," Jack said quietly to her, trying to soothe the trashing young woman. "I know it doesn't seem like it, but it's going to be okay. He's going to be okay."
I got you a post~
Now I'm going to jump into finals preparation and stress ha. So my activity might be scarce.
Sam smiled a bit when Dorothea popped up on the back of a chair. She shook her head when the cat apologized, and her smile widen slightly. "No, you don't have to apologize. Last night was...a little crazy. And all I needed was some sleep. I'm fine now, though. Honestly." She was technically fine, but Sam was rather unhappy and uncertain about the fact that she wasn't entirely sure what had happened to her. But she knew the one man who had answers for her. Later, though. Now she was listening to Dorothea explain everything that had happened last night that she had missed.

She closed her eyes and shook her head when she was told that Liam was now blind due to Raquelle's poisoning of him. "What a bitch," she said casually as she opened her eyes again. She managed to keep her face from showing much emotion when Dorothea told her about August's confession and confinement, and she simply nodded. "I see." The mask shattered, however, when Dorothea complimented her in the dress and Sam felt herself blushing. "Oh...yeah..." She bit her lip as she looked down at the pale blue skirt of the dress and smiled, grateful and a little embarrassed. "Thanks."

Dorothea was on her shoulder again, and her weight felt familiar and comforting as Sam started to make her way out of the house. The men who passed them glanced at the cat and nodded and bowed in respect, and Sam's eyebrow arched as she looked over at her. "So...I'm guessing they all know who you are now." Dorothea confirmed this and spoke with confidence about how victory was assured. The thought of going home soon was...incredible. She could only hope that it would be as easy as Dorothea thought it would be. But she didn't think Narissa would go down without a struggle.

There was a loud voice she didn't recognize coming from outside, but before she could say anything Dorothea answered her unspoken question. The prince of Verinia. Another young royal. Sam nodded her head when Dorothea advised her to not let him boss her around and to come to her if he gave her a hard time. "Oh, don't worry. I will. But...I'm sure we'll get along fine." She grinned for a moment, then it faltered. "Do they know?" she asked quietly as she opened the door and went outside, "That I'm from the other side of the mirror?"

Liam was standing aside, holding onto a post for balance and feeling rather useless and annoyed that he was so useless. Will had assured him that no one thought any less of him, but it hadn't done much good. He felt so powerless without his sight, and he wasn't sure how he was supposed to lead anyone while so severely handicapped. He missed Dorothea and wanted to find her, but didn't dare move from his spot. The last thing he needed was to wander around blindly. She would return soon enough, he was positive. Noe that they had found each other again.

Will had been focused on preparing the horses when he felt a hand on his chest, and he looked up to see Bryn there. The prince was gazing at something behind him and for a moment Will was clueless until Bryn spoke again. The peasant girl...that could only be one person. Will turned to see Samantha Shea standing outside of Jolly's house, looking clean and wearing a peasant dress, a stark contrast to the strange trousers she had been wearing the day before. He looked back at Bryn. "Her name is Samantha Shea. She was with the princess and the Marshal when they joined out company, but I really don't know much about her. I believe she was already asleep last night when you arrived, though." He looked back at Samantha, noticing Dorothea perched on her shoulder comfortably and his eyebrows rose. He had been wary of the girl since learning of the Marshal's role in Narissa's work, but seeing Dorothea with the girl settled his unease. He went back to his work. "I'm sure you'll have plenty of time to question her n the road, Your Highness," Will said in a conversational tone.

"Please, just Orin is fine. The fairies aren't nearly as formal about titles." Everything about the fairy prince seemed to radiate a casual attitude, almost lazy and carefree. But his pale eyes were alert. "I'm here because your mother invited me," Orin continued as she slouched in another chair beside Raquelle and watched the queen thoughtfully. "She told me she had a...business proposition for me. That we could make a deal of some sort, though she hasn't explained it to me yet. I do believe it has something to do with your Marshal, does it not?"

Narissa's smirk mirrored Orin's and she nodded. "I noticed something strange about Derrick the last time we spoke." Orin's expression didn't change from his smirk, though his eyes were nearly sparkling. "I noticed his right eye. The color had changed. It was a strange shade a purple. Very pale and cold. There's only one person that I know has eyes that particular shade." The fairy prince said nothing, and just continued to smile. "I believe you and Mr. Derrick have crossed paths at some point very recently."

"Indeed. The Marshal and I are...acquainted. Last night we met and came to an arrangement. He gave me his right eye, and I can see everything he sees." Orin chuckled a bit and leaned back in his chair. "And if I were someone who the Marshal had betrayed, I would seek out the best allies I could find. And surely the best ally would be someone who could tell you everything the Marshal and his company were doing. Someone who could spy on them without even being with them."

The queen looked at her daughter. "If Dorothea and the Marshal believe taking Eldonia back will be a simple task, I'm afraid they are quite mistaken. I've already sent a...welcoming party of sorts out to meet them on the road. And with Orin as our eyes, they won't able to surprise us." She turned, then paused for a moment. She titled her head back to look at Orin with pensive green eyes. "Why exactly did August Derrick give you his eye?"

Orin shrugged. "Oh, I lured a young woman into one of my circles. I was...quite taken with her and I wanted to steal her away. Bring her into the fairy realm." His eyes went vacant for a moment, and a bit of a bitter smile spread across his lips. "The Marshal gave me his eye in exchange for her freedom. I probably gave her up too easily, looking back on it now, but I must say he was quite eager to save her. Samantha Shea."
It was fun~
If I don't get you a response by the end of the day it might be a little while before I do. I've got two weeks left in school, which means final exams. And I have a giant portfolio and a 7 page paper due within the next couple of weeks, along with my tests. So...it'll be crazy for a little while. But then in exactly 2 weeks I graduate!! So yay.
Boom, post for ya. Sam went all medieval, Narissa and Orin are new evil bffs.
It took Sam a moment to remember where she was and what had happened when she woke the next morning lying in a bed in a tiny room surrounded by books. She remembered practically fainting and asking August Derrick to carry her, and it made her flush from embarrassment. The rest of the night's details came back to her memory swiftly and she pushed herself up into a sitting position. August had betrayed the queen. And undoubtedly there was a lot to explain and a lot to be done, and she had to find everyone. Then she saw some folded clothes, a pair of shoes, and a towel on the foot of her bed.

After. She'd find everyone after she bathed and changed.

She took the bundle of clothing and towel and found the washroom across the hall, with a steaming bath ready for her. Sam caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror and winced. She looked like a nightmare, and she supposed she smelled just as bad. So she peeled off her sweater and jeans and gratefully lowered herself into the tub. She felt like it had been one hundred years since she'd bathed, and it felt so good that Sam felt like crying. In fact there might have been a few tears as she scrubbed ever inch of her skin clean with the soap beside the tub, then started lathering her hair. She made the bath last as long as she possibly could, enjoying every millisecond of it before she forced herself to climb out and dry herself with the towel.

She cast a reluctant glance at the medieval garb she'd been given before looking sadly over at her all but ruined green sweater and jeans. The last remnants she had of her world. They were just clothes, but she felt like she was leaving a part of herself behind as she dressed herself in her new duds. It took her a stupidly long time to figure everything out, from the new under garments to the white chemise with long sleeves, and then there was the pale blue corset dress she wore over everything. Sam laced up the front of her dress while making an annoyed expression, though the clothes weren't as bad as they could have been. They were simple and sturdy, probably made for peasant type women. They would probably endure horse back riding and the woods well enough. Nothing like the extravagant gown Raquelle had been wearing.

Sam still felt like she was dressing up to go to a renaissance fair, though, and she fidgeted in embarrassment when she saw her reflection. She barely recognized herself, and it was a bit unsettling. She towel dried her hair before combing the tangles out of the long red strands and pulling it all back into a ponytail. Then she slipped on the boot type shoes she had been given and gave the stranger in the mirror one more look before leaving the room. She rubbed her hands nervously together as she stepped out into the main room of the house, her gray eyes glancing about looking for familiar faces.

Narissa returned to the hollow, pristine as ever, to find her daughter, looking like a wreck, slumped in a chair, and her familiar perched over her. Darius immediately soared through the air to his mistress's shoulder, and she gave the intelligent bird a smile before clearing her throat. "Raquelle," she said in a firm, though patient, tone until her daughter said up and gave her her full attention. "We have company."

The queen was smiling, clearly overjoyed as she stepped aside and Prince Orin of the Unseelie Court of Fairies strode into the hollow. His lope was graceful, almost uncaring, and his pale lilacs eyes were as bright as Narissa's green. He was wearing his simple clothing, along with a silver talisman on a longer chain around his neck. He smiled at Raquelle, though his eyes were not warm, and nodded to her. "Princess Raquelle, I presume. You look like you had quite the adventure."
Yep. I'm also thinking of having Narissa giving Orin some sort of token/talisman that allows him to move off and on the fairy roads/realm. To make his presence bigger.

I guess it depends on how long Tommen and Narissa have been married, but we can say Julianna has been imprisoned for about 5 years. So she's supposed to be about 26 by now, a few years younger than her brother.

Hm is it okay for Jolly to have left Sam some new clothes and a bath ready for when she wakes up? She needs to bathe ha.
Haha yeah. I have plans for Sam meeting Narissa and it'll be juicy but one sided. Sort of like how Narissa and Orin scenes are going to be. I'm trying to think of more fairies, Seelie court ones, to oppose this new alliance between Narissa and Orin. Orin's just gonna get creepier, I think. More twisted. He really wants Sam now that he let her go once, and I think he'll enjoy antagonizing August even more now. His sister might show up again, too. To help our brave heroes ha.

I'm thinking of having Julianna's physical age being somewhere between late teens and early twenties? Depending on how long August has worked for Narissa. The curse could have been supposed to kill her when she turned 21 or something, and she was a few weeks away from her 21st birthday when Narissa trapped her in the mirror and blackmaled August into working for her. So how old she's actually supposed to be depends on how long August had been Narissa's right hand man.

Yeah, and I think Darius knows a short cut or two through some of the more magical parts of the forest. So maybe by the morning? That way she can be all angry and tired about having to have walked through the woods all night haha.

Yeah, I could play her. I have an idea for a plan for Narissa and Orin's evil scheming that involves Sam and the sister, but I could play as her. Or we could share her, too. Her name could be....Julianna Derrick or s/t like that.

I'm thinking she should have a death curse? It kills her when she reaches a certain age and she had a few weeks or days to live when Narissa took her captive, but when she's in the mirror time sort of halts so the curse hasn't killed her yet. Maybe Narissa was even the one to cast it on her. So the sister can be much younger than she should be since she hasn't aged.

I'm thinking that Narissa will learn all about Sam and August's sacrifice for her from Orin, and try to use her, as well as his sister, against him. But we'll see how events turn~
