Well, I spent way more time reading and thinking about my character rather than actually writing, so now I'm about to pass out without getting much done haha.

Anyways, this RP looks awesome, so I'll drop off what little work I've done on my CS to let my interest be known. Should hopefully be finished and ready to be looked at within 24 hours! I probably have a few questions regarding it, but I'll save that for after I've gotten some sleep.

Shoko has a bit of a tomboyish streak to her, which mainly manifests itself through hyper-competitiveness, and a sense of curiosity that drags her around by the nose. The girl is a something of a low-key show-off, wanting others to be impressed with her and the things she can do. It's validation, for her, to have people look up to her and praise her -- a side effect of this is that she's very willing to help out with most anything, to gain the admiration of those she helps. All this tends to lead to her being on the reckless side of things, acting first and asking questions later (Was it really a good idea to cannonball off that bridge with a dozen people watching? Did that girl actually deserve such a hard punch to the nose?) in an attempt to be the first to do things and to not be shown up.

She's not particularly outgoing or loud-mouthed, and is actually more on the awkward side when dealing with people -- while she does genuinely enjoy interacting with others, she can't help but feel shy, though she pushes through it, sometimes coming off as a bit of a bumbling dork as a result (to her dismay). When she feels strongly about something, she can ignore this softer-spoken side of hers and make her point heard. The confidence and self-assuredness she gives off is something of a front, made to deal with her insecurities -- the last thing she wants is to fail, especially in front of others. While she can avoid thinking about such things normally, after the fact -- when she realizes that she's failed and made a fool of herself -- it hits her hard. She worries far more about what people think of her than is healthy, and can't stand even the thought that others may see her as weak and incapable. When push comes to shove, she'll fight until she can no longer move, if only to avoid the stinging shame of failure.

All-in-all, Shoko's a genuine and hard-working person, who tries to make friends with everyone (at first, at least -- she isn't too afraid with making an enemy out of someone who's pissed her off, but she does try to avoid it), which helps save her from coming off as obnoxious and self-absorbed when she otherwise might. She's also surprisingly level-headed, for how she acts -- she usually knows what she's doing might be a bad idea, but she goes through with it anyways.

Additional Information:
- Shoko is 5'7" (170.2 cm) tall, and weighs 127 lbs.
- She has younger twin siblings, one a boy and the other a girl.
- She's played volleyball for several years, and is currently the star of her school's team. She is also a strong enough player that she was a part of Japan's national Youth (U18) women's volleyball team last year, and has a good chance at making the Junior (U20) team this year.
- Between volleyball and her adventurous whims, she doesn't leave much time for schoolwork, only just barely squeaking by as is required of her to be allowed to continue playing on her school's team.
- She has a weakness for 'cute' things, though she does her best not to let it show.
- Another thing she makes sure to keep on the down-low is her fear of darkness. It makes her more than a little uncomfortable.
- She likes skirts because she finds them cute, but always wears compression shorts or tights under them.
- She's broken her bones surprisingly few times, considering the risks and tumbles she's taken in her life.
- Finally, she's going through something of a late-teen crisis, one that many final-year high school students experience -- the realization that she has to figure out what she wants to do with the rest of her life, made an even more difficult question thanks to her sub-par grades. Currently, she's avoiding thinking about it by just living her life as she has been, but deep down she knows she can't just play volleyball forever. The idea of growing up seems so consuming and inevitable, and it kind of scares her.

• Critical Pierce - The cutter-arm's energy extends in a blink of an eye up to a hundred feet, skewering anything in its path.
• Golden Barrier - A more powerful version of Rapidmon's Tri Barrier, it quickly disassembles the data of any attack that comes into contact with it rather than deflecting it, feeding into and empowering Fujinmon's own next attack.
• Malt Cyclone - His signature and strongest attack, Fujinmon summons a colossal blast of wind that can be used as both a targeted attack, or an AOE at the cost of power.
• Storm Smite - Some things never change. Fujinmon uses his extreme speed and mastery over the wind to deliver lightning fast, devastating physical blows.

DIGIVICE

Physical Description:

Fully controlled through its touchscreen save for the power button and the home screen button. It's colored a deep red with white and black accents, and its screen has a strong green tint.

Special Characteristics:
- Shoko's digivice's most obviously useful feature is its mapping capability -- everywhere that Shoko walks, within a small sphere (~20m radius) around her, is mapped in detail.
- It can 'anchor' itself to one other digivice at a time, allowing Shoko to know where the holder of the connected digivice is at all times in relation to herself (and vice-versa, at least as far as the other digivice's capabilities can allow).
- The screen has a brightness setting, which can be turned way up to act as a flashlight.
- Being her old MP3 player, it can record sound and play it back. It also has all the music files that Shoko had on it, but they are all corrupted beyond recognition, the names being gibberish symbols and the music itself being nothing more than screeches, beeps, and other noises.

@PompousPrince Done! Writing a Digimon character while listening to Butter-Fly on repeat is pretty enjoyable haha.

Also, same for me, any of the characters who also live in Japan or have at some point can definitely have some sort of established relationship with Shoko. And, seeing as she's played a sport on an international level, it's entirely possible that any character has seen her on TV at some point -- though actually remembering her name and face and recognizing her is probably way less likely!

Oh, and I also really like Dutchguy's idea! It would let our character's know that there are others in the same situation as they are somewhere, and gives them an early goal of trying to meet up with each other.

I've read through the interest check and I'm very interested!

Quick question, would I be allowed to have an evolution line where Rapidmon digivolves into Fujinmon rather than MegaGargomon? While I found out Fujinmon isn't a digivolution of Rapidmon in any canon, I find they look very visually similar, and they have nearly identical Types, Attributes, and Fields. Also I find Fujinmon way cooler than MegaGargomon x)

Definitely not a deal-breaker if I can't, I just figured I may as well ask!

Finally, his strangest feature are the markings on his upper body -- proof of the curse that afflicts him. For reasons unknown to him at the moment, when he uses specific kinds of magic, the markings glow a bright blue.

Yuuhei genuinely believes he's an anime protagonist. And, seeing as he's missing all of his memories pertaining to himself and lacking any concrete personality of his own (for now), he acts exactly how he believes an anime protagonist should. For better or for worse.

Going by his default disposition, the boy is rather uninteresting. Politely friendly to all his peers (or 'side characters,' in his mind) on the outside, he tends to get dismissive if they try to hold any sort of conversation with him, thinking they're taking up more screen time than they deserve. And if someone is persistent and seems to keep popping up in whatever way in his life, he'll begin to view them as a 'secondary character' -- part of his circle of friends who will help him accomplish whatever it is he's supposed to do as the protagonist.

He tends to be somewhat serious and calculating (though his 'calculations' are always done with the idea that he's in an anime, of course, so they're not exactly the most useful), so on first impression he comes off as mature and put-together. Spend a few more minutes with him, however, and you'll probably catch him doing something stupid like accidently-on-purpose walking into the girl's changing room or challenging a 'rival' to a no-holds-barred fight.

He's fiercely protective of his secondary characters friends, and will never hesitate to throw himself into a poor situation to help them out. In fact, this goes for literally any side character person he sees in trouble, since that's what the protagonist should do. It's just a lot more genuine when he does it for his friends. He's quite the justice-lover, and unfairness is one way to set him off.

Yuuhei has a stupid amount of confidence in himself, convinced that as long as he gives absolutely everything he's got, everything will work out for him in the end. Even if what he's 'giving everything' on is a test he spent no time studying for. And, in that specific example, even when he sees his failing grade, he shrugs it off, certain that the next time will work out perfectly. Similarly, when it comes to exercising, practicing magic, or anything of the sort, he won't stop until he drops or gets it right. The mind-boggling drive he has because of this does help him out, often pushing him to excel at things, especially those he focuses on -- at least, as long as it doesn't get him killed. It does occasionally make him come off as borderline psychotic, though.

Abilities:
Due to the curse that's sealed all his memories, Yuuhei knows very few spells. Between the moment where he first woke up with no knowledge of his past, and the moment when he enrolled at Ishikawa Academy, the magic that came most easily to him was a branch of illusion magic that allows him to manipulate his own mind and body into surpassing its ordinary limits. It's a sort of mental projection/limited reality warping effect. For example, he'll create the illusion to himself that he's stronger than he actually is -- and as a result, will be stronger for as long as he's keeping the illusion up.

The main application he has for this at the moment is exactly that: making himself physically stronger and faster to near superhuman levels. The downside is that his body is still totally normal, so then he has to maintain a second illusion that his body is durable enough to withstand punching things that hard.

He also often creates the illusion that he feels no pain, perfectly complementing his general refusal to quit in a fight, though it's dangerous to use seeing as all he's doing is ignoring his wounds -- they're still there.

When using this self-illusion magic, the markings on his body will glow, their bright blue light visible even beneath layers of clothing. Yuuhei's not quite sure why, yet, but he believes it has to do with his awesome hidden power that he definitely has.

Beyond this magic, Yuuhei can't do much else, though he hopes his quick-learning nature will allow him to broaden his skill set while attending Ishikawa.

Brief Backstory:
The boy woke up one day in a small, destroyed shack, realizing he had no idea where he was. Or who he was. Or really, anything relating to himself. He could remember the date, what the latest pop hits were, how to speak, and even about the existence of anime and manga, but he could not for the life of him remember a single concrete detail pertaining directly to himself.

After freaking out for a while, he rediscovered he could use magic, and freaked out some more upon discovering the markings on his body. Using his vast, intact knowledge of anime, he realized what was going on -- he was in a situation that fit perfectly with being an anime protagonist. Waking up in a destroyed building with no memories, no explanation, and with the ability to use magic.

Hell, he even looked like an anime protagonist, he soon discovered upon seeing his reflection in a shattered mirror.

It all made sense. Understanding that someone was out to get him, but had failed in killing him thanks to of his mastery over magic and had instead settled on cursing him, he set out to regain the power locked inside of him, vowing to find the evil-doer who had done this to him.

A few days later, after some research, he was lead to Ishikawa Academy and applied under his new, self-given name: Moto Yuuhei.

A magical academy was exactly the place for a protagonist like him. Here, he would strengthen his own abilities, meet powerful allies, and even unwittingly build an impressive harem.

Using his vast, intact knowledge of anime, he realized what was going on -- he was in a situation that fit perfectly with being an anime protagonist. Waking up in a destroyed building with no memories and no explanation, and with the ability to use magic.

Hell, he even looked like an anime protagonist, he soon discovered when seeing his reflection in a shattered mirror.

It all made sense. Understanding that someone was out to get him, but had failed in killing him thanks to of his mastery over magic and had instead settled on cursing him, he set out to regain the power locked inside of him, vowing to find the evil-doer who had done this to him.

A few days later, after some research, he was lead to Ishikawa Academy, applying under his new, self-given name: Moto Yuuhei.

A magical academy was exactly the place for a protagonist like him. Here, he would strengthen his own abilities, meet powerful allies, and even unwittingly build an impressive harem.

Great, I'll get to work on a sheet then. Should be up within the next few hours.

And I do have some vague ideas about what to do with him during the more serious bits of the story when those come. I'll just have to give it a bit more thought as I'm writing up the CS.
