I am so so so sorry about not getting a post up. There's been a lot going on and I have hardly slept anymore than 5 hours in the last 2 days. Once I get some sleep I promise I will be getting a post up for India.

While re-reading all of the other nation's info thus far I must say I am really excited to see what happens in the U.S. Who knows, we may even see some Indian advisers in the land of cotton...
I'm a bit preoccupied with IRL business today but tonight or tomorrow I will definitely be posting for India!

Before I state how I go about finding a RP. I should probably note that this is all from my experience being a NRP Section only member of the Guild. So a lot of my lingo may be unfamiliar for those who don't travel to that nerdy section of the forums.

So, in finding a RP that suits me I immediately look for a few things.

1. Does the setting fit me: I usually only RP in historical and or alt-historical settings, though I certainly dabble into 'Pseudo-Earth' RPs as well. This is 100% a preference sort of thing but I will admit it definitely restricts me as most NRPs are set in high fantasy and Sci-Fi settings that I have no interest in. Thus I usually hop right on to historical NRPs when they appear.

2. Does my style of writing fit the RP: When it comes to NRPs especially I format all of my posts in a non-character style. Thus I rarely write from the perspective of characters and instead from what I call 'history book' style, in which all events are being written out as though the writer knows all future events as well as current events. That may sound strange but my writing career started with AARs on the Paradox Forums so that's where I am most comfortable. Note this is purely a Nation RP issue, in character rps I usually don't have to fear my style coming across as unwanted or outlandish.

3. Do I like the RPers who have joined: This sounds rude but trust me, it isn't meant that way. If I see people I know and have RPed with in the past, I am certainly more likely to join as I'm more comfortable with those people than entirely new groups. It makes my anxiety about keeping my post quality and allows me to more easily settle in and enjoy writing. However I certainly step out of my comfort zone and meet new and fantastic people when 1 & 2 are met.

A lot of this probably sounds REALLY nitpicky and stupid. That or makes no sense since like, maybe 20 people actually go onto the NRP section.
Question 1: How does player reputation affect you?

I would say that it certainly has some affect on me. I suffer from very serious anxiety and a multitude of other 'issues' so I definitely am fearful of looking like a foolish amateur in comparison to other 'popular' RPers here. I will fully admit that I have not joined RPs I've been interested in because a 'big name' joined and I feared I would look bad when compared to their skill in both character/world creation and writing ability. For instance, in comparison to the long paragraph+ replies others have given my reply is probably pathetic and tiny in comparison, and that certainly makes me anxious but oh well.

Question 2: Are you influenced by how the RP community looks at you?

Much like in real life, I will admit I am very influenced by how I am viewed. I think it is human to be influenced by the opinions of those around you. Luckily I'm so on and off in my activity that, as far as I am aware, I have no real reputation on the Guild. However if I had one I would certainly say it would influence my actions and presence here.

Question 3: How important is learning from your reputation?

Learning from how others perceive you and what sort of reputation you form is important. Seeing how your personality, be it real or fake, appeals or repulses those around you both online and offline allows you to build character and forge yourself into the person you feel is best for you and your future. I've made many changes in myself due to the reputation I've built on other forums and in real life, and I think for the most part it has made me a better person. Though some may view it as a sign of weakness or a lack of self-esteem, which is great because I'm both weak and have no self-esteem so hey that fits my personality type!
<Snipped quote by Chairman Stein>

I have honestly been contemplating making a list of people whose RP's I am to ignore or who may wish to take up roles that may be serious on the basis of their unreliability.

So far now with this RP, that list is two people long.

I'd say go for it however my activity varies depending on personal health issues. For instance right now I'm pretty active but I'll admit a few RPs in the past have likely died due to a lack of activity that I could have prevented. So I of all people can't throw a stone at those who vanish for a few days.
Posting for a placeholder on not-China
Well here's hoping the RP is still kicking. It'd be a shame if it died.
Well, this is awkward.

Ah geez did I go and ruin everything again.
