Bio

Hi, thank you for checking my account to further your knowledge of me as a person... That or you're preforming a background check...
None-the-less, this bio will hopefully give you a bit of a flavour of person that I am (and hopefully a postive flavour).

  • Believer Of Jesus Christ (Christian)
  • Casual/Avid Video-Gamer
  • Casual Star Wars fan
  • Casual/Avid Board-Gamer ('Common' games do not apply [i.e. Monopoly, etc])

And below are general interests when it comes to Roleplaying:

  • Star Wars
  • Supporting Characters (I don't wish to play Gordon Freeman, I prefer to play the Rebel trooper but I'd be ok with playing the Combine Soldier)
  • Mid-Low Fantasy Setting
  • Sci-Fi as a whole
  • Some Military themes
  • Heroes & Villains

nvm :P

I'll try to get a character handed it later today.
Also interested.
<Snipped quote by Charter>

I was thinking some sort of gravity nullification system that evaluates the amount of force the wearer (of the boots) exerts when jumping. It would take training to learn how to use them-no civilian could pick them up and go. I would put the jumping power somewhere around 30ft straight up (give or take a few feet) and as much as 45-60 feet with a running jump horizontally.
If the wearer was just trying to move around a null gravity environment the boots could be calibrated to simulate gravity. The boots are extremely high tech-one of the first things the space industry began working on.

Does that make sense?

Yes it does. Thank you.
Quick question on Grav-boots. How do they work exactly?
So if I made an app right now, would I be in?

Read the quote below.

Also, just noticed I missed the 'get in by 3/10/15' mark... Hope it still counts.

OOC and disclaimer:Standard forum rules apply. I'm the GM but I want big decisions to be taken by consensus. The RP doesn't work without players having fun. At max accepting 5 players. The list above is tentative on a first come basis. Have characters completed by 3/10/15. The first posts will be discussed in OOC, and should explain how your character got into/transfers to the Atmospheric Weapons Enforcement. If anyone is not sure where to start with characters ask for help-You don't have to use a template but here is a standardized one:

Took a little bit longer than I'd like. Here's my Char.

Name: Zachary 'Crash' Smith
Age: 25
Nationality: German (Born in Canada)
Rank: Sergeant
Special Training: Spec-Ops training, explosives training, demolition training
Gear:

  • RLC.48 (Rapid Laser Carbine): A rifle designed to chew through lightly armored targets or enemy cover within medium to close range, the RLC.48 is designed to be both a point-man's weapon as well as a support weapon. With two dials changing the fire-rate/strength of shots, it can suppress enemies behind cover or accurately pick off targets in cover when flanking. It's a compact and light weapon, makes it ideal when a trooper needs to be on the move or silently sneak behind enemy lines. (Note: RLC.48 can alter it's 'noise level' when affecting it's strength/fire-rate. Meaning, lower strength &/or fire-rate, more silent but less deadly weapon.)
  • LMIS (Light Mobile Infantry Suit): The LMIS (or Limis by most troops) is a suit designed to be used by hit-and-run units. While it's light armor can't protect much of the wearer from any medium or heavy hits, it can take a few glancing shots. However, this suit relies on the user being able to avoid enemy fire by either consistently moving or hiding behind cover. The suit comes with it's own pair of gravity-boots, a standard HUD, a grappling hook, a simple boost-pack (small silent gas burst can extend a jump, only useable every few minutes) and it doubles the strength of the user.
  • Desert Eagle: A classic weapon, using .50 cal bullets it can punch through most types of armor. Mostly used as a armor-eating side-arm. (Zach uses it as his backup weapon.)

Where were you when the Visitor Appeared?: Was preparing for an op in taking out an oil-rig out in Russian territory. The mission was canceled, due to it's low priority, when the fleets in orbit were destroyed.
Appearance: 5'6" in hieght, moderate build
I normally struggle with trying to get 3 paragraphs sometimes, however I'm willing to push myself. Another note, more of a personal request. Can we try to keep the swearing to a minimum? I ask cause the internet I connect to is not my own and has filters which tend to block sites. While I have been able to access most of the Guild's site pages that have a bit of swearing in them, I have experienced some pages as 'blocked' due to 'weighted phrase limit'. Bit of a long-winded explanation but something I feel I should bring up, considering this RP has a more 'realistic'/militaristic setting. That said, I'm not saying your characters can't cuss or such. For example; Bigsbie mouthed off the various things that his opponent's mother was, in a very colourful fashion.
Colour me interested. Quick few questions though Low, mid or high-casual? Also, would that be in relation to the length or the grammar of a post? Or both? How many expected posts in a week (the 'speed' of the RP)? Or do you just want to let if flow? In terms of tech, how is the medical field doing? Are nanites used in anyway? Do we have working bionics and, if so, is it advanced, still developing or somewhere inbetween? How are the Canadians doing in this world?
Roger snarled as he side-stepped the monster's attack, launching an attack of his own. His sword met with the beast's shield, clanging against it before being forced off with a strong push. The creature again tried to run him through with it's spear. Roger deflected the quick attack with a successful parry, he then landed another strike on the creature's shield; putting him face to face with the beast. Roger again snarled, and the creature responded with a more inhuman noise, which was abruptly became a gurgling sound. Roger's dagger had found it's mark and was jabbed into the creature's neck. Roger smiled from under his helmet as he drew the blade from out of the creature, black ichor covering the blade. The creature, with what little strength it had left, used all it's weight to push him over before attempting to bash in his skull with the edge of it's shield. Roger managed to block the first and second strikes with his arms, protecting his head. He felt the creature's body jerk before falling limp on top of him. As he looked around, expecting another one to be ready to strike him, Roger noticed lord Bali standing above him. After helping Roger up, Bali spoke, "Fenris requires aid in controlling our flanks and has requested the support of the Hillklag mercenaries. Where is the rest of your troop?" Roger, who's chest was covered in black ichor, held his hand in a fist and, with the use of his thumb, slid his hand from one side of his neck to the other, to indicate that his comrades were all dead. Bali cursed before continuing, "Very well, your support would still be appreciated if you still wish." Roger picked up his dagger, flipping it around in a cocky fashion before sheathing it and giving a mock salute. Bali shook his head, "A simple 'yes' would suffice." The mercenary made an odd sound, much like a chuckle, before picking up his sword and jogging his way in the direction lord Bali indicated for him to go.
