The blade is 6ft. Hilt is 2ft. I always state the 'blade' as 6ft.

Pollen is already reading the fight... so I figure we'll hear an explanation soon.

That 15 pound shield was being aimed at Sigurd's arm before he attempted a second sword slash.

2 feet of space is between Iolanthe and Sigurd, roughly. If his left half is his farthest point, that's another 1-2 feet. The span of Iolanthe's body is another 1-2 feet, once she pivots so that her spear-held arm is practically withdrawing behind her. There's more than enough toes in that math equation.
I think it's more of a 'saw cut' motion. The heat from that blade, you can't ignored due to inconvenience.

The pivot indeed reduced how strong her attack would be, and in fact would make it easier for her to sneak its full length under Sigurd's shield, which is covering his left side... and not his lower left side. Also, since she's ducking, her knuckles could very well be dragging across the ground as well, however they weren't, so I didn't mention that.

The main issue here, is that the blade breached Sigurd's guard, that's what I don't see your argument denying. The second stab motion she's making is all the cut she needs to do whatever damage she can from her current position. Be that a mere flesh wound, or a grievous gash, that's up to you... or Drifting Pollen.

If it was a lightsaber, this battle would have already ended.
Iolanthe's spear sweep is possible. If you thought it was impossible from the beginning, which was what... two posts ago, why didn't you tell me about it then?

Iolanthe lowered her arm and the spear initially for a sweep, just as you assume. The power isn't coming just from the slashing motion, however, but a secondary stabbing motion she's making the minute she was able to sneak Hyperion underneath Sigurd's shield, breaching his guard. There's absolutely no way I see Sigurd blocking the spear now, since he swung his shield off idle to the side, and relied too much on his attack forcing Iolanthe's hand to retract. She'd have only needed a 1-2ft gap in the first place to make this happen. Remember, she's also slightly ducking, and the whole spear is 6ft in length! The sweep initially aimed at his feet would've been weak, yes, however it is being re-adjusted, and aimed to stab in-between his legs, thus being given new momentum, new kinetic force, and mortal danger.

There's a chance the blade's end might slash the left side of his left leg first, however since you stated Sigurd is now leading with his right, I assumed both of his legs are in the path of danger, and his left leg might actually be a whole 6ft away. Although it's a stabbing motion, she's relying on the edge of her blade, making the damage it'd deal a 'slicing' wound.

Also, the heat from her spear is strong enough to melt metal. Leather and fur might ignite, or be burned to ash with ease.
The argument is turning a touch less savage. I can wait out a few more posts before having Hope say anything more.
@Sickle-cellTantalus might as well be my antagonist's antagonist.
She's pushing the fuss of her shield under Sigurd's arm. Both steeled items were very close, she took advantage of the amount of time it'd take Sigurd to raise and lower his sword in to another slash to block his second attack at the base, his arm. She's shorter than him, making it easier for her to glue her shield to his right arm, or wedge it in to his armpit. The angle of her shield would begin diagonally, pushing his arm away, and eventually become horizontal over her head as she ducked and continued her spear-sweep - Which would've taken roughly 3 posts to land... by now. Which I'd assume gives Sigurd no time to defend against it.
That's definitely not how this conversation is about to pan out.

Muahahaha - muahahahaha!

Playing a minor antagonist is fun.
Hope gazed upon her fellow avatars, assuming much too quickly they'd be willing to follow her straight in to the maw. She'd stick her nose in to the air for a moment and let the various aromas enter her lungs, with eyes closed. When the others began to speak, that's when a single eye opened to observe them. First among them, a girl spoke out her opinions, and alike the others who would follow, the general assumption was that this world didn't need saving. She mentioned something about getting hot, and punching things.

"My dear, it's only natural to flaunt how hot you are! But that won't cure the disaster that has befallen us! Why-" Now, before Hope could say another word, her psychic powers caught on to the general aura festering about the air. She couldn't perfectly read a mind, and she needn't do so, the other avatars were about to get vocal. The vibe she felt instantly ripped the grin from her face.

Vuduin, that adorable dark and mysterious young lad spoke next, though he was the primary target of Hope's own flaunting, she'd be distracted from his denial of greatness. Though she was ready to speak, and attempt to persuade him otherwise, the outbursts of Giratina and Xerneas's avatars were far too effective at drawing out Hope's nastier side. They scolded her, when all she did was come bearing news! Firstly, she'd answer the ghost's retort.

"How insolent... you think Arceus saved you simply so that you could live a new life alongside humans, so you could frolic about in the fields whimsically? Luckily for you, he indeed did give me the insight needed to educate the likes of you! Something, in his omnipotence, he was somehow unable to rid you of such ignorance." Hope's tongue proved sharp when need be. She fought venomous words with equal ridicule.

Then came the degradation, tantalized by Tantalus, the edge of Hope's mouth quivered once in anger, before she huffed a loud exhale, almost spitting in his direction.

"As dull witted as a plant, indeed! Avatar of life, how you've fallen from grace! Oh, but I see... the arrogance of your host hasn't rid itself of that body yet, has it? You couldn't bring yourself to kill him? And now, you're left with a pathetic mortal shell, of whom surely takes credit for all you've done... I think you've had enough to drink, little boy!" Hope made sure to emphasize on the last bit.

Reaching her left hand out, palm facing the table, Hope immediately began to ruin dinner for the individual who dared spite her. Immediately, Tantalus would find his wine missing, instead in the hands of the extravagantly dressed gypsy. She'd take a vague sip from the carafe, and made a clicking sound with her teeth. She had already warped Tantalus's glass far elsewhere, and no wine existed at the table any more.

"You wouldn't be able to defeat the powerful legendary poison Pokemon that created this disease, anyways... little fairy. Go take a nap, if that's what's making you so irritable, and let the adults talk. I have real wisdom to bestow upon worthy heroes!" Hope knew very well she'd have just started a war, and that her lie about a legendary poison pokemon might not even require attention to explain... she wanted to tease the man who dare mock her, and test how far she could push him. All in all, she did it for her own amusement. The vile smirk returned to her lips, as the tossed the wine carafe in to another tiny portal.
@ThundercrashI'm so used to there being a 'posting order,' I guess I can just go ahead and reply now?

I think I will.

Hope is triggered, this'll be fun.
I want to post, I badly do. I know how horribly Hope would take all of that backlash... and exactly how she'd respond... Ack!
