Bio

My name is chocomog333. I have been roleplaying on and off for about 15 years, including both forum and tabletop styles. I have a full-time job and a family, so my posts won't be as frequent on here as they used to be, but I will try to post regularly when I can. I don't typically write huge posts, though I can most likely do a paragraph or two depending on what's going on. I prefer fantasy style roleplaying and can either do either a homebrew setting or some series settings. For series settings, I like Magic the Gathering, Pokemon, Digimon, Dragon Age, Fate/stay night, Final Fantasy (especially Ivalice), and Kingdom Hearts. I do enjoy academies set in fantasy/horror settings as well. I like romance, but I also like to keep it PG. I'm up for 1-on-1 or group rps.

Most Recent Posts

I prefer my gnomes small.
I'm still working on filling out my character sheets and I don't have an initial IC post up yet (might be a couple of days, hopefully not), but I do have the OOC and the character skeleton posted here if you want to get started learning about the world and making your character. Thanks again for the interest!

Dear applicant,

We are delighted to inform you that you have been accepted into the Alveos Adventure Academy. When I founded this place of learning all those years ago, I had a few goals in mind. I wanted to prepare the next generation to be ready to face the dangers of the world around us. I wanted to bring peace to a troubled land. Finally, I wanted to create a place where the varied inhabitants of our beautiful home could learn to coexist and settle disputes before violence needs to break out. You have been chosen to join that legacy of peace and a brighter world. It will be a tough road, but we are all grateful for who you will become along the way. Welcome.

Alveos is a world comprised of elemental planes fused to create a single realm of natural splendor. There is one realm for each element (water, earth, air, fire, wood, metal, lighting and ice), as well as a central neutral realm where the central ruling powers reside. The realms sentient inhabitants include elementals, beastfolk, elves, halfling, and humans. The elves serve as the primary ruling and diplomats while the elementals control each individual realm. Beastfolk serve as the link between higher species and the creatures found throughout the world. Halflings are a short race who promote peace and simple pleasures. Finally, humans, though shortlived, are numerous and house the most religious individuals on Alveos.

Alveos is a world rich with mana that fuels the magic of the realm. Most people can use at least a little magic. Adventurers often pick up magic to help supplement their other skills. Some even choose to go so far as to specialize in using magic and becoming great mages.

However, not all is well in the world. Monsters swarm the world threatening to to destroy the delicate balance that has been maintained. There are also rumors of something lurking in the shadows, looming a threat over the future of Alveos. Though each realm has its own military, many choose to become adventurers to be free to help without obligations to national interests.

The roleplay will focus on young individuals learning how to deal with the world around them and their instructors try to train and encourage the next generation.

*Please post characters here for me to review before posting them in the character section.

To answer your questions RabidAnubis

1. For humans, around mid teens to early twenties is average. It's not exactly age locked, more like college. The other races tend to live longer, so proportionally they go at the same time of development. I'll go into more detail in the actual write up.
2. It's feudal for the most part. Nobility are very much present. The elves have a council for international decisions that is meant to prevent war. The academy's vision is to train individuals to aid the people of the world from dangerous threats, promote a sense of unity from diverse cultures, and serve as a place of general teaching and academics.
3. The academy is fairly new considering the lifespans of most creatures involved. Also, some factions don't neccesarily agree with the balance that the main capital has set up. Each nation has people who want more say and influence for their nation over the others. Thus, an academy promoting balance may not be looked well upon by those individuals. The main things preventing conflict between nations are the elves, who have been divinely arranged to serve as arbiters and the increasing threat of savage monsters whose only purpose is to destroy and kill.

Hope that answers your questions. Also, I thank all of you for your interest. I am out of town for the holidays at the moment, but I'll start working on the main forum when I get home. It might take me a few days to get it up, but I hope to have it ready by Thursday.

Marea was surprised to see her representative land on the stage. She expected someone a little more humanoid and not a bird. A bird person, maybe, but not an actual bird. She was a little uncomfortable with how fiery he looked, but assumed the heads of the school wouldn't pick a representative if such things as elemental affinities would get in the way of duty. She resolved herself to meet up with him once the entrance ceremony was done.
Carmina had her headphones on the whole ride into the academy. Her parents had sent her off with love. Even her personal servant said he would miss the young lady’s nightly concerts. But they all knew this would be for the best. She had a talent and perhaps the only way she would survive in the adult world would be to master that talent. To be fair, she wanted to go. She loved her home and her family, but they all knew she wanted to travel. She wanted to see the world and play the melodies of many far off lands. This was the first step in that journey. As she stepped onto the plane, she waved goodbye to England, her home, and her family.

Her lack of a voice left her a bit of an introvert, so she spent this trip like most of the ones in her past, watching the rolling landscapes go by as her headphones swept her away. It made the time go by much faster. Occassionally, on both the plane and the bumpy bus ride from the airport, she would get lost in the music and project her soundtrack onto the world. The confused looks quickly reminded her to keep her powers in check.

Carmina finally arrived at the school, collecting her luggage, which included her prized violin. She pulled out a pocket watch from the cloth compartment on her dress. She always blended fashion with function. She noticed she had arrived a little early, so she wasn’t in a particular rush to reach her destination. She decided an exploration of her new home was warranted. She strolled around the school grounds, taking in the massive campus, she knew that she it would take quite some time to discover every nook and cranny. She took another look at her pocket watch and decided it was time to head. She wanted to be fashionably on time, not tardy. She made it to the reception desk and signed in. She simply smiled and nodded at the less than enthused receptionist. She took a quick stroll around the front lobby before making her way to the common room.

Finally, she made her way to the common room. The decor was... eccentric, to say it politely. But, Carmina enjoyed eccentricities and the room's tonal disorder gave her a quick, but silent, chuckle. She noticed the food furst, then the other students. She quickly collected some breakfast and found an empty seat. Though she was starving, she maintained a dignified, but not offputting, air as she ate. While eating, she discretely placed two drumsticks she retrieved from her long stockings onto the table and awaited further instructions from the professors.
