Placing two fingers at the base of his skull, Nakami spoke to the room, his voice amplified by magic.

"Magicians, gather at the stage and follow me to your testing grounds. Anybody who wants to join us, I suppose you can watch." He sat on the edge of the raised platform, acting more like a bored kid than a teacher, and waited for his students to gather. He didn't expect many, since there was still a lot of argument against mixing science and magic, but he knew for certain there were a few.

"You are late," Blanche said, appearing seemingly from out of nowhere behind her charge. "Damon has been waiting for more than and hour. We have a job to do, apparently something with a dark guild." She shoved a hefty looking tome on white magic into his arms before turning towards the door. "While we're traveling, you're to read that, sickness or no. I'll be testing you on it when we get back."

Nakami was leaning back in his chair at his desk, holding a clipboard in front of his face when Sakuya walked in. Turning to face her, he put the clipboard down on top of an open tome on his desk, taking one last glance at the list of names on the paper. "Almost. There's not that much to set up, since I only have two students so far. I just needed to designate a large area for the testing grounds, since relatively untrained magic can be dangerous." He stood up, taking a belt from the back of his chair and strapping it to his waist. The belt had eight rectangular pouches hanging from it.

"What time is it by the way? Are we starting soon?"

you people are weird. I had and Aloe drink once, and it was horrible, and watermelon drinks are delicious. Did I wander into some bizarre alternate universe where people say the opposite of what they mean?
