Some things are just certain. Like death, taxes, and lying in the Mystery Dungeon personality tests.

Bio

No, I can't believe how little all this means to me.

I'm a long-time Roleplayer looking to do something with my life. My name is Chuuya, Chuu, or Oliver and I'm a 23 year old that lives with relatives outside Tampa. I like 2D fighting games, discovering new music on the daily, and I'm about as much of a weaboo as the next guy. At the moment, I'm currently in the middle of guerilla warfare with the roaches in my bathroom and the dumbest thing I've ever done was fly across the country for work during a national crisis. I like listening to people's problems and I sometimes think about the fanfictions that I'd like to write too. I'm also pretty good at reading people, but other than that, I'm actually pretty boring.

I don't have a preference for Roleplaying though I tend to bore very easily and get distracted by the next shiny plot that comes along. I'm open to about anything though I'm too inexperienced for smut (I have to know my partner for a minimum of a year before I feel comfortable writing it anyway). I've been Roleplaying for a little over a decade now and I'm mostly adjusted to "chat-based" Roleplays (i.e. Discord), but I'm open to new experiences. That's all I can think for now, but ask me anything and I'll be happy to share.

My best friends, @Lyly and @Tiger, also use this website.

Welcome to the Guild. You might have better luck posting this topic here with a little more details of what you like, don't like, and so on.
Thanks but Which Roleplay?

You can find it at the bottom of every post.
Thank you, Yankee! ^_^

Also @Chuuya is a close childhood friend of mine on the site who helped me find this place.

Hey. You. I know you. Respond to our Roleplay. Also welcome.

People have successful Roleplays?

In all seriousness, thank you for making this topic and I'll post a response in the morning after I get some sleep. I have a plane to catch right now and I should stop reading Off-Topic threads on RoleplayerGuild at 2 AM, but here we are.
I genuinely want to help people, but only if they want to be helped. I mean, I've coded several things for people on the guild and I've always been open about helping with coding. I try to be a good GM and a good player, as well as a good person. Ofc ive made some mistakes and some people might not like me, but i genuinely try.

Tbh, the biggest frustrating thing about this is that we are all trying. When it comes to GMing we are trying, or roleplaying or even creating a community (albeit sometimes flawed). Ofc people are gonna see only the best parts. I mean, I've bragged about Descension already on here, but I'm not gonna talk about how I cancelled my RP before that despite working really hard on it because it didnt get the turnout I wanted. It's like social media, I'm only gonna brag about my accomplishments and it gives this faux idea that our work is perfect. But ir's also a bit insulting that all our hardwork is called "coasting" when all of us are trying.

I don't disagree with you in the slightest. I've been holding my tongue on this matter all night, but reading along, because I have some very strong opinions of my own. There is no "helping" in this situation though. At least not this specific user. They've gone on rant after rant on the website, on the Guild Discord, and on the sidebar itself. I think it's great you want to try to help, but it's just not going to happen in this case. What IS going to help though is the advice that everyone offered in this thread tonight. And Bango is probably going to compile it into a nice guide that people can reference going forward.

So, in a sense, you did help. And I don't think you or anyone else here is just "coasting" by. Roleplaying is hard. It's been especially hard since the pandemic started. It's hard for people who work, go to school, have sick family members, have children, have pets, and/or have mental illness. I suffer from some myself and I know that plenty of my friends here do too. Most of the Roleplaying populace is going to understand that and that's why we really shouldn't waste our time trying to convince a single person. They're too far set in their ways and nothing we saw will change that.

Be proud of your work because the rest of us know exactly how hard it is to pull off a successful Roleplay.

You know, even if this thread goes down in flames, I just want to say that the responses put forth by everyone will make a marvelous guide in the future. I also think that it's nice to see the community come together like this. I feel like it hasn't been this lively since I joined the site back in April, but alas. This thread has been popping all night. Good work?
What nations, kingdoms, and/or form of civilization appear in your fantasy world?
I'm only pretending to be alive. I'm really a brainless zombie writing from beyond the grave.
