Krystan made friends with several drug dealer and gang members' kid brothers who were her bestfriends. As she grew up those bestfriends turned into gang members and drug dealers either causing them to die or completely forget about her. Only 2 of those 6 still keep in contact with her until they stopped. Krystan during her sophmore year was a target because her father owed money. A friend of Rosa's got her into Karate classes where she stayed for at least 4 years. Krystan left the projects after highschool kissing her half drunk mother goodbye and getting a bear hug from Rosa she left to go to California. She moved around for a good 7 years before settling down in a suburb neighborhood after getting a job at a gunstore. This is where she got her German shepherd named Raphael who was a pup at the time and started back up in Karate. On the phone a week or two later after Krystan got Rapheal she was talking to Rosa on the phone when the woman pointed out Krystan needed to train Rapheal to defend and protect the house and Krystan herself.
