Hey guys! Hoping maybe we'll see some posts this weekend? I'm chill to wait however long till people's schedules clear up, but I hope we don't let this thread die, seems like it will be great once we get it going!
Random question, since I'm new here. Is there a profile setting that lets you get emails when there's a post in a subscribed thread?
Bridget only had a moment to ponder her fate before being bumped into by a newcomer as they opened the door. Her hand remained firmly gripped around her pepper spray as she moved out of the way, and an uncomfortable mix of embarrassment and fear filled her. The man who had bumped into her was as strange as the others she'd seen, scorched, with flames spilling out of his mouth and eye socket. Then again, who was she to judge someone's appearance, she thought, reminding herself of her inhuman skin color. Even so, it looked painful. She wondered if the flames hurt as they scorched his skin, and she felt a twinge of pity. Moments later, a girl slipped through the door, the most human looking character here, but cracks across her skin showed that she too, was somehow different. Bridget traced the girl's movements with her eyes as she travelled around the room.

The silence was broken when the half man, half goat, spoke.

“I think w-we are all in the same, the same situation h-here, but still, I-I want to, want to check something,” he spoke, darting with his eye nervously from one person to the next. “You all, all got the note, r-right? The-the one that said to come, to come to this warehouse, is that right?"

The stutter in his voice made her feel at ease. He too, was nervous and uncomfortable. Her hand relaxed it's grip on the pepper spray and she gathered the courage to respond.

"I got it" She squeaked, in a quiet voice, it's pitch raised by her nerves. Luckily the silence in the room allowed her to be audible, echoing slightly against the warehouse walls. Her eyes traveled to the circle of chairs, and then to the other people(?) standing around the room. "There's six chairs...but we're only five.." She spoke the words, not looking at anyone in particular, but instead, staring intently at the floor. She was still a bit nervous to look any of them in the eye.
An abandoned warehouse probably wasn't the kind of place any solitary female should go to, much less one with a particularly nasty fairy in her history. Bridget mused over this as she stood across from it, taking in it's decrepit appearance. She could barely wrap her head around the amount of stupidity that had brought her here in the first place - a message, scrawled on the mirror in the bathroom at work. It was the stuff of horror movies... at least that's what her co-worker had said when she told her about it. Bridget had never seen a horror movie. She'd been too young before her kidnapping, and lately her life seemed horrific enough. She had traced over the words on the mirror with her finger and heard their song - the kind of song she sometimes heard that others didn't. The music had been strange, but didn't seem threatening. It made her long to know more. However, now that she was here, she felt very stupid and very scared.

Bridget fumbled for a cigarette - a nasty habit she had picked up during her days of homelessness. The heat of the cigarette on her lips had helped to distract her from the cold in those days, and many other things. She blew a line of smoke out with satisfaction and closed her eyes. It also made her feel human. She liked to feel human. She stood like that for a while, stalling and letting her thoughts wander, before crushing the cigarette under her foot. Now, it was game time.

Bridget had gathered a series of objects for this moment in hopes they might protect her somehow.

1. A rabbit's foot
2. A container of salt for throwing over her shoulder
3. a jar of possibly holy water, though probably not real holy water
4. a cross necklace
5. pepper spray (purchased today, when the idea of entering an abandoned warehouse dawned on her)

Quickly she tossed a handful of salt over her shoulder (supposed to cancel out bad luck) and headed for the door. Her legs felt weak and shaky and her hands glistened with sweat as she grabbed for the doorknob and headed inside.

Upon entering, her eyes fell upon two strange figures - A tall, monstrous looking white figure, and what looked like half of a goat and half of a man. She stepped back immediately in a panic, accidentally ramming her head against the already closed door. A yelp of pain left her mouth and she grabbed her head, tears springing to her eyes as she held an internal debate about whether or not they were here to hurt her.

"Yes" She thought. They were probably going to hurt her. Her hands wrapped protectively around the pepper spray in her pocket.

I've been really busy cause of the holidays + some other chaos. I'm still interested, and I'll get my sheet in today!
Hey! I am brand new to the site (but not to roleplaying!). Sounds like a lot of fun. I would definitely want to join up if this gets going :)
