DC Earth Infinity ∞

Hello, everyone!

This rp is set in an original DC Universe known as Earth Infinity. Unlike other worlds, Earth ∞ acts as a conduit that connects the multiverse and holds it together. Because of this, its inhabitants are often amalgamations, or even copies from other universes such as the DCEU, Earth Prime, Earth 1, etc.
In early 2017, the world was first introduced to Superman. Shortly after, metahumans and other superpowered beings began springing up in exponentially growing numbers. Some, such as the Batman, have been operating as vigilantes and outlaws for some years. Others, such as Wonder Woman, decided that it was time to reveal themselves. This shifting paradigm has had massive effects the world's political sphere (more details are on a canon Daily Planet website that we own), and entire nations became fascinated with the newfound gods who lived among them.

In late 2017, a being who called himself Mobius, otherwise known as the Anti-Monitor in other universes, attacked Earth Infinity. His arrival united six of the world's greatest heroes, the emotional entities, and even saw the use of energies that were dubbed the Life and Anti-Life Equations. However, cosmic horrors and endless questions came out of Mobius' defeat, and the newly founded Justice League must meet them with strength and stamina.

At the same time, cities all over the world are teeming with life as new heroes and threats rise everyday. Bruce Wayne has dived into politics, but his city is still riddled with crime and clown-faced mayhem. Where you fit into this growing universe is up for you to decide. Here, the possibilities are infinite.

For Honor Tournament!

A few questions; are irl grappling techniques, as shown in HEMA treatises and manuals, but not present ingame, allowed? Do wooden weapons, such as nanigatas or halberds actually stop cuts with static blocks or can they break within 2-3 blocks like irl? Lastly, does armor actually play a significant role in movement or protection? I notice that in For Honor, armor essentially doesn't do much. Characters move with about the same speed and plate does nothing to deflect cuts, arrows, or thrusts. So, will it come into factor at all if say, a shirtless viking suffered a minor cut as opposed to a fully plated knight, or would they be dealt the exact same amount of damage?

First of all, I'd like to introduce myself. I'm Katy, and I come from a Marvel Universe roleplaying community. We've been around for a while now and have come to know each other as a close knit group of friends, but we want to expand both our roleplaying experiences and the people we like to have fun with OOC. We use the mobile messaging app, Kik, due to it being the most accessible platform for most of our members. We're reasonably active and are beginning to launch a number of arcs for mutants, Avengers, and the Defenders. What if the character I want isn't on the wishlist?
- That's totally okay! As long as they aren't taken, you can grab up whoever you'd like.

How many characters can I have?
- You can have up to five characters; three mains and two alts. Mains are your's permanently until you give them up, but alts can be taken by other players who want them as mains.

Can I make my own noncanon character?
- Unfortunately, we do not allow OCs (original characters).

What's the minimum length of the posts?
- Length typically depends on the person and situation they're currently in. Some of us cling to around 300-400 words, but you can expect many others to go from 500 - 1000+ words.

Can I change characters?
- Absolutely! Just notify an admin.

What canon is being used?
- Our official canon is determined by RP events, but your character's backstory and version is totally up to you. You can use comics, shows, movies, or a custom mix of any of the above. However, we do ask that you see if your backstory steps on anyone else’s via a general question in OOC. In terms of powers though, we are more of a MCU type universe where we look to bring powers into a realm of plausibility without significantly damaging functionality. This means that your powers may have to work slightly differently from the comics, but the goal is to at least make it a very interesting way of explaining things.

How does someone do literate / novella RP on a phone? Isn't that clumsy?
- Typically, what we do is we write our emote on a computer using Google Docs and then open up the Docs app on our phones so we can copy paste it into Kik.

For those who are curious: Here's what's going on currently:
- Peter Quill has stolen the Tesseract from Odin's vault under the employment of Loki, god of mischief. Lady Sif is tracking the thief through space. Meanwhile, the Wolverine and Hulk face off in the small town of Miworth, Canada. The fight is brutal, but Logan manages to gain the upper hand. However, before he can finish the job, Amora of Asgard, or the Enchantress, stops Logan and hexes the weakened Hulk into becoming her new executioner. Soon, all the pieces will fall into place and the Avengers will face their greatest challenge yet... I looked into Kik. I do all my RPGing on my computer, rarely sometimes my iPad Pro. If I can't do it on my computer it's not worth my time, unless it is games those I like on my Xbox. Assuming Discord is doable on my computer I might be interested if you move it Discord, which is a really stupid name for what I understand Discord to be.

Ah. What we do is type up our emotes on our laptop with Google Docs, then open the doc on our phone and copy paste it into Kik. However, we are thinking about going over to Discord; we just don't have enough people who express that opinion yet :)

- Our current limit is three. However, we ask you to be respectful of other people who may come in the future. Please do not take more characters than you can be active for.

Why not Discord?
- We're actually mulling that over. There's a good chunk of us who would like to migrate to Discord, but we just don't have enough people yet. If you'd like to switch to Discord, your voice will certainly add some weight to that movement.

- Our official canon is that if none of the character's haven't met in rp yet, then they haven't met at all. However, we are very flexible about this. If you want to have certain relationships that stand as backstory with another character, just talk to the person playing that character. You can also use any version of canon, whether it be comics or movies, for your character's backstory.

- The Riddler is tearing Gotham apart and framing Batman as the one who is responsible for the deaths taking place in his city. Wonder Woman, Batman, and Batwoman have assembled to stop him.
- The Titans are forming in Jump City after a malfunction caused the Redwing to crash through three buildings. Supergirl has just come out to the world and is there to assist.
- Aquaman has decided to bring his kingdom back to the surface world for reasons unknown.
- The Justice League has not formed yet. However, a threat is coming that may change that...
