"That's okay."

That's all Mayumi said next.

"It's okay if you don't understand. There are many things we don't understand. But that's okay."

Mayumi, for the first time since the... change, smiled. It was a warm gentle smile, a smile that looked like it hadn't been used in a while, but still, gentle and warm.

"We'll help you. If there's something that you don't understand, we'll help you understand it. If it's something we don't understand, we'll figure it out together. If you'll let us, we'll help you."

She moved forward, while at the same time softly kicking at the boy kneeling beside her. Get up, stand straight, put your talking face on. That's what the kick said. It's down to the wire. That's what the kick said.

"That's what friends are for. Do you want to be our friend?"

She held out her open hand, towards the girl.

Now or never. If she failed, she'd probably lose her hand.

Don't fail.

It's as if someone had covered the entirety of every surface with a sheet of paper. Contours of every object look like they we're drawn in with pencil. It was almost like you've entered into a kid's sketchbook.

It looks like you're in some sort of garden. There are flowerbeds all around you, all looking like sketches in a sketchbook. The garden is closed off by tall hedgerows, creating a giant circular terrace with four exits in the four cardinal directions.

It's hard to believe your ears, but there is absolutely no sound coming from this world. Even though you can see the flowers softly blowing in the wind, they aren't making any noise at all. If you take a step onto the ground, you will hear a very, very soft crunch, as if you're stepping on gravel. Everything feels rough and grainy to the touch.

You see... what looks like a young girl, standing next to the one of the flowerbeds. She seems to be drawn in pencil, like everything else in this world, but from so far away, and with her back turned towards you, it's hard to say for sure.
"I hate them," Kouhime replied bluntly, the irritation showing on her features.

"They think they rule the world. They do whatever they want, and they don't even care about who they're hurting, or what kind of damage they've caused, and they walk around like they're such hot shit!"

She slammed her fist into the seat as she finished her sentence, and small chips of paint from the seat chipped off.

"I hate them," she repeated, quieter this time.

She took a breath in an attempt to calm herself down.

"They cause too much trouble."
The following have two days to post (yeah, I know, soz):

Kouhime leaned backwards on the bench she'd plopped herself down on.

In all honesty she didn't really care for the shelters; there was nothing to do while waiting for the incident to pass. It didn't really matter much to her--after all, she always had her music--but it would be nice if she could at least do something else.

What did really bother her, however, was that girl. She was a Spirit. One that had no qualms, apparently, about causing a spacequake whenever she wanted. She sneered, and her eyes narrowed.

She hated them.

Sure she was a Spirit herself, but she tried to keep her power use to a minimum. That meant no one had to get seriously hurt. And that girl didn't even think about it.

That girl didn't even care.
"Oy, boy. What are you doing." Mayumi asked, with a completely flat tone of voice.

And then, a very slight smirk appeared on her face.

"I didn't peg you for the begging type! Man, maybe she was wrong about you after all!"

She then turned to the girl, her expressing returning to its flat neutrality.

"Oy, girl. I'm not sure what I did to insult you... well, of course I wouldn't. But like, I'm sorry, yeah? This girl, she... she'd be sad if she saw you got mad 'cause of me, so."

Mayumi shuffled on her feet.

"As much this boy cowers, he has a point. No one has to die before their time. I'm still up for just... taking it easy, you know? I'm not sure why we need to get all excited about this but... I don't want this girl to be sad..."

And just for a moment, a flash of remorse showed on her face.

"Ever again..."
A cold, damp wind hits you in the face as the door opens.

Jesus, it smells like a sewer in here. It... also looks like a sewer in here. That's because it is a sewer. The room is surround by concrete walls, and sky above is a sickly gray. The water below is dark green and cloudy, and various... things... float around in the sludge.

It's eerily quiet. Other than the wind blowing around the complex, there are absolutely no other ambient noises. There are no birds chirping, no bugs buzzing, no rats scurrying. The water isn't flowing at all.

The entire place feels like every single life form in this world disappeared at the same time.
Haruka was surprised when the boy asked her what she wanted. Did he... know where he was?

Maybe he hadn't entered the other door, or maybe the other door was... normal, for a lack of a better word.

She peeked past the boy into the room, managing the get a glimpse of the message on the floor.

Normal... somehow she doubted it.

"Have you seen what's going on here? Have you... opened the other door yet?"

At this point, probably a pointless question. If he did, then he probably wouldn't be acting like this.

Unless he would.
I have added a map of 1-1 to the second post. The map will be updated as rooms are explored.

What do I do? What can I do?

Mayumi continued to watch, helpless, as the girl finally summoned her angel and brought her weapon to Suichi's neck. Kasumi was screaming at her to get away from them but... she... she couldn't abandon him. She felt like she needed to stay, but what could she do if she stayed? It was all overwhelming her and she just wanted it all to go away.

God, she hasn't felt this helpless since...

Since...

Yo. Long time no see.

You were doing really well. I saw. It's frustrating, isn't it?

...Don't worry. I'll handle it from here.

For now, you just calm down and take a break.

"Man, this is really annoying," Mayumi said, suddenly standing up and stretching.

"Hey, girl," this time towards the Spirit. "You seem to be awfully obsessed with the end. You keep on and on about death and stuff. About fate and shit."

There was no bubbliness in her voice anymore, and any uncertainty or helplessness she might have shown before was now gone.

"But you know, the end isn't everything. Of course everyone dies eventually, but why are you focusing on such a small aspect of someone's life? Why does the certainty of death mean the absolute disregard of everything else?"

She then gently chopped Suichi on the head.

"And you, boy, where did that come from all of a sudden?" she asked, obviously about his offer of a date.

"Man, this is some shit. I think everyone just needs to calm down, talk to each other, and think through things. Without waving weapons around."
