It's been a very long time since I've been active. I'm Cosmic Fury. Most here will not remember me, and I knew even fewer closely. I used to run around with a small group that moved here from another forum some seven years ago or so. I stopped posting around five years ago when life started getting busy for me.

Since 2014, I've completed my time in the Navy, and that ship has sailed on without me. Since then, I've earned three college degrees: a bachelor's degree in liberal arts, an MBA degree, and a bachelor's degree in natural science (well, this December at least). I have the goal in mind of getting into the space industry and all the exciting things that can be done with it. It's for that goal that I've done much of what I have up until this point.

I've since hopped onto the Discord since I'm active there and have almost no social life these days. I hope to get reacquainted with all of you as I move forward. Special shoutouts to Beta, Legion_X51, and paingodsson. Not sure if you guys are still around, but I remember you fondly -- no homo. :)
So, here's a basic outline of my race.

Name: Still at the drawing board for the overall name, but two of the major sub-factions (if there will be any more than that) will be called Zenrax and Pyrax.
Location: Either the Wild Space or Unknown Space.
Holdings:

Race: Just one major species other than human, if any. I'm not entirely sure where to go from there beyond saying that the [non-human people] exhibit many human characteristics, and are Force-sensitive in their own specialized ways.

Government and Leaders: It'll likely be an imperial federation, led by Anakin Skywalker and Padme Amidala, along with the supreme leaders of each of the native factions, which are enjoying the benefits of unity for the first time in millennia.

Persons of Importance: It'll be easily the Skywalker family, along with the Emperors of both factions -- to include generals of slightly minor importance. This list will include Jedi who have chosen to leave the Order in favor of the more spiritually relaxed culture that this faction enjoys.

Military: Along with clone troopers defected from the former Republic, they have their own Force-users and sufficient native troops to call themselves well-defended. Unfortunately I know very little of the weapons used in Star Wars aside from the basic small arms mentioned everywhere. So, I'll need help with that.

History: Two or three major factions of a small sector in [region undetermined] were separated in times of antiquity. In addition to being separated culturally and politically, they were in various stages for millennia. While in later years they slowly grew to recognize each other as more than just worthy adversaries, the advent of the Clone Wars forced them to adopt an idea that they would have taken many decades to truly agree upon: a lasting peace, or even possibly unity of these otherwise close factions.

It wasn't until the later years of this conflict that the Republic and the Federation took notice of this strange, outlying faction and its potential for power. Both sides sent emissaries to both recruit this newly united faction over to their cause, even staying long enough to exchange their ideals and knowledge to a small extent, just to entice the [unnamed species'] to join their respective sides.

Eventually, they leaned over towards the Republic enough for the latter to send Padme Amidala, the prominent Senator from Naboo on routine missions to this area to entice this faction to finally back the Republic in the war. A few years later, the newly-formed government of [Undetermined] decided to draft an informal military agreement with the Republic. They would allow the Republic to station troops there, but they would not be fully committing to an alliance.

With Padme Amidala on the way to sign the treaty, the Republic would have gained a vital ally in securing that region of space. However, the attack came while Amidala was still within Imperial space, and the treaty never officially materialized. Instead, when Anakin Skywalker rushed over to Amidala's side with his own regiments of Clone Troopers, the agreement was amended: They were free to stay, so long as they were fully committed to keeping [Nation name] safe from both internal and external aggression.

It's been twenty years since then, and the Clone Troopers have fully integrated with native forces to create a truly terrifying threat to other local powers. In addition, [Nation Name] has opened up its borders to other Force-users so that they may too come to enjoy the peace and tranquility offered by living within their borders.

Aside from that, here are the other things I've got in mind.

Other: There are two notably unusual Force-users common within this faction, not normally found outside of Ralgon space. The first type is mostly found in Pyrax, and includes those able to tap into the raw energy of the Force to produce fire, lightning, and other such energies. In addition, they are largely immune to most types of blaster bolts, and carry an innate resistance to the heat produced by lightsabers, among other such objects. However, they are highly vulnerable to shrapnel should they be struck by it.

The second type is commonly found in Zenrax, and includes those able to interact directly with the lifeblood of the world -- more specifically, its water and its soil. They have great control over the minerals of the earth, including its water, and they have used this power to create many small wonders for themselves in the past. More recently though, they have used this ability to help the Jedi fashion crystals for their lightsabers -- a weapon that is still considered exotic by Zenraxian standards, despite its usefulness. Despite their innate strength and durability, they are sensitive to heat, although they can easily use the water within their own bodies to regulate their internal temperature, if they must.

That's really all I've got on the drawing board. Any help hammering this out will be appreciated.
Hey, is there still room for me to apply? If so, I saw three areas open (one of which I see as very appealing).

It's been a long time since I've posted in this forum, and I'd like to actually get back into RP'ing at some point in the near future.
First off, I think that less drama could have been involved with creating the RP itself in the first place. A firm hand could have been used, and if someone gets too far out of hand, you as the GM do have the right to remove someone from the roleplay entirely for causing trouble. In addition, firmly addressing the problem early would have helped out as well. From personal experience, I've had an RP die because I didn't take decisive action early and often to make sure that trouble didn't get out of my own control.

Secondly, involvement with as many people as you could would have made posting for the others more conducive to carrying the RP on. From what I saw there weren't very many posts involving interaction between Naqah and more than one/two factions, in spite of the fact that it was surrounded by quite a lot.

Third, you had a case of bad luck. With exams just starting, people don't have as much time to devote to RPing as they normally do. Don't sweat it. When the month's done you won't be worrying nearly as much about other people's time constraints.

I have to wonder... How did a fleet of Ralgon ships get that far without running into ships of any other nations? I don't see an explanation... Though with the Daemonrexa, they tend to ignore ships of unknown origins until recently, when they finally decided to get involved with the world a bit more.EDIT: Any chance that we could set up a google doc for collabs in the future? I sense that we might need to collab soon, Haz. The next post after yours, for example, might go faster that way and more fluidly...

The general assumption is that other naval powers know exactly who the Ralgons are. They've got small groups of ships in far-flung places, and not just their homeland (where only about half the navy actively resides).
Alright, finally made a post. Now I can't say I've not done anything. :P
The Eastern Ocean
100 miles west of Naqah

The battered wreckage of a pirate ship floated on the water, as the Fourth Expeditionary Strike Group looked on. The relatively small strike group was one of nine that the Ralgon Empire had deployed in this region, and they were almost all meant for only one thing: pirate hunting.

"Sir!" The Commander rushed up to the Captain, who was in command of the strike group. "We've taken seven prisoners. One is the commander of the pirates. We've also captured their ship, and moved all of their bounty aboard as ordered."

"Good. We'll have a good report for Admiral Nefunae when we report back. The Emperor will also be pleased with our work out here, should word reach his ears." Captain Dakkar pulled a small booklet out of his pocket, and annotated the day's events into his personal log. "What is the policy of our prisoners?"

"They're guilty of piracy. We either put them to death, enslave them, or they buy us out, as per the old Emperor's orders." Commander Decker glared at the pirates that were gathered on the deck of the Revenge, the leading ship in the squadron of five that were out here in these remote waters. "Unless I'm mistaken, the new Emperor hasn't changed them."

"Actually, he has." Captain Dakkar kept his gaze riveted on the pirates. "We get all of their bounty, and give them the option of life in return. Their term of slavery depends on how much we take. If they choose death, their share of the treasure pays for the others, because we Ralgons are not thieves. How much treasure do they have?"

"We've already determined that they had just under 5,000 Drachmas' worth of treasure on them. By the looks of it, they had raided a treasure ship recently, and were on their way to their nearest base to stash it away." The Commander looked at his men, some of who gathered around the bound pirates. "I forget what the typical punishment for piracy is, though... or how much they have to pay to get out of it."

"The typical sentence is seven years. Fifteen for their captain, because a leader is doubly responsible, as his men act under his orders." Captain Dakker looked over the pirates. "The fee to buy yourself off is a hundred Drachmas a year. Right now there are seven pirates, and a little under five thousand Drachmas in their name. So, that means three years of slavery for each one... and eight for the captain."

He looked directly at the pirate captain. "Either that, or you choose death and help free what remains of your comrades with seven years' of money. Your choice."
They departed, with five of the remaining pirates being sentenced to two years of slavery within Ralgon territory -- and the captain being sentenced to seven. Of course, they would be able to choose their general areas of work. Consequently, they were now able to pay their debts to society in a manner that appealed to them the most -- or the way they hated least, depending on their perspectives.

The Squadron finished its patrol mission, and immediately departed for Imperial borders to assign these slaves to new masters both able and willing to purchase them from the government, and thus make more money flow back into Imperial coffers.
Apologies for my absence lately. My job in the Navy has kept me away from the computer lately.

In addition, my ship is getting underway on Monday, and I don't expect to be able to post after that until late on Friday. Please bear this in mind, for those wishing to interact with me.
Speaking of the Ralgons, I prolly need to get around to making a post sometime in the future...

I can imagine so, since your first post has one being fed to a bear. XD Also, blood sacrifices of any kind aren't practiced by my people; their main God is dead after all and they believe that when they die their souls join his in the afterlife. No need for a blood sacrifice there.

The main God of Seculcia is very much alive and kicking!

The Ralgon God is a lot worse than dead. He simply doesn't give a crap, period.

This should be interesting; I think Qanaxma Deniz is the only civilization that doesn't practice actual slavery. Indentured servitude as punishment for a crime or to pay debts, sure. But actually treating people like objects doesn't happen; going to be a nasty surprise for any diplomat from a slavery-practicing nation that brings along some slaves with them.

Actually, the Ralgon Empire's insitution of slavery is largely just people becoming indentured servants as a way of paying the price for either their debts or crimes. Wars aren't so common as they used to be (save for border skirmishes with the Crayvens), so enslaving people from wars aren't nearly as common as buying someone's freedom for a while.

EDIT: Gotta work on a post soon...
