That, or there's something wrong with them. Humans, and especially psykers, should feel more repulsion than attraction towards blanks, right?

When Interrogator Cassius followed the Inquisitor, Edwin followed right after her from what he assumed was a respectable distance. He had nothing left to say or ask his master, and now was not the time to get acquainted with his teammates. They would have plenty of time after the battles to come.

She really is beautiful. He thought as he walked behind Cassius. If only it weren't borderline illegal to reveal myself to her. But then again, we are in an Inquisitorial group. Doesn't Xersus define what legal is with his existence? N-no, I can't think that way. Xersus and Cassius have their duties to the Imperium, and I'm supposed to be nothing more than their humble medicator. Alright? Fine.

Edwin hated these little battles with himself every day. He hated his bouts where he questioned his duty. He hated how unprofessional he felt he was concerning his attraction to the Inquisitor's apprentice. For a job that left him satisfied with his role in life, the medic-torturer sure hated plenty about it. Such was his lot as a citizen of the Emperor's Holy Imperium.

Upon entering the Chimera, Edwin seated himself opposite of Cassius so that he could glance at her while he inspected his paraphernalia. Suddenly he had a feeling in his chest, and it told him to watch the sanctioned psyker who Xersus had also employed relatively recently. He didn't recognize his suspicion towards the psyker's sudden considerations toward Cassius as jealousy, but Edwin did regard Sten warily for a moment before returning to his inspection.

In a few minutes, we'll be in battle and we can forget about this. He reminded himself. It will just be me, them, and my work. Focus, Edwin. You can do this. Focus.
And here it is! Get to it, guys! Spread the word as well!
Hello, everyone! This is my first newest roleplay based on Avatar: The Legend of Korra.

Ten years after the defeat of the Red Lotus, Avatar Korra goes missing, and no one can find her. The world searches for her for over a year until all but her friends and the Order of the White Lotus have given up the search. The Order of the White Lotus then begin looking for (ultimately) good-hearted bending experts (and one good-hearted non-bending expert) to do the Avatar's job while she remains missing, a task force known as The Chosen. The Chosen are a Five-Man Band made up of a bending representative from each of the four nations, each called the "The Chosen of [insert element here] and a non-bending representative from the United Republic known as the Chosen of Man. They are tasked with traveling the world and maintaining balance while the Avatar is missing.

It has now been five years after Korra has gone missing, and all five of the Chosen have been found and accepted the Order's proposal to meet at Republic City when they are called to be given a mission of the utmost importance, which happens to be acting as the five Chosen. None of the Chosen have any idea what they're being called to do. All they know is that the Order of the White Lotus will one day call them to take on a very important mission. So your character could be waiting anywhere from one day to about four years before they're called to Republic City.

Okay, here's a basic skeleton for you guys. Add any sections you feel might be missing

Chosen of: Air, Water, Earth, Fire, Man
Name: Try to fit within the universe's naming conventions.
Gender:
Age: Anywhere from 20 to 40.
Role: In the group. Again, the Chosen of Water will end up as the leader.
Element: Some notes about bending (Which may be subject to change depending on Book 3's results) --

  • For the Chosen of Fire, Combustionbending and Lightningbending are mutually exclusive: if you choose one, you cannot have the other. [mostlyjoking]And if you're a Combustionbender, you have to be the tallest of the group.[/mostlyjoking]

  • The Chosen of Earth may know lavabending, since Bolin is in the position to be his or her master.

  • If the Chosen of Air is a formalized Airbending Master without mastering the thirty-six tiers of airbending, then they must describe the technique they created to ascend to the rank. They should also have a Sky Bison in their care.

  • Bloodbending is...something to be resolved privately between the Chosen of Water and myself if the player so chooses to have this skill.

Animal Companion: If your character has one, with a series-shared limited of two Team Pets for the whole group.
Appearance: Height, weight, eye color, hair color, scars, missing/replaced limbs, clothes, etc. If an image fits, link it.
Equipment: Any weapons, trinkets, nifty toys, etc. that the character carries with them. Personal vehicles would also go here.
    • The Chosen of Man may not have guns to begin with.

Personality: Detail is a must here...
    Bio: ...and here.

If some of you guys want your characters to be relatives, friends, rivals, etc. with each other, then work on that together and put that in the Bio section.

    Some notes about the team:

    • Each of the Chosen must hail from one of the nations. Chosen of Water from one of the two Water Tribes, Chosen of Fire from the Fire Nation, etc. The Chosen of Man will be from the United Republic.

    • The Chosen of Water will end up as the leader of the group, to reflect Korra's nature as an Avatar from the Water Tribe. However, that doesn't mean the Chosen of Water has to exactly be ready; they can slowly develop into the role if you choose.

    • The Chosen should conform to the Five Man Band structure. Here is a link to the trope and the relevant tropes within. Again, there may be some tension before everyone learns how best apply themselves in the team.

  • @Rinnee: Sure. If there are multiple sheets for a single Chosen, I'll choose the one that strikes me the most.

@Jetipster: Well then you have what we would call "a problem with that." Can't be a waterbender in this one without being the leader. Sorry.

So, should I make an OOC thread for this RP now?
"Your presence is welcome indeed, Venator. Your medical expertise shall be put to good use, in more ways than one, I suspect."

Edwin twitched inwardly when he heard the Inquisitor imply more purpose in this retinue than as a simple medic. The medic bowed to his master when duty demanded that he inflict pain, but it always tore him up inside when he felt a bit of joy at the implication alongside his shame. He continued on to his spot at the wall where he greeted the Interrogator before returning most of his attention to the situation in the room.

He noted some of the people that he didn't feel like talking to, such as the Confessor or the various other assassins and fanatics, and the people that he did wish to speak with, such as the psyker, the Tech-priest, the armored man, and of course Cassius. When Xersus completed his briefing of their mission, Edwin took a moment to speak.

"Should we be expecting resistance from anyone other than the Navigator and these renegade? Any gangs down there we should know about?" The medic had heard of how dozens of levels in a single Hive could be dedicated to total war between gangs, and he needed to be mentally prepared in case he needed to inflict more pain than he was expecting. Scarily enough, part of Edwin continued hoping to inflict unnecessary pain in the course of their mission.

Just give in, Edwin. A voice was heard, a dark mirror of his own. Give in...

The Venator blinked rapidly and shook his head slightly to silence the intruder.
Edwin had quietly followed behind Constantine, having seen the Tech-priest before on a previous outing with Inquisitor Xersus. His hands danced around the knives sheathed behind his back and the laspistol by his side, the dark side of his heart itching to inflict pain.

He shook his head in an attempt to clear his mind of screams and pleas. The medic began berating himself again for feeling this way; after all, hadn't he been doing his duty for years? Surely this got easier in time, when you no longer keep count of your victims and the blood you spilled?

Just clear your mind, soldier. Come on, empty your head and do your damn job. He let out a "whew!" and continued walking behind the Tech-priest, not wanting to make conversation despite his polite, small smile.

In the temporary silence, Edwin's mind returned to the Inquisitor who had summoned him. The combat medic continued to respect the elder servant of the Emperor; believing in the cause of the Imperium under his eye had allowed him to feel at peace for once. Being around his lovely apprentice was a bonus as well, but Edwin felt that he would have stayed by the Inquisitor's side even if he had never taken the Interrogator under his wing.

The quiet man waited his turn after the Tech-priest introduced himself as Constantine Drustos. A fine-sounding name, Edwin thought, capable of carrying weight, respect, and fear in its pronunciation, compared to his own name. When the cyborg completed his greeting, Edwin stood by his side and made the symbol of the Aquila to the Inquisitor as he bowed his head.

"Edwin Venator at your service, Lord Inquisitor." He said, raising his head after he had greeted his superior before moving to stand off to the side of the room. Seeing the Interrogator present as well, the medic nodded his head at her, praising himself for continuing to not stutter in her presence.

"Greetings, Interrogator Cassius." He said evenly, hoping to not betray his attraction to her.
I can't post until tomorrow; school work is keeping me busy.

Question: How are the members of the retinue entering the scene? Do they have transportation arranged for them?
Alright, gonna have to make this quickly!

    Name: Edwin Venator

    Gender: Male

    Age: 30

    Appearance:
Edwin appears rather unassuming compared to the rest of the crew, wearing a stained medical jacket over a bloodied suit of flak armor from his days in the Imperial Guard. He has a scar on his back from when he was stabbed by a mutineer. However, he's not to be underestimated; he knows his way around the body with his knives, and he's a good shot with his guns.

    Equipment:
    Lasgun and Laspistol
    2 Combat Knives
Diagnosticator (Diagnostor) - The Diagnostor is a sophisticated medical cogitator used across the human-settled galaxy. It can detect and diagnose almost every ailment known to the Imperium, and can be incorporated into medical kits, Servo-skulls, and other dedicated medical Servitors. Any individual trained in medical knowledge in the Imperial Guard understands its use.
Injector - Edwin's injector is a gauntlet, with a machine holding several injectors mounted on it. The machine can rotate in order to switch between drugs.
Medikit - Small, compact, and reliable. Each comes with a diagnostic cogitator called a Diagnosticator complete with bio-scanner and bioprobes, along with chemicals, drugs, and other means to treat a variety of injuries and ailments.

Personality: For the most part, Edwin is a quiet, polite man who wears a small smile on his face almost all of the time. He tries raising the humor of his teammates or simply making conversation from time to time, but he knows when to shut up or speak out. He is a respectful, submissive type, used to taking orders from superiors whom he trusted to be in the right and know what they were doing. He is inquisitive and curious, asking questions that he thinks he can ask when his curiosity is piqued. Most wouldn't expect a man of such a gentle disposition to be part of an Inquisitor's retinue, and Edwin himself is still a little shocked by the Inquisitor's decision. He has a budding attraction towards Interrogator Cassius, but keeps it quiet out of both duty to his Inquisitor and fear of how either master or apprentice would react to his feelings. He doesn't know if they know about this regardless of his silence, but he has occasionally guessed that they might know.

However, Edwin has a dark side. Fascinated with the human body, he takes as much interest in healing as he does in torture, casually talking to victims and explaining what was happening to them as he took a blade or a needle to them. However, this is more of a coping mechanism against what he's told to do, rather than a form of malice or sadism. He prefers healing over torture, but will do what needs to be done in the name of the Emperor.

History: Edwin was born on a relatively well-to-do planet in the Imperium, living a comparatively good life before being conscripted into the Imperial Guard. In an attempt to avoid direct combat, he tried specializing as a medic, but he found that he craved the opportunity to put his skills into good use, taking pride in the fact that he was saving lives.

Then one day a mutiny was suspected among his regiment, and Edwin's knowledge of the human anatomy got him picked as the Commissar's assistant in rooting out suspected traitors. Some of these suspected were his close friends during his time in the Guard, but Edwin slowly created the other side of himself in order to fulfill his duty and try to drown out the screams and whimpers. When the conspirators were all found and executed, the Commissar recommended Edwin to his colleagues, where he learned more about chemistry, biology, anatomy, medicine, and other fields he needed in order to improve his skillset along the way. Eventually he found himself before Inquisitor Xersus, and has been by his side ever since.

Position in Retinue: The actual medic of the group, though he is also versed in poisoning and torture if the Inquisitor requires this of him.

    So, how's that?
