Name: Calista Bell
Gender:Female
Sexuality(optional): Heterosexual
Age: 20
Job/Career: Design Major
Personality:
Calista is known for her bubbly demeanor and willingness to lend a helping hand to those around her. However, her absent-mindedness and clumsiness often end up making a situation worse rather than better. Even still, these faults of hers often allow for an aura of naivety, therefore making her seem more friendly and welcoming to new people she meets.
Though she might seem ridiculous at times, her serious side often makes an appearance through the moments in which she spends working on her artwork and coming up with new ideas. Her artwork sometimes reveals the pessimism and emptiness she hides deep in the back of her mind.
Background:
Calista grew up in a small town with both of her parents, whom often spent as much time as they could with her when she was young. Her father worked as a writer and her mother as a nurse. Although they were not extremely well-off, Calista found herself content in the home she grew up in, which was full of warmth and encouragement. As an only child, she never had to live up to any expectations from an older sibling or learn to be independent to take care of a younger sibling. She was allowed to be who she wanted to be without restriction.
Around the sophomore year of high school, she noticed the line that often separated her from her classmates. As everyone was excited about Valentine’s Day and school dances, she found herself uninterested. She sought out more enjoyment in other things like her artwork and designs.
She didn’t find her disinterest in romantic relationships to be a problem until the day the boy she had known since elementary, Marshall, began his attempt to win her over. Upon his first confession, she had wanted to feel something, she really did, but even after his relentless efforts she couldn’t. Eventually he gave up on her entirely and the tension caused a rift in their friendship. This left Calista more confused than ever as to why she couldn’t feel anything for someone she by all means should have.
Upon entering college, she decided to try her luck at finding love, deciding it was likely that Marshall just wasn’t “the one.” However, as she went through attempts at starting relationships, she found that she really didn’t feel anything for any of them. Eventually, she gave up, but upon coming across a flyer for group counseling at the Love More Cafe, she decides to give love one more shot.
