Mason

Moonlight Manor

Mason watched as James disappeared through the basement door. As he turned his head he found his eyes settling on Maks as the man neared with vodka in hand. It had taken Mason a while to warm up to the him early on, like many others. Maks lack of English hadn't helped but even so Mason could see the good intentions even across the language barrier. Maks sudden comment on his sleep had Mason wondering if he looked tired or maybe had bags under his eyes, he hoped not, it was likely Maks just making small talk. Mason opened his mouth to answer when Maks stomach interrupted and Mason smirked, "Slept fine Maks. What about you? How was the closet?" He may not have seen the Russian exit the closet but he'd walked by it on the way in, and had smelled the odor of alcohol.

Mason shook his head amused as Maks went digging into the fridge. The man couldn't even wait for the food to be prepared. He took another sip from his glass of water, holding back a yawn. When Maks came back up for air, the grin on the Russians face was like he'd just won the lottery. Then when he'd been offered some of the raw food Mason brought both hands up, one with the glass still in it, in a defensive gesture. "No thanks, you dig in." The man really could learn to not talk with his mouth full but Mason couldn't bring himself to complain.

He was aware of the returning pack members presence outside, the scent of alpha reaching his nose. That combined with people filing inside was causing him to tense lightly, his grip on the glass becoming more firm. It was becoming one of those days where everyone was in the same place, not that it was that uncommon. Mason was resisting the urge to slip out, quieting his inner self. The man did however move from his position, crossing the kitchen so that he was just outside of it's borders, that way he wasn't in the midst of everyone.

Moonlight Manor

Mason had woken at nearly 4AM this morning when James had made his way to his room, coming back from patrol. It wasn't uncommon for Mason to wake at any noises throughout the night. The man had gotten used to waking up in the night, living in a manor surrounded by people but he doubted he'd be sleeping through such noises anytime soon. He managed to keep his guard up even in his sleep, something that had become commonplace while on the run for six years. It had become etched into him with time and he wasn't entirely sure he wanted to attempt to stop it. He'd considered going on a patrol of his own, but decided against it. Instead he found himself lying awake in the bed with his hands behind his head staring at the ceiling, the cogs in his mind turning away.

He couldn't be sure when he fell back to sleep, he hadn't intended on staying up but his mind wouldn't let him rest. When he finally roused the next morning at the noises downstairs he decided to hang out for a bit before heading down. Sitting up in the bed listening in as events unfolded downstairs. Leo, the fresh wolf of the pack showing up with some food for everyone. Followed by James eventually making his way down, some of the others showing up. It would seem he was the last one to actually get out of bed. An amused smile crossed his face at the thought. Slipping out from the covers he made his way to the nearby window with his boxers and sleeveless tank top shirt. He cracked it open letting in a breeze of cold air that rushed over his bare skin. Breathing in deeply his nose picked up on some of some of the other pack members, it would seem they we're returning.

Slowly but surely the man got dressed and made his way downstairs. The kitchen would seem to be the hotspot, as that was where everyone seemed to be. Mason entered the room with a sheepish smile, "Morning." The man said quietly, moving to the sink where he poured himself a glass of water before leaning his back against the counter next to the sink as he took a sip. Mason was content with standing quietly, watching and listening. Just being around those he'd come to care for over these last few months.
I chose the right day to try and finally get a post in. :3

Mason might be lying around. Was gonna ask if the rooms/beds at the estate we're filled. Or if it'd be better for him to have an apartment in town or something.
"What are you supposed to do when your only family turns it's back on you?"

Name: Mason Richards
Age: 23
Sex: Male
Sexual Orientation: Homosexual

Relationships: Rowan Richards - (Father) | Alive

Personality: Mason's a nice guy, but he has a hard time letting his guard down as well as trusting anyone after putting all of it into the one person that wasn't supposed to destroy it. Typically he's a calm and collected individual, he comes of a bit passive but he knows when to put that aside and bare his fangs so to speak.

Biography: Mason's father was a loner and also an alpha, his human mother died during childbirth. His father was always adamant about staying away from packs, that he and his father we're their own pack and that was all that they needed. At a young age Mason blindly listened, his father could do no wrong in his eyes. As he got older the 'stay away from packs' became habit, almost a way of life. He was never sure why his father felt so strongly about this, maybe he'd been in a pack at some point, Mason would never truly know. When he was 17 Mason was out hunting alone, and had accidentally stumbled into a packs territory. Running into two of the pack members, one male and one female they conversed shortly before warning him to leave mid-hunt, he complied wanting nothing to do with them.

Meeting back up in the forest later with Rowan hadn't gone as expected, the man smelled the scents of the other wolves on his son, accused him of trying to leave him, to go off and live the easy life with a fake family. The two furiously argued and eventually Mason had enough and turned to leave, the moment he did his father jumped him from behind. Mason never saw it coming, never believed his father would actually hurt him but he could practically feel the alpha's bloodlust and the intent as the larger wolf tried to clamp its jaws on his throat. Mason fought back, something he wasn't sure he'd be capable of doing against the man he loved until that moment when he feared for his life. The two ripped at each other violently in a struggle before Mason decided to make a run for it, he knew he was outmatched by an alpha like his father. The older wolf would have easily caught him had Mason not injured one of it's legs. He knows he would have died had those circumstances not come together.

Mason never went home, kept on the move never staying in the same place long, he'd simply move on to a new town or state. Always afraid Rowan was tracking him whether to ask for forgiveness or to kill him Mason could care less, he wasn't going to give his old man the chance. He stripped himself of that bond the day they fought. Now six years later he still keeps the mindset of an outcast always looking over his shoulder. Over time a part of him, likely his wolf side, started yearning for something of a family or pack, just something more.

Eventually Mason found himself in the small town of Stillwater, he'd been there maybe a week when a man confronted him out of nowhere. Mason was quick to realize it was another werewolf introducing himself as James Xavier. Mason tried to to play it off, act like he was in a rush, try to escape. James had none of it, blocking him at every attempt.

"What are you running from?" James had said and that had stopped Mason in his tracks.

James spoke so non-nonchalantly, so easily calm. Those words would come to be the reason that Mason allowed the thought of staying, talking, and eventually meeting others of James' pack. The fact that James had figured him out so quickly, that the man somehow understood, without the need of words. It had chipped at something Mason thought he didn't need, a bond. And after a month of constant forceful badgering from James he eventually caved into meeting and becoming a part of the pack. He did like them, they'd been accepting of him for the most part, likely because James had vouched for him. It would have been a whole nother experience had he just stumbled upon them.

Many months later Mason finds himself a member of the pack, of a family. Adjusting to pack life, to what a pack truly is has been a process. Letting others in and allowing himself to trust again, but he never stops pushing himself to try harder. It's been especially difficult with Damien, it took time to accept the man as his alpha. Now he'd give his life for the man, easily, but the mental scars Rowan left him with are deep and Mason's quick to retreat to the side when Damien is there. Feeling nervous and cautious when the alpha is around, even when he doesn't need to be. Never turning his back on him unless absolutely necessary. He does the same with some others of the pack as well. Mason tries to hide it all, not wanting to make anyone in the pack uncomfortable.

He hates that he does this. Angry that his father took this from him, made him this way, and he fights it with every fiber of his being.

It's just gonna take time, to re-wire his brain and the person he's become.

Pack Position: Warrior
Mate: Unknown
Born

@ViolentViolet Yeah I figured he'd have to choose eventually. But just being the way he is personality wise he's going to want to be neutral. Just with how he feels about Alpha's in general it'll be an awkward situation for him I guess, we'll just see. :] Assuming he's friends with James now I'm sure he'll feel even more pressured. My guess is that if he and James talked, Mason would say his peace and James could likely convince him, unless he got too aggressive with Mason about it in which case Mason could be defensive and stay neutral. -Shrugs- Just thinking out loud.

So is Mason accepted? Should I post him in the Characters tab now?
Like the plot, Mason will probably want to play the neutral card. Depending on what happens and whatnot.

Alright, the CS on the last page is updated. Much later than planned. D:
I think I lost a few brain cells trying to decide between Warrior and Hunter.
I fit James into the history, if anything sounds like it wouldn't be something he'd do or say just let me know. I kinda winged it with his personality.

This might have gotten lost at the bottom of the last page so I thought I'd just quote it. :x

And I'll just re-post it here to make things easier.

Hah! That Beta Male thing was probably more amusing for me than it should have been. So essentially Mason can only be a Warrior or Hunter correct?

Oh and the map isn't bad, it's adorable. <3
Props for the different colored forests, I would have been too lazy to think of that.

Meeting James as a way to have entered the pack works for me, he'll have been a part of it for a year or atleast several months then. I'll do some editing to the app tonight or in the morning so if you have any specifics or idea's in mind for it you can PM me or something.

Sorry @Trinais that means Leo is still the FNG. :]
Shistacles. xD
I didn't know there was a limit, I'll work something out with it then. If anyone has ideas or wants to suggest go for it. :o
Heyo everyone. :]

Thought I might try to pop in on this, made the character yesterday but wanted to look it over again today before I posted. Initially his name was Leo too, haha. Then I realized the name was nabbed and edited.
