I don't care a bit, you can do whatever you like but I'm going to start working on the post here very soon.
Alright, I'll just re-post it after the skip then. Are you the only one that can delete posts? I gave it a try but couldn't figure out how. xD I've got it copied and saved on notepad so it's safe.
Verik exited a diner that sat alongside a long vacant rode near the Bighorn Mountain range. The man had been tracking down his former pack, a pack he had not seen in eleven years. He'd taken countless buses and hitchhiked all the way here over the last few days, though he didn't take a straight line just in case he was being followed somehow which had increased the amount of time it had taken to arrive. A large eighteen wheeler truck drove by and honked it's horn at him, he waved as it pulled back onto the road heading south, the man had given him a lift for the last few hours to get him this far and they'd had a bite to eat inside the diner but Verik had to go north so they parted ways. Verik walked along the graveled area towards the road with his hands shoved into his pants pockets, and started his walk deeper into the mountainous area. It had been a pain having to track down where the pack had moved to after the incident eleven years ago, but he'd finally narrowed it down to this particular range, and speaking to a few locals he had an idea of where they we're located.
----
Hours later he'd arrive at the end of a split road, and in the distance he could see the buildings of what he presumed to be the pack he was looking for. Verik was paused, looking from the small area to his phone which sadly didn't have a signal out here. He'd be lying if he said he wasn't nervous, he wasn't sure what he'd find here. A wolf on his own would eventually get caught by a hunter, and he had nothing, he didn't expect asylum but maybe a helping hand. Then again his father Orion had turned his back on the pack so they could very well shun him, assuming anyone he once knew was still with the pack. And if this pack was indeed his original pack, there was always that possibility.
So with a huff he pushed himself to walk down the path before him. What do I have to lose?
You can still count me in, distracted lately and didn't know when I wanted to hop in but I can try to get a post up soon. :] (By soon I mean tomorrow hopefully.)
Name: Verik Kent Gender: Male Age: 26 Rank: Adult Male Trade: Medic : Mechanic (Minor)
6'2 and 180lbs
46" tall and 205lbs
Personality: Verik can be a big softy with people he feels comfortable with. He can be very down to earth and passive most of the time. Though with recent life-altering events he's noticed he can be a bit snappy, especially when hunters are involved. While he is loyal it doesn't stop Verik from getting frustrated when decisions are made that he wouldn't have done himself. As far as he's concerned, both his parents and those he cared about from the Scarlet Pack we're all killed because of choices made by Alpha's.
History: Verik is the only offspring of Orion Kent and Sarah Kent, a Beta pair formerly of the Blue Ridge Pack but most recently of the Scarlet Pack in Arkansas.
The Kent's had been a part of the Blue Ridge Pack for a few generations, Verik was the latest. He'd been 15 when Niall had taken over as the Pack's leader. When the spree of killings went down, Verik's mother perished to one of the hunters before Niall called for the retreat. Not long afterwards Orion packed their things and left with Verik, his memories of leaving are blurry as it happened so fast and the boy was still grieving his mother. Verik wasn't given a choice in the matter of leaving, his father claiming Verik wasn't an adult and wouldn't be for another five years.
Verik never fully understood his fathers reasoning for this, maybe the man had blamed Niall or the pack in general for Sarah's death. Maybe it had to do with the retreat, maybe he'd seen it as a cowards move after losing so many. Or maybe the man just needed to leave. So Verik and his father eventually became a part of the Scarlet pack in southern Arkansas, where they lived their lives for many years...until recently.
The Scarlet Pack was more of a modern pack compared to the Blue Ridge pack. Verik quickly grew to learn the different ways packs worked. They lived amidst the people in an average city. As Verik aged he found that enjoyed helping both people and lycans alike and ended up working as a nurse at the local hospital.
The attack happened fast, the hunters came in force, it was almost like what had happened with the Blue Ridge Pack ten years ago. They we're getting picked off one by one until the Alpha moved them into a nearby abandoned campground to try and wait the hunters out. This turned out to be a mistake, once the hunters found their location they attacked. The pack might have once had the advantage had they done this early on, but their numbers we're halved now. And the hunters numbers doubled their own.
Verik fought and killed as much as he could before he collapsed from exhaustion deeper in the forest, and when he woke the next day he returned to the campground find the burned body pile that consisted of his family and friends at the center of the campground. He'd never know if he was the only survivor, the corpses had been burned beyond recognition.
Fearing the hunters would be searching for any survivors Verik fled to the north with nothing but the clothes on his back. With nowhere to turn and very few packs these days he's decided to track down his old pack in hopes that they are still around, and in seeking them out that they'd be willing to take him in.
Yeah, that works. Now that you mention it I totally forgot to write in the fact that he had been working as a nurse into that history. /facepalm Added a small paragraph to share that info amidst the history.
He just knows a thing or two about cars as well is all. :]
