Alexander had to bite his tongue to allow his mother to say what she'd wanted, in Spanish mind you, after Sombra had snapped back at him. The two Flores women loved their language play, bouncing back from one to the other just like they had when they argued even before Sombra left but that wasn't Alex's thing. Though it was almost a relief to hear her bring up a reason, to know that she and James hadn't left on some stupid romantic whim or something nearly as ridiculous. "Of course I did! I played scenario after scenario in my head, reasons why the two of you would take off without a word and made no contact. Maybe you'd been kidnapped, possibly eight feet under the ground. The FBI could have recruited you, or shoved you in some prison somewhere." Sombra was good at what she did even if it was generally illegal, the FBI catching her to either recruit her, put her away, or even going on the run from them had all been thought of. Alex was starting to pace slightly, unable to contain himself by standing still as he listed out the reasons she had the audacity to claim he hadn't considered. "I'd even let my imagination get out there and considered aliens for crying out loud."

Alex paused his pacing to eye his sister, "But my guess is none of those are true. Meaning that no matter the reason, it's not nearly good enough." The mans frustration ebbed towards a more pained expression, "We could have handled whatever it was together." He nodded towards Myra as he said this to include her in his words, the three of them were a family. Finally his Spanish started seeping out, "Pero usted no nos dio una opción en el asunto, hermana."

There was something about seeing his sister standing there by the window that left Alexander mute for the moment, unsure of how to react. There she was, older despite not truly looking it unlike him, but she was alive and in good health which was a relief. And on the other hand it meant she'd stayed away and out of contact despite clearly being able to do either with ease. Alexander wanted to both hug and yell at her, and for a moment he didn't know how to react. However the decision was taken from him when Sombra spoke up.

“..it’s been much too long, brother- really… you should learn to keep in better contact…”

"You know damn well I couldn't!" He shouted at her uncaring that those in the inn might be able to hear, his sisters words stung, they really did. That this was her proposed greeting to him after all these years of not knowing, worrying, and wondering why. The mans fists clenched and he had to bite the inside of his cheek hard enough to draw blood to keep himself from punching the wall closest to him. Alex wasn't the same person she'd left behind, someone who might have let it roll off his back without much thought. No, the events of recent years had changed Alexander and it wasn't nearly as easy. His saving grace was his mother, stepping into the room and brushing by him to get at her daughter. It was enough to break him through what he was feeling, and let his hands go lax.

"You don't get to act like that," While his voice was lower than the earlier shout he was hardly being quiet and still full of emotion, moving forwards into the room to get sight of his twin rather than having Myra between them. "Not after you walked out on this family."
@Crono; I apologize for Sombra, she knows she's being a bitch, but she's unsure of what to do right now so she's going on the defensive, loll.

Pssh.

Don't you apologize. Drama is drama.
And this family is full of it.

Alexander had a momentary shock at his mothers sudden change from watching to charging in. So much so that when he finally jumped up the man had to jog to catch up to the older woman and the pup trailing beside her. On the way here Alex admitted he was more than easily relaxed about facing his former best friend and sister but now that they were stepping through the front door of the building housing them?

He didn't falter or slow despite the fact that a part of him wasn't completely comfortable. Was it nervousness? Fear? Fear of what? Alexander thought to himself in annoyance, stomping through the lobby area only to pause at the realization he was alone. With a whirl he turned to look at his mother who seemed more or less...confused? As if waiting for something to happen, though he suspected she just assumed Sombra or James would have been waiting to surprise them. Alexander had learned not to question Myra's instincts however so he didn't say a word but merely waited at the bottom of the steps so they could go together.

Once at the top Alexander merely glanced at the pup to make sure he wasn't going to get himself in trouble, moving just one step behind his mother. "Are you just hoping your cop senses will start tingling or am I missing how you know which of these doors to knock on?" Alex asked, glancing at the doors as they passed. The Inn wasn't exactly huge, so they could easily knock until Sombra or James answered one but it seemed as though Myra had some hint as to where she was going. It wasn't until he noticed her focus on the door just ahead that the man realized she might have known something he didn't, but shoved it away because of the task at hand. Coming up on Myra's right, when they reached the door he was the closest and didn't hesitate to step forwards and reach out to give the doorhandle a twist. The worst that could happen would have been walking in on strangers, Callie might have been pissed later but that was really the extent of it since his mother the police officer was in tow. Alexander swallowed before he swung the door open with an angry determined look on his face, a lack of the full room from the entryway. "Sombra!" He called out announcing his presence as he stepped inside the threshold in the event they were wrong, an accent from his first language that usually stays decently hidden came out strong with the name.
I'm still alive I promise.

I'll get out an Alexander post here soon. :x

The longer Alexander drove the more anxious he was getting, hands tight around the steering wheel as he drew closer to Callie's Inn. Before he arrived Alex slowed and spotted his mothers car parked far enough away that it wouldn't draw suspicion. Alexander pulled into the lot and took the spot next to her car, pausing briefly before he exited the vehicle. Not too far off was the woman sitting against a small tree. That was Myra all right, cautious and calculating and putting her skills to work. Whereas Alex wanted to charge in and get answers, but he also knew that causing a scene would do more harm than good. If his mother wasn't here he would have either stayed away or done just that. But she was here, which meant he had more options.

Alex took a deep breath before grabbing the coffee cup from the cup holder and stepping out of the Nissan SUV. Afterwards he'd saunter over closer to the Inn along the sidewalk before stepping off onto the grassy area, heading towards the tree. While his mothers back was to him he suspected she'd heard his footsteps by now, and he only stopped when he came to stand beside her. Peering at the Inn for a moment before leaning down slightly with an extended left arm holding the coffee for her to take. "What's a stake-out without coffee huh?" He'd offer a small smirk of a smile along with it and once she'd taken it from his hand Alex would take a step back and crouch to sit down against the side of the same tree with his arms resting on his knees.

He'd stopped by one of the local places on the way to grab her a cup, having assumed beforehand that she hadn't tried to make contact, Alex himself didn't like the stuff in the least and never would. He was here now though and it was surreal to think that his sister and former best friend were inside the building across the area. The man would raise an arm up and back to reach over at the sleeping puppy in Myra's arms, one finger gently scratching behind one of his ears for a brief moment so as not to wake him. "So, what's the plan?" He'd ask, arm retracting to his side whilst his gaze went towards the building. For the moment Alexander wasn't the man who wanted to react to what was going on but the son looking to his mother for some sense of an idea on how to handle this situation without making things worse. "I mean, give the word and I'll go in there and drag her home kicking and screaming." There was a small smirk of a grin when he looked to see his mothers reaction to the sarcasm and expecting a scowl or a hint of scolding. Though it was true that if Myra gave him the go-ahead he'd probably at least attempt it.
I'll get the Alex post out tonight or tomorrow. Just got back from a weekend trip and I'm tired so I suspect I'll crash before I remember to get around to it.
I'll get an Alexander post out after James has another. ;]

Alex was returning to the kitchen area fully clothed when he heard his phone buzz where he'd left it on the kitchen table. The man paused nearby, leaning over to read the text from Myra.

From: Mom
Alex, the car is indeed registered to James... and I believe Sombra is with him. They appear to be staying at Callie's inn.

He'd frown momentarily before reaching up and rubbing at his eyes. It was difficult to say how he felt currently. There was only a moment of wondering why his best friend and sister had returned suddenly five years after dissappearing without a word. The question left at the sight of the next text he'd recieved while out of the room.

From: Miranda Burke
I am doing okay, Hope your doing okay yourself?. A wolf attacked our group last night… Syleste and Sebastian got hurt but the rest of hus are okay, thank you for checking in on me, Miri xx

They'd probably heard of the incident and driven from god knows where so that James could check on his younger sister. But the fact that they were at Callie's inn meant either Sombra didn't want to stay at home while she was here, or they planned on skipping out quick enough that she didn't have to check in with her family. Alex huffed deeply, grabbing his phone and heading out the front door of the home, locking it behind him before walking to his Nissan SUV. Slipping inside he stopped to reply to the texts.

To: Miranda Burke
No complaints on my end. No more midnight strolls through the woods alright? Glad you're okay.

Alexander hated not telling the girl that her brother was in town. Miranda deserved to know, but he wouldn't say anything until he found out exactly what was going on because the last thing she needed was any false hope or heartbreak if James left without a word. After hitting send he went to reply to his mother, hesitating on what he was going to say or even do. Alex had come out to his vehicle with the full intent of driving straight there...but then what? Possibly cause a scene? Not that he'd be bothered by it and not that he'd care if they would be but it wasn't exactly what he wanted.

But Myra was there, and by her words she'd yet to make any contact. She was doing what she did best, keeping her distance and watching. But that'd last only so long and she didn't have to confront Sombra alone. Alex stared at his mothers text as he considered replying before finally setting the phone down, starting the SUV, and reversing onto the street.

The beep from his phone caused Alex to roll over in his rather disheveled bed where he lay shirtless and stare at the ceiling for a few moments, ignoring the text he'd received. After returning to Klamath Falls Alexander had moved back in with his mother, and now occupied the carpeted basement area that wasn't so much of a basement and had a door leading out of the right side of the home. A groan escaping the man as he slipped out from under the covers and stand, heading straight for the tiny basement styled bathroom where he quickly slipped into the steamy shower. He'd stayed at the garage far too late last night, and even after returning home he hadn't fallen asleep right away. So now he was tired and a little cranky.

Skip ahead twenty minutes to where a still shirtless but much less cranky, and much more clean Alex stood in the kitchen cooking himself some scrambled eggs for breakfast. The pan in front of him sizzled as Alexander thought on what his mother had mentioned when he'd gotten home. That Miranda had been involved in something last night, and wouldn't discuss it, but that she was fine, but still. After both James and Sombra had left he and Miranda were both down a sibling, and so the two had shared some sort of small bond over that. Alex had never attempted to try and take James's place in any way shape or form but even when he left to college he'd kept in touch with Miranda and checked up on her from time to time. So he grabbed his phone and sent her a text.

To: Miranda Burke
Heard something happened last night, you okay?

Afterwards Alex scooped the eggs out onto the plate before having a seat at the kitchen table, finally checking the text he'd received earlier. It was from Mom, Your sister might be in town. Alexander stared at the phone screen for a good thirty seconds before finally putting it down on the table. He had to remind himself that it was a maybe before he reacted. So Alex took a bite of the ever so slightly burnt eggs, then reached for the hot sauce and dabbed it on them. Hot Sauce makes even the worst of foods taste decent as far as he's concerned.

The temptation to grab a shirt and leave the house to actively try and hunt Sombra down needed to be resisted. Besides, if she was actually back she'd stop by to see her mother and brother right? So staying here worked in just as much favor as leaving. Finally with a sigh he grabbed the phone and texted his mother back.

To: Mom (Myra Flores)
If you find out one way or the other, let me know?

He didn't really feel the need to say it, he suspected his mother would but it didn't stop him from sending the text. Then Alexander continued eating, while staring off into space lost in his own thoughts.
