Query: what are the force's/ psi's effects on forcefields and spartan shields? Last I checked, I don't remember a single occurence of the force being used on a droid with a forcefield. I assume it should have at least some effect.

The Force works as normal through the forcefield or shield, see this clip here.

Though Sith lightening would impact the shield directly and have to destroy the shield before impact with user.
I am going to rule the same with psionic/Force abilities such as Force choke or Psi mind-crush with regard to Spartan shields, due to their form-fitting nature and due to what appears to be shield collapse effects on the Masterchief when Didact essentially Force-chokes him in episode four. They will have to destroy the shields before affecting the Spartan directly. Though Psi brain fry ignores shields since it directly fries the mind without passing through the intervening biological material. And is harder to use, so it is more balanced.

Just a massacre of sorts basically.

Ah. Then yes, this is expected. And is the reason why I specifically state that I encourage people to take up new characters upon the deaths of their first ones, and to not get too attached. Because I am trying to kill you all.
There is still going to be a mangle pile of everything from this, you know that right?

Probably, but just in case...explain?
And that's the NICE stuff. Let's not start on the Crucio XD

Luckily, the UNSC has it's fair share of toys too. Combine with the Grand Army of the Republic, and they might even survive.

>:)

And I am controlling the specific actions of the NPCs...maximum number of player casualties intended.
To be fair, I don't want a bullet in my skull anymore than I do psychic brain explody stuff.

To be fair, you are more likely to encounter a bullet in your skull. You have a defense against mind explosion stuff. Not so much against ten cm long neosteel spikes traveling at hypersonic speeds and firing at a rate of 180 rounds per minute. Otherwise known as the standard C-16 Impaler Gauss rifle carried by Terran marines.

In the novels I've read, it seems to be all ghosts that have it.
In regard to serial numbers, there's
Agent X81505M,
Delta Emblock a.k.a Agent X10128B,
November Annabella "Nova" Terra, a.k.a. Agent X41822N,
Kath Toom a.k.a. Agent X52735N
etc.
My point is, they seem to all start with 'X,' have another letter at the end, and have numbers in-between. They also all seem to be 7 digits.

I do not believe all Ghosts have the influence mind ability. Telepathy itself, yes, but influence mind no. It is however a more common ability.
Ghost serial numbers consist of a letter, a five digit number, and another letter. Such as those you provide examples of. In Zarkun's case, he can have two letters before the five digit number if he likes since he's kindof an experimental ghost.

Nova had mindblast. At level 9.

Such was a particularly strong and of note occurrence, and not particularly at will.
All welcome our newest Ghost to the crew of the Perelliator, Zarkun/Agent Crimson. This should make things a bit more balanced. Need a light?
UNSC Solar Winds

Fireteam Ra walks back onto the bridge again as she is yelling for them and forms a line once again near the door. Assumedly, Savaymin is among them. And they are still armed.
Magellan nods curtly as she orders the weapons prepped. "Acknowledged, admiral."

Erm...
I thought we agreed that Cindra, being level 8, was capable of frying up to three people's brains inside their skulls at a time, or maybe one force-user with concentration.

Erm, I highly doubt I agreed to that. What I remember was capable of frying one person's brain inside their skull with effort and high concentration. Considering that Nova was able to accomplish such things at level 9.
RULES OF PSI/FORCE INTERACTION

Mandatory reading for Jedi and Ghosts.

Since Terran Ghosts have telepathic/telekinetic capabilities, here are the rules on how that interacts with the Force
1: They are NOT the same thing. Someone with the Force will detect no Force sensitivity in a Ghost, and Ghosts can't technically detect psi indexes anyway.
2: Mental defenses and offenses carry over. Someone with the Force can defend his mind against a Ghost telepathy, and Ghosts can defend their minds against Jedi Mind tricks and whatnot. That said, Terran Psi Screens are entirely ineffective against the Force, in the event that they are used.
3: Physical attacks/defenses remain constant. Force barriers and negation that work against another Force user, will work against a Ghost. (And no Ghosts here are powerful enough to microwave someone's mind, which is a canon SC thing.) Now, Ghost barriers will also work against Force attacks...accept that no Ghosts here are powerful enough to block significant Force attacks. They can weaken one, but not negate it. Luckily, it doesn't take much weakening for one to deal with Force choke...unluckily, it takes far more to deal with Sith lightening or a strong Force push.
4: Anything else, refer to me.
