Susie awoke the next morning and stretched her arms. The new day meant new possibilities and new adventures. She shook her head and got dressed. She left the sanctuary and summoned Shadowmere. After loading her supplies onto Shadowmere, she jumped on the saddle and headed to the road outside of Falkreath.
Susie walked out of the inn to the edge of town, where Shadowmere was awaiting her. She jumped on the horse's back and rode the trail to the forest, looking for the door to the sanctuary. She noticed the skull door and hopped off Shadowmere and walked up to the door. A bone chilling whisper filled the air.
"What is the music of life?"
"Silence, my brother," she answered. The door greeted her back home, and she walked inside, heading straight to her room. She avoided talking to any of her brothers or sisters. They would pester her about leaving. She laid in her bed and stared at the dark, wondering if this journey would turn out the way she hoped it would.
She looked at the inside of the inn and shook her head. The sanctuary was close to Falkreath. It would make more sense to just rent a room at the inn, but the sanctuary seemed more comfortable to her. She stood from the table, keeping her head down. "I will meet you outside of the city tomorrow morning," she said.
She shifted around so her legs were crossed on the side of the chair. She pulled her hood back down on her face, only the bottom half of her face showing. "We can figure that out after the first few masks. I like to partake in.... grave robbing... as others would call it. If I discover some things on this journey, then I shouldn't need any compensation," she said.
Her eyes looked genuinely curious and leaned forward. "I've done some research on these dragon priests, and I got the locations of the priest's tombs and burial grounds," she said, pulling a map of Skyrim out of her backpack laying next to her feet. She opened it up on the table. There were black circles on the map, showing the location of the masks.
"Most of these lead into caves, and underground dungeons. Are you up for this task?" she asked.
She took a moment to ponder his skills. "Enchanting eh?" she asked, holding her hand up to her chin, stroking it subtly. She looked around the inn, and shrugged her shoulders. "I think it will be a challenge most extraordinary. What would you plan to do with these.... masks... once we've aquired them all?" she asked.
She chuckled, almost sinister as she could tell he had a hard time swallowing the ale.
"I would like to say I am an expert at archery. I taught classes a few years ago. As for sneaking, I'd like to think I can't be spotted in a fully lit room," she prompted. She let her eyes wander over his cloaked body. "And what of you? What are your..... special skills?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.
She nodded and leaned back in the chair. "Would you like a resume?" she asked. She pulled the hood off her head, revealing her glowing face. Her pointy ears hid behind her natural red hair. She blinked her sapphire eyes at him. "If you're asking if I can take care of myself, then yes. I can," she answered.
Susie raised her head, but only slightly. She smiled and took a sip of the mead again. She set it on the table and pushed it off to the side. She reached inside her shrouded armor and pulled out a crinkled piece of parchment. She opened it up and set it on the center of the table.
"So I take it that you are the one who posted these fliers?" she asked, her velvet voice swaying through the space in between the two of them. She continued to keep her head low, and twiddled her fingers onto of the table, where she rested her elbows.
Susie wandered around the town of Falkreath. The rain was coming down hard as she wandered around the streets. She walked into Dead Man's Drink and took a seat at a table, ordering some Mead. She sipped on the green bottle. Her outfit was the one that she had obtained from the dark brotherhood. She could see all the eyes staring at her. She tilted her head down, as most of her head was hidden by the shrouded cowl. She was waiting to meet this high elf who needed a partner.
