"Now, let me explain to you all what Project K is. It's a new project that we created for students who really need extra credit, and also for a different learning experience. Each of you will be in charge of a kindergarten child to serve as his or hers temporary parent. Or should I say, parents. I have assigned each of you a partner you will be working with. Both of you will be the child's new temporary mother and father. This assignment will last for six months, until the end of the semester. You will have to keep the child with you at all times, even during classes, lunch, and school activities. If any of you play sports, you can leave the child with your partner while you attend games. Also, another final thing I forgot to mention, all of you with your child will be living in a neighborhood campus that we have provided right next to the school. I have already informed each of your parents about the details of this project, and they have agreed to it." The teacher explained, before pointing her hand towards a paper that has been taped to the wall. "The paper over there tells who your assigned partner will be. Now that I have explained most of the details, do any of you have questions?" The teacher averted her gaze back at the students.
Karina sat there, her mind trying to process all the information at once. She was surprised that she was going to have to take care of a kindergartner and live away on the neighborhood campus, with a partner no less! She gave out a sigh, and glanced over at the paper with all their names on it. She was curious to see who her partner was.
