Hey just so you know I'm driving down to Florida tomorrow and friday to help my sister move into college so replies might be a little slow until I get there. I'll try to reply once more tonight and /maybe/ tomorrow morning before I leave.
Staz was confused, "How can you know nothing about the marines when you're at a marine base?" He asked while he was writing down her order and scooping up the berries into his hand. Stuffing the berries into his apron, he let out a small gasp. This girl was a pirate? If she was, then how did she manage to get into the base? Wouldn't she have been captured by now? Staz was more than capable of taking her down and bringing her to the guards, but he didn't have enough proof to decide that she really was a pirate, "Even if the other marines aren't tough enough to beat you, I sure am! Look!" Staz hopped off the table and he immediately turned into his human-red panda form. His tail disappeared and his body grew in size as well as muscle. His ears were replaced with human ears and his paws were now human hands and included fingers and his barefoot feet had little toes on them. He was shirtless, so his muscular body could be visibly seen and his apron was covering his bottom half. Compared to Alicia, he was much taller and stronger. He loomed over and cracked his knuckles, "In this form, I can kick your ass in a millisecond." he snickered.

Hearing that she was looking for supplies, he let out another laugh, "Why would the marines aid a pirate? That doesn't make too much sense to me and I'm just a chef. If you're looking for a crew, then you shouldn't have come here. No one here is going to become a pirate, so you're outta luck. You're a funny woman, you know that? I've never heard of a pirate asking the marines for aid before. It's kinda funny." Staz chuckled, turning around to return to the kitchen, "Once I prepare your dish, I'll come back out and we can chat for a little bit." he told her, picking up the pitcher and padding back to the kitchen.

About a half hour passed and Staz returned, who was still in his human-red panda form, with a bowl of soup and a plate of rice cakes. He placed the food in front of the girl and he grabbed the other chair, pulling it out and sat down, "Before we talk, I wanna know what you think about the soup. I made it myself and though it's silly, the compliments of humans make me feel good." He nervously asked, gripping onto the table in anticipation.
Ame had about the largest smile on her face and she couldn't contain her excitement, "Really? I expected you to make up another excuse and I didn't think you'd actually say yes! Oh, did you hear that, Growl? Lily's gonna join us on our mission! Isn't that great?" she lifted the cat up off the ground and squeezed him like a teddy bear. Growl didn't say a word; he wasn't exactly thrilled to have Lily on their team. He knew that she was going to weigh them down and he couldn't do a thing to stop it. He just had to let it happen and allow for both girls to get themselves in trouble. She eventually let the cat go and he crawled over to her shoulder and managed to leap up onto her head. Firmly grasping the poster, she picked up her bag that she had tossed aside on the floor and she excitedly ran towards the front doors. The other guildmembers watched Ame dash like the giddy child they remembered from years ago. Ame was a particularly happy girl, but they had never seen her this happy before.

Ame pushed the door open with her hand and she held it for Lily, "All right! Let's go!" she shouted before exiting. Once they began to walk away from the guild, she peered back down at the poster for any details on a location. It stated that the convict, who was a man named Arata, was last seen in a town called Esbon. From what her father told her, Esbon was a very old town in Fiore that was most well known to be the home to various underground tombs of ancient monarchs and other aristocrats. She didn't know why a criminal would choose Esbon out of all places to hide, but it didn't matter now. He was there and they had to go at once.

"Are you all right with transportation? I know your dad gets motion sickness and I'm not sure if you have it too, but our best bet to getting to Esbon is by taking the train. Walking there would take too long and Growl can't carry both of us. He's too small." Ame asked, a worried look immediately being pastured onto her face.
Okay, cool. I'm probably going to make the town located near a mountain or an underground tomb so Lily can find the sword in one of those places? [Edit] Oh, nevermind. She already has the sword. Ignore what I said then lol

Ame isn't the kind of person to /rudely/ order people around. But she will try to motivate Lily and boost her self confidence. Growl, on the other hand, is the complete opposite.
The dogs averted their attention away from Jessica and immediately padded over towards Nellie. They were licking her hands and shoving each other in order to get a chance to be rubbed. Jessica laughed at the dogs and she looked down at her feet. One dog, a spotted mutt of some kind, had remained at her side and was laying across her feet. Smiling, she began to scratch the dog's neck, "It's not raining, so why wouldn't I be out? It's foggy, yeah, but it's not unbearable." She said casually as she looked around. The settlement was oddly empty that morning. Even if it was foggy, there would still be people out. Tommy and his crew were always out doing some sort of work to keep the settlement in tip top shape. It wasn't too early, so it wasn't like they were sleeping in. Maybe the weather really was too much for them. That confused Jessica, but she didn't dwell on it for too long. At least she had someone to talk to.

Jessica wasn't too friendly with Nellie, but she didn't hate her. They simply didn't talk much. Jessica spent most of her time helping the women who had small children, as they always feared that Clickers would invade the settlement despite how much security there was, "Why are you out when nobody is? The immune kid isn't out telling her stories and neither is her dad. They're all the folks around here talk about and it's starting to get kind of old. I hope it'll die down eventually." Jessica muttered, moving her hand from the dog's neck towards its head.
I posted a picture of a dog and in my first response, Jessica is petting a couple of dogs. Coincidence? I think not.
Nah, a sword could work. Perhaps they travel to a town (Would you mind if I made up a location that wasn't introduced in the manga? I don't remember any of the towns they visited in the manga) and Lily finds the sword while they try to capture the convict?
Yeah, that could work. What kind of artifact would she get? Like a Celestial spirit or something?
Ame nodded her head, "Sure! I'd love for you to come along. It'll be fun, trust me. Plus, you'll get a ton of money to spend on new clothes! Won't that be exciting? I plan to give some of the money to my parents so they can have a nice night out. Maybe that'll convince them that they don't need to treat me like a baby whenever I go out on a job." she said mostly to herself. She could tell that Lily had issues with her self esteem, but she wasn't going to give up on her. They were friends practically from birth. Ame knew Lily for her entire life. She didn't want to give that up now. Sure, she had friends in the guild like Growl, but Lily was special to her. She didn't really understand why they had been drifting apart and she wanted to do all she could to stop it. Going on a job with her and succeeding could perhaps boost her spirits a bit, "What do you mean? If we do it together, then it's only fair to split the reward. Besides, I bet you'll be much more helpful than Growl. He boasts about being all great and whatnot, but his magic is useless in battle. I bet your magic is much better than his!" she laughed.

Growl gave Ame a dark look before looking back at Lily. It was true that he didn't like Lily, but he wasn't going to try to exclude her from their job. Once Ame was sure about something, it's almost impossible to convince her otherwise. Besides, these two girls were friends. They were friends even longer than he had been alive. There was no way that he could tear apart that relationship, "My magic is very useful, thank you very much. What if you needed to escape from a dangerous situation but couldn't? I could easily fly you outta there in no time! You don't have to go as far as ridiculing my magic to get Lily to join us." he hissed.
The girl's scream made Staz stumble backwards and he nearly dropped the pitcher. He grasped onto the handle with one paw and held the bottom with the other while trying to reclaim his balance. Once he was settled, he placed the pitcher on the table and looked back at the girl. Her comments made him frown and he crossed his arms over his chest, "I'm not cute, yah bastard. I'm the head chef and I'm also a pretty good fighter too. Fighters aren't cute, okay?" he grumbled, "I'm also not a bear. I'm a red panda. There's a difference." He knew that he shouldn't be so rude to a customer, but he couldn't help it. He felt as if his pride as a man was on the line and he refused to let her get away with calling him "cute".

Staz nodded once she thanked him for the water and he stuck his paw inside his apron. He took out a small pad and a pencil and he placed the point of the pencil into the paper, "So, did you decide what you wanted? And also, um, it's not my place to ask, but the others were wondering who you were." He peered over at the kitchen door where a couple of the chefs' heads were peeking out. They had witnessed the entire thing and some of them were giggling to themselves, "Did the commander send you? Are you his fiancee or something? I know he's into younger girls, but not this young! Hmm, maybe you're his kid? I dunno if he was ever married, but I don't know much about him. I'm in the kitchen all day so I don't go out much." The red panda looked around his surroundings for a moment before leaning in towards her ear, "Are you a pirate? 'Cause if you are, you should leave as soon as possible. If anyone finds out you're a pirate, they'll capture you and hand you over to the Government." he asked softly, so the others wouldn't hear.
