Also started replaying Dishonored for the first time since 2012-3. Still love the world and atheistic. Stealth route is not as satisfying but more fulfilling.

I started playing through XCOM 2 for the first time since Feb. There's a lot of BS still going on, but it's addictive as ever.

He's not the captain, his rank is captain. He's not navy he is army.

Derp. Ignore my comment then.
The Captain role is taken...
Great to know there's a big history enthusiast interested in this period. I'm an Israeli Jew, as matter of fact, so I'm interested in WW2 Poland as well.
Thanks for your interest! I'll wait a few hours and then set up the RP. We don't need too big of a group.

Accepted! Hawlin, just get to it whenever. I'll look over it again every so often but I don't think I'll see the need to change anything.

Cheers! I assume we begin when all of Midnight's staff is filled?
EDIT: RP is active! Join here.

What?

September 1st 1939. The Nazis launch an attack on Poland, which was occupied in less than a month, thanks to the Nazi Army's superior technology and manpower. It was oppressed by the SS, SA and the Gestapo until the end of the war, including the mass murder of about 3 million jews as part of the Final Solution. During that time, the Polish Resistance brewed in the underground, trying to drive the fascists away from their land. The RP will center around resistance members and their actions against the Nazis.

Will it be historically accurate?

Initially, yes, but the players may take the game wherever they want to - from scavenging for supplies to blowing up railroads to killing Nazis.

What will be the tone?

Depends on the players. It can be a pitch dark comedy or a serious, semi-historically accurate simulation. Everything goes.

I don't really have any other ideas, no - aside from the idea that people shouldn't be god-moddy douchebags. :PUh, I think Captains and Soldiers as PCs could be cool. As in, you could have a few people playing as soldiers in a Platoon, and another as that Platoon's Captain - but you could also have another Platoon completely filled with NPC Soldiers which could be led by a PC Captain, or even a PC Soldier in a platoon led by an NPC Captain. Mix things up, keep it interesting, y'know?

Sure, I thought about that, but there are two problems: first, people would like to be captains rather than ordered by someone. Currently, there's no downside to being a Cpt., too, so platoons would be empty of soldier PCs and devoid of purpose. Second, since there are so many nations to play as, I have a fear that you'll have people picking "popular nations" (UK, Germany, France etc) while the smaller nations wouldn't have many people (Belgium, Astro-hungry, etc).

So why not have an "Axis" or "Allies" system instead of PCs picking individual nations?

Because I want the added depth and remove the genericity, and creating interaction between PCs of different countries.
Sorry to cut in, but are you still accepting applicants? I'd love to join in.
Looks like an interesting RP. Here's my sheet:

Name: Vilos Bear
Age: 117 Human Years
Gender: Male
Race/Species: Machina. These species are classified as "half-human, half-machine". as they look identical to humans, and wear similar clothes. Instead of blood and bone, their bodies are made of trillions of micro machines, creating a silver 'skin'. As such, they can slowly regenerate light wounds. Individuals with the resilient 'bodies' living a 'quiet life' can live for up to 500 human years.
Homeworld: Tarris Prime, Machina's prime homeworld, housing about a 1.5 million of them. Tarris Prime was blessed with rare natural resources, which are used for powerful ship hulls, engines and weaponry.
Personality: Cynical, often vulgar, and tactless around strangers. However, he is also a lawful, highly intelligent and reliable ally. Has PTSD about his past and represses it. May become violent if pressured to speak about it.
Biography/History: Originally wanted to be an AI engineer, Bear lived a quiet life. When the riots began at the age of 110 Human Years, his family locked him in his home, trying to keep him ignorant about the riots. As the riots escalated 7 human years later, extreme protesters from Messier 83 landed on Tarris Prime, offered "humanitarian aid", and started massacring 18 Machinas. Bear, who heard the screams and gunshots, broke his window with a few punches, and observed the consequences of the Terris Prime Massacre. Filled with rage, agony and enlightenment, he joined the peacekeeping force of IV Midnight Rain, to stop an event like this from ever happening again to any species.
Are you a ground-pounder or do you ride with the navy as part of the crew?: Memeber of the crew
Rank: PFC
Position: Senior Operations and Weapons
Weapon(s): .38 Revolver
Equipment: IV Midnight Rain weapons manual, weapon repair kit, tablet filled with additional guides, blueprints, and limited long-range communication abilities.
While we're at it, I have a question for you guys.
I was wondering what role each PC takes in the story - a solider or a captain of a Platoon.
If PCs are soldiers, the personal element is more significant, but interacting with other PCs can be difficult.
If PCs are captains of platoons, who are the platoon members? Filler NPCs? Would captains assign them (fill them up in character sheets)?
