To End All Wars will be a role-playing game taking place during WW1, and exclusively on the European theatre. Players play as soldiers fighting as either Axis or Allies in the war everyone wanted to be in, but no one wanted to fight in.

Each player character has he fights for, meaning that the game will simultaneously be played out on different fronts. PCs fighting for the same nation will fight together, and each side can kill soldiers on the other side. You don't know who you're shooting at, but it is possible to wound another PC, or someone wounding you. While battles start out as history remembers them, this campaign adapts to the players. Creative moves, teamwork and good RP can change history...

When you fire at a certain location, you don't instantly hit. You must state the direction you wish to shoot at, the number of rounds you wish to shoot, and the weapon you're shooting with. The GM (me) will roll a random number generator to decide if you hit anything. The chance to hit your designated target will change according to weather, your wounds, and if you're under fire.

The game is focused on personal stories, more specifically on small PC groups called "Platoons", consisting of 6 PCs each. A collection of 4 or less Platoons is a Company. Company members can interact with each other however they want (granted they're close enough to interact with) - and that practice is even recommended for strategies.

Tell me if you're interested.

I'm semi interested in this. I'm a big history nut, but rolling and writing isn't my favorite combination in the world.

Anywho, subbed to the thread. I'll keep an eye out and possibly get involved if you get more interest. :)

Thanks. As for the dice roll, It's a system trying to prevent godmodding (saying "I shot in that direction, killed an enemy"). If you have other ideas I'll be glad to hear them.

While we're at it, I have a question for you guys.
I was wondering what role each PC takes in the story - a solider or a captain of a Platoon.
If PCs are soldiers, the personal element is more significant, but interacting with other PCs can be difficult.
If PCs are captains of platoons, who are the platoon members? Filler NPCs? Would captains assign them (fill them up in character sheets)?

I don't really have any other ideas, no - aside from the idea that people shouldn't be god-moddy douchebags. :P

Uh, I think Captains and Soldiers as PCs could be cool. As in, you could have a few people playing as soldiers in a Platoon, and another as that Platoon's Captain - but you could also have another Platoon completely filled with NPC Soldiers which could be led by a PC Captain, or even a PC Soldier in a platoon led by an NPC Captain. Mix things up, keep it interesting, y'know?

Sure, I thought about that, but there are two problems: first, people would like to be captains rather than ordered by someone. Currently, there's no downside to being a Cpt., too, so platoons would be empty of soldier PCs and devoid of purpose. Second, since there are so many nations to play as, I have a fear that you'll have people picking "popular nations" (UK, Germany, France etc) while the smaller nations wouldn't have many people (Belgium, Astro-hungry, etc).

So why not have an "Axis" or "Allies" system instead of PCs picking individual nations?

Because I want the added depth and remove the genericity, and creating interaction between PCs of different countries.
