"Everyone tells a story about themselves in their head. Always. All the time. That story makes you what you are, and we build ourselves out of that story. So maybe I just have writer’s block…?"
Aoi Okana
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Height: 170 cm. (5’7”)
Build: Petite, Athletic
Personality: Aoi is usually friendly toward others, often acting on any opportunity to meet new people. However, ever since the game began, she began withdrawing herself from others a bit more and becoming less likely to strike up conversation with just anyone. She still never turns down helping those who need her help, though, often lending a hand to players who are not quite adept to fighting. She can be quite air-headed, often finding difficulty in remembering the little things such as directions or a person’s name. Although not unintelligent by any means, she has a tendency to jump to conclusions and take things at face value, which leaves her vulnerable to misdirection. Prone to getting emotional, Aoi has a strong sense of belief in the friends and bonds that she makes, giving her a powerful desire to protect them. This is especially seen especially regarding the issue of death or mourning. She can be quite temperamental at times, which can lead to some hasty judgment or assumed conclusions on her part. Despite being an athlete in the real world, she also really enjoys sweet foods, prone to obsessing over them and monopolizing them similar to a child. She is often hungry and has even more difficulty thinking rationally when going without food for too long.
Background: An accomplished athlete from an early age, Aoi had always been quite fond of the water, something that her parents had always been willing to support. It was because of this intrigue, though, that she became such a strong swimmer. It was at this point that her swimming career took off. She had joined the swim team in school, and her parents gave her every opportunity to join travel teams and clubs in order to hone her skills. Now, at the age of 19, she finds herself being scouted for the Olympic team, and though she wants to be happy about such a great opportunity she still finds herself feeling a bit of unease. This had been something she had always dreamed to do one day, and she had never felt happier than when she was in the pool, so why was it that she was beginning to feel trapped by her own dream. Shortly after this offer, however, Aoi discovered an opportunity to test a video game console, one that had the sole purpose of escaping reality. Maybe this was Aoi’s chance to “escape” from everything going on in her head. If only for a little while
