Los Paraisos: The Grande Diamond: Pool RoomHe was cornered, he was down, a feral cat in front of him, a mind-warping witch at his side, and his friends turned against him. Is this what Lucy had been going through just moments before? It sucked, and it left him feeling incredibly hopeless.
"Dylan baby, there's no need for this. Ah'm not so sure what your plan was for comin' here in the first place, but you should just drop it now n' give up. Please?"Was she really giving him a out? It seemed unlikely, with the way she seemed to enjoy toying with them.
"Yeah, just... Just leave us alone..." Lisette added, giving Dylan a cold look.
"There's no need to fight, yeah?" Lucy said. "Just go and everything will be grand. Well, whatcha waiting for, go on."For a moment he considered agreeing, hoping against all reason that she would be true to her word. It would just be a strategic retreat on his part, allowing him to regroup with the others and return on more equal footing. But even if she was being truthful, that would still mean leaving Lisette and Lucy in her control. And that...that he couldn’t do.
He had to reach them somehow. Had to remind them of their friendship and they where fighting for. “Fine,” he said as he scrubbed his slate clean, dismissing the spiked shield. “You want to play it that way, fine.” He rose to his feet, hands out in surrender. “But I’m not leaving, not till we find what we came for. Estelle! Josette! Many other women who’ve vanished and been taken.
“The friends I knew, the
Guilders I knew, would be with me in finding and rescuing them. Because that’s what we do. I’m not leaving, and if that means you’re going to kill me then just do it already!”
Chin held high, he stared his friends in the face. If there was anything left of their bond they could snap out of it. If not...then he didn't have much other choice anyway.
“Oh Aislin, protect me,” he whispered.
Los Paraisos: The Grande Diamond: Casino/Party HallThe brat kicked unreasonably hard, startling her long enough for Trixie to wriggle free. It wasn’t going to be that simple though. Heather whirled the gun on the girl, about to fire it when Xan surged forward and grappled with her. She fought hard for the weapon, though neither knew it to be empty, but started to loose it just a bit when Xan caught her in a vice-grip.
She hissed in pain, quickly contemplating the value of the gun versus that of a broken wrist. She had just decided to release the weapon when Bart came flying forward, and spun away from the coming collision. The impact forced Xan to release her hold, the gun flying aside and away from the whole group. Heather darted as soon as she was free, sliding on the ground towards the other gun of Trixie’s, the other she had kicked back.
As soon as she grabbed it, she turned back around and threw up another shield.
