Reason Why You Heard The MelodyIn a shady bar long past when the upstanding patrons had left, Emerson had been half drunk and wallowing in self-pity when he heard the melody. It started quiet and sounded so out of place in the ugly room that he might’ve asked the bartender, his friend, what the hell that sound was. He couldn’t exactly remember.
BiographyEmerson keeps his childhood and adolescence to himself, though it is known he is the only child of a single mother. At eighteen, already a cynic, he started attending a small college in his hometown, and that was where he met Thomas Ingram.
Long story short, he fell in love, and he fell hard. Not that it mattered to Thomas, who, upon finding out, led him on. Emerson knew perfectly well what was happening (Thomas was using him, he would tell himself on a daily basis. Thomas didn’t really love him). But when he was around Thomas, the man inspired the final shred of hope left in Emerson, and, though it led to long, sleepless nights, he loved it.
