So, I'm sorry in advance if this is a rough interest check-- but I've just really been craving a longform Fallout project, you know? The group attempts all fail, so I want to see if maybe I can find someone dedicated who loves fallout, and just wants to world-build within the Fallout universe together? And write characters having dumb, gritty, horrible adventures in the post apocalypse together.
Multiple characters, varying and probably fluid settings, plots as we decide them (though-- I am going in this with a few ideas to help us get started)-- if that sounds cool deffos hit me up!
Writing quality should be around casual to advanced, but honestly I won't be a dick about it if you won't-- like, as long as we're writing things we feel are worth writing nothing else matters.
I have a few characters from failed RPs I'd really like to use here, and generally I do play female-- but you can be anything! You can be a sentient eyebot and I'll still find a way for us to bone if that's where the story takes us. I'd rather you just be a character that you like playing, more than anything.
Also this should go without saying but I'm super open to suggestions.
Lottie is an educated woman-- enough so to know that it's easier for everyone if she hides that fact at every possible juncture. Her degrees in law are hidden from her husband, so as not to harm his ego, her appearance specifically manicured to please him and be in accordance with God's law-- each word she speaks was learned in a session of harsh discipline from her mother, to please everyone else. In many ways, she's the ideal neighbor in Probity-- A perfect blend of adhering to status quo as a religion, and a forceful self-flagellation to suppress any urges to break that status quo. These traits also make her so good at her job, putting away sub-human criminal scum is easy, when you know you're one of God's chosen, and anyone breaking the norm deserves to be punished.
Amoral Adversary
How does someone so clearly superior to all of her peers alleviate the stress of needing to dumb herself down for the sake of pragmatism? Friendly competition, of course. A clever way around bruising any egos, that someone as female, or vaguely ethnic as she, might be better than them-- is competition with the other hens in this chicken coop. Bake sales, bar trivia, friendly bouts of tennis even-- In a haze of wine and her own boredom, Lottie has turned her life into a competition with the other women of Probity. Her greatest competition of all? Her mother-- the ultimate standard for how all women should behave.
Michael G. Yates - Husband
Lottie certainly admires her husband. She thinks, as a man, first and foremost, and a man who enforces the law-- Lottie has nothing but respect and adoration for Michael. At least, this is what she tells herself. In reality, Michael is an alcoholic recluse, and Lottie knows this-- as someone raised on the teat of denial, she is not the woman to help Michael confront his demons. And so, there is a divide between the two, one Lottie tries to gap by being an obsessive homemaker, and trying to have children she doesn't want.
Ede V. Blanche - Sister
Ede is everything that Lottie despises in this world. Reckless adherence to passion without any regard for her family. Though, on the surface at least, Lottie loves her sister, and wishes nothing but happiness for her.
The Blanche Clan
Her role models for life-- they have achieved everything for their family in probity by winning, where others fail. Lottie seeks to become the perfect heiress for this drive. She considers herself to be the perfect adherent to their rules and harsh teachings.
Forever the black sheep of the Blanche Clan. Ede is a sardonic drop-out with an open taste for art, literature and a failing career as a poetess. Her work, independent of her name, may even be considered "good" by professionals in the field. Unfortunately for her, her name is tar pit of white purity. The Blanches are old Probity incarnate. They saw the construction town's first great church, and they'll be there after the last brick fades to dust. She wasn't able to attend University like her sister-- but, her family connections left her in ownership of Blanche's Basque Bistro, a restaurant specializing in traditional European cuisine. She tends to work very little as the manager, instead letting the employees figure things out for themselves, as she works on her art.
Preoccupied Pill-popper
Ede hides her sadness behind a veil of artistic obsession and prescription drugs. Her family requires her to appear in public, as an eccentric, albeit well off member of society-- the Black sheep of the Blanches, but still a Blanche. This couldn't be further from the truth for Ede-- a woman caught in a constant whirlwind of insecurity, romance, and partying. She's skilled at keeping her drug use from the public eye-- with, of course, more drug use. Who cares if she only showed up to the restaurant twice this week? At least she wasn't red eyed.
Lottie - Sister
Ede's insecurity in a big way, stems from Lottie. She was always the perfect sister, even without the comparison to dysfunctional Ede. It hurts even more that Lottie is Ede's best friend-- she was the only shoulder she could lean on while they were growing up. She loves her sister, and wishes that she wasn't so distant...
The Family
A bunch of conformists and hypocrites, with Ede Blanche herself being the biggest one of them all. The family was always close-- so whenever she got scolded it wasn't just her mother, but every auntie and grandmother as well. Though she hates them, she considers herself an even bigger hypocrite than all of them because she still uses them for money. It's the only reason she hasn't left Probity, she doesn't want to be cut off.
Hock the wad of saliva, Little red berries, chocolate Godiva, The holly, the rose of fine China. Mistletoe full of woe, my woes, and my woes.
I'm trying to get at this hoe, Not the other term, no-- I literally need to garden some, Fertilizer from Jet and Floatsome.
The girl became bubbles at the end. Green was the body, the cherry red head. I don't want the end for her, but she seemed dead.
Silken vanilla kiss, wafer nilla Flavored of donuts like silver, But the rhyme was more quivered-- The plant's scent attracts rats as they mate.
Run up that hill with me, Kate. Make that deal with God with a heart of hate. He touched my youth, and in some lifetime, this poem does too.
Eye contact, holly of hate, in me. Kernel of eternal loathing of we, thee-- Especially me, you see. With the Chakra’s eye shoved up your ass.
So far you see purple, out of your gurgle, Gurgle your death I chorus and love me, Spiked leaves, I'd kiss under you too, With that beautiful back bared to me.
Hell to you, holly, green vine, red berry, Drunk on cherry wine, sink as the ferry Passes us, on the Styx, it failed to carry. Me, but no thee, no longer we, as we see, the sea.
Kiss. Two different eyes, waves lapping the sky and horrors of the black deep. Holly holly. Horrible horror, and jolly. Holly holly, holy holly.
