Surprisingly, Valencia accepted the hug, and even seemed to like it. They held the hug for a while, until Alex felt her hands loosen, so he let go. Maybe we'll be good friends. Maybe even more. he thought. Oh crap, I hope nobody can read minds on this bus. He looked at the ground, kind of embarrassed. After a while of silence, he took out his I-pod, put one of his earphones in so he could still hear everything, and turned on his music; heavy metal. Then he took out his book and started to read.

"Look, I know how to take care of myself, I don't need you to protect me if that's what you're thinking. And I'm not gonna eat. I don't trust them. I don't trust anyone, and you need to know that. I don't even trust any of you." he was addressing Blue but he talked loud enough so that everyone could hear him. I hate being rude but this is the only way. She seems so nice though. Oh well.
"And as for my say in the matter of mission or schedule, I would also like to go on a practice mission. Might as well get up and move instead of just sitting around." he added. " So if we're gonna do this, lets get going."

Jacob sat there while everyone else ate. He wanted to eat so badly, but he knew he couldn't trust it. He looked around at no one in particular but at the same time he saw everything all at once. He saw a girl enter the room and heard the words 'pet' and 'panther', but he didn't bother focusing on the rest. Jacob noticed that everyone had been making quick glances at him throughout breakfast, probably trying to make sure he didn't notice. But he did notice, and what made him the most insecure was that the kid with the hoodie was the first one that looked. He must be criticizing me in his head for wearing the same thing as him. That's just perfect. Just as he was thinking about this the girl that had just entered the room sat right next to him, making him nervous. He kept his tough face on though. He wouldn't let her get a weak first impression. However, he didn't say a word. He would let her talk if she wanted to. @HaleyTheRandom

Alex saw the paper come out of Valencia's pocket and as she closed her fist it started to burn. Oh no. She must be mad at herself. I have to cheer her up.
"It's okay. I understand. It wasn't your fault, you just asked a harmless question. It's fine." he tried to reassure her. He didn't mean to upset her. Without thinking, he leaned over and gave her a hug. But it wasn't just to cheer her up. He really needed a hug right now. Hopefully I didn't just make things awkward.

"Umm... I... they..." he stuttered. He was instantly sad from the mention of his parents. He started to cry, but he stopped himself and wiped away his tears. "They're... not alive. They both died when I was 10. I live with my Grandpa and Grandma." he replied clearly this time. He started to cry again but more softly this time. Why did she have to bring that up. That's the only thing that makes me not happy. He looked at the ground so she wouldn't see his eyes.

Alex was startled as his pen flew out of his pocket. He flinched slightly. Then he realized that the girl was showing him the answer to his question. Telekinesis. Very interesting. He had her figured for an illusionist but no matter. He was glad that she continued the conversation. He looked around to see if there was any water. He wanted to show her his power also.
"Watch this!" he said. He had spotted a water jug next to the bus driver with no lid on it. He carefully but quickly lifted the water out of the jug with his powers and dumped it all over the driver. He could barely resist laughter, but he didn't have to because everyone else on the bus started cracking up. He turned to Valencia with suppressed laughter.

Alex was sitting next to a girl named Valencia (@Vampy). He was really excited to get to the camp. So many new people to meet and be friends with! He couldn't help not talking.
"So what's you're power? What do you like to do? What are you looking forward to the most? I can't wait to meet other people like me!" he asked all these questions one after another. I'm so curious. And she looks like she has so many secrets. I wonder what kind of person she is.
