Darkmatter's New Job

Delighted to announce I've finally gotten a long term writing contract! I felt the need to share the news with the guild as this is where I've done a lot of my more free-form practice in the last number of years. It's ghost writing again and it's nothing major, not exactly the glorious burst into the literary scene that I would have hoped for but still a great start. My already published works include several short stories and poems but in my own eyes this is a bigger achievement than those publications. Plus it feels amazing to get paid for doing something I love and spend half my time doing anyway. Feeling very proud if I do say so myself and really looking forward to it. Feels like a real achievement and will hopefully help in the long term goal of going full fledged author.

I wasn't necessarily complaining I'm just trying to strike a balance with everything. For example, the Yia is seen as god by some of it's client races but the nation as a whole isn't represented as such if you get my drift?

Hello. Sorry for getting to you so late. Yes there is a sample script for the audition. The issue about accents? Pretty much any accent can a may be accepted in the future. For now I want to keep it kinda simple. If you can do an accent I would love to hear them. Most of them will have to be American or Cockney as I have one character with a Cockney accent. Other than that, as I said before, they are welcomed in the audition but since its only a four part mini-sode I can't really consider them. There are not many characters in these first four episodes to begin with. If you will send me an email I would gladly send you the sample script.

The accent question is to do with the fact I naturally have a strong Irish accent.

@wernher all seems ok for now just don't powerplay it too much. A lot of the other nations wouldn't consider them 'godlike' based on how you've described them. My full thoughts will be in the coming nation review post.

@duck well that's fine I've no problem with images but large bodies of text or assumed text, coming from other sources doesn't really fly with me unless contextually acceptable.

@everyone Work done. Reading time. Unless any immediate questions arise, my next post within the next day will be personal responses/reviews/criticism/admiration/acceptance of every as of yet posted NS.
Next after that will be the creation of a compendium, and after that it's time for me to dive into a day or two of collaborative world building with you guys xD and/or adding more subfactions to the technocracy which should bring us nicely to the 24th, the start of the IC.

So couple of things.

Using pictures or media from other sources is fine, I do it. Please don't just C&P a nation or species. It's bland.
Also anyone wanting to post a sheet, you really have to read the OP. It clearly states no quadrant powers for now. Also, if you plan on playing a pre existing thing; ie there are always humans, then just ask if someone has already taken them and wait for a response before diving in. It just causes less friction.

I haven't had the chance to read over all the NSs yet. My plan is to do it over the coming days as I'm off work again.

I know it isn't as easy keeping everything together when I can't answer questions more immediately but just one more day guys and you'll be hearing a lot more from me again xD

Well thanks terminal for typing that out to clarify. Looking forward to finishing work tomorrow so I as I can resume adding to the world building myself.

@serp my human subfaction, Sextanis, I feel should reworded somewhat so to be more canonical with your sphere.

On positioning. The actual Inchinn station is kept hidden and each of the three sub factions operate apart. Technically only two of them control space. So right now the Technocracy is two seperate but nearby pockets of space.

I'll take it that nobody else felt the want to have a mutual subfaction within the technocracy and as such I may create more myself. Four small sub factions are about equivalent to a single major power.

I've a 4 hour bus journey tomorrow for work. I'll see about reading the more recent NSs then as I'll have leisure time. For however long my battery lasts.
