Due to a birth defect, Torana never became taller than a solid 6 feet, which in turian society, makes her at head shorter than your average turian. With white plates and grey skin, she doesn't strike that much in terms of colors. The only real noticeable color in her appearance, is her vibrant blue eyes, that due to the pale plates, stand out quite a lot. She still wears her clan markings, though it is more due a memory of her fallen comrades, than it is loyalty to turian society.
In terms of clothing, she mostly wears dark colors (preferably black). The clothing tends to be tight-fitting, in order to allow the most movement, it is however loose enough, to allow some comfort.
Background:
Torana's birth was far from a simple one; While pregnant, Torana's mother, a simple soldier, had come into contact with a large amount of eezo, while capturing a smuggling ship. Her mother was hospitalized for four months, and in that period, Torana was born. Having thought that the baby had died in the womb, her parents considered her survival a sign - a sign that she would preform great feeds in her life.
Despite a rocky start on her life, Torana's childhood was quite normal, if not a bit lonely; Her father was a general, so he was rarely home, and there was a limit to the entertainment her mother could provide. As she grew older, she started to display the first signs of biotic powers. So instead of attending bootcamp, like any turian would, she was drafted into a special training program. The purpose of the program was to train a group of young biotics together, so that they could learn to work as a unit, and once the program ended, they would be dispatched into different calbal units.
With the rarity of potential biotics, the age group for "young", was quite varied. Torana, being 11, was the youngest, and the oldest of the group had recently turned 19. The training they were put through was by no means easy, in fact one of the potentials nearly died during one of the harder training sessions. But the toughness of the training, bonded them together rather quickly. And for Torana, who's only company up until now primarily had been her mother, eagerly welcomed this. The 19-year old turian ended up taking a brother-like role in her life, becoming her best friend and closest comrade. His name was Zarax
After six years, the program ended, and its participants were to be dispatched into cabal units. The majority of them, including Torana and Zarax, was put into the same unit. And from there on out..well, Torana did as most turians do: preformed her duties. At first there was little problems, but things started to get complicated, as she would sometimes clash with the leader of their unit, a veteran by the name of Azzar. The arguments started when Torana began to notice the many casualties, that their high-risk operations usually would result in; To get the results, innocents or bypasses had to be sacrificed - after all "the mission was all that mattered", as Azzar always would say..a statement the compassionate Torana didn't agree with.
After a few years with arguments, and Torana's frustrations with the Hierarchy growing, it all came clashing down; They had been tipped off about the Blue Suns smuggling a large stockpile of weapons - their mission was to destroy it.
